ALostCarolean – Midnight All Day Long | Darksynth

ALC returns here with another suspense-building, fear inducing, 80s-influenced banger. I’ve always thought certain genres like trance are very thematically suitable for Luna, but the darker side of synthwave is also proving very fitting for Nightmare Moon! The strings and organ sounds in the intro in particular are a great setup for a drop into a heavy-hitting song about the endless night.

Frozen Night – Dragon of Time (Piano Version) | Piano Sonata

Sometimes I forget that amazing music comes in all shapes and sizes, but Frozen Night’s piano version of “Dragon of Time” proves just how much can be accomplished with a single instrument. The composition begins slow, with its regretful and lonely melody reverberating before picking up speed, weaving together gorgeous arpeggios over the thunderous strike of the lower notes, only to return to its former melancholy at the end. The dynamic contrast between sections is incredible, and the piece will keep you on the edge of your seat to the very end!

EveryDayDashie – PonyGPT | DnB / Drumstep

EveryDayDashie’s new track imagines a world where Equestria is not peace, but in a state of conflict due to the rise of AI. It takes off from the start with a very fast bass line forming a dark groove before going all in with a hardcore section full of jarring synths and scratches! Between the conflicting passages, the piece opens up with smooth choral-like passages before another synth picks ups the pace and drags the listener back into the fray. If you’re looking for a sinister and fiery sound, make sure to check this one out!

Anamore – Invisible (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Electronic Rock

A few weeks ago, Anamore dropped this fantastic cover of a lesser known song from the EQG universe, “Invisible,” and she’s turned it into a rousing anthem! It’s a fusion of many styles and genres with its electric guitar and bass, lively rock drums, bouncy synths, subtle strings, and even some scratching thrown in on the low end and glitchy sounds in the beginning. Her vocals are simultaneously soft and crisp, and her performance is spot on! The song’s subject is one I think many of us have related to at one point or another, so thanks for putting in all the effort to make such a lovely cover ❤

ProtoShadez – Dark Reflection | Acoustic / Emo

It’s been ten years since we were introduced to King Sombra and the Crystal Empire, and I’m glad that musicians like ProtoShadez are still creating tracks to show a fictitious and more complex side to Sombra that the show missed out on. “Dark Reflections” catches this sorrowful Sombra with the intense yet expressive piano instrumentalization and raw, regretful screams out with the perfect amount of “edge.” It takes impressive talent to harmonize with yourself, and even more talent to make it sound astonishing. Shadez brings this to the table with his occasional octave harmonies laid over the main voice, almost like there was regret for the words not said. An unbelievable and soulful song that really made me sympathize for everyone who has to make major sacrifices for a greater good.

Jacqueling – Адреналин/Adrenaline (ft. Rem) | Metal

Always fun to have some metal, and Jacqueling (formerly Burning Gryphon) and Rem really bring the fire! Between her upbeat guitars, fast paced drums and the fun Russian lyrics sung by Rem and written by Hanyuu this track is definitely a must listen and I can really recommend it, even if you don’t understand the lyrics you can more then enjoy what all people involved have put together!

Algo at All – let’s fly | Electronic

Algo at All’s first release this year is one of the most adorable tracks I’ve heard in a while! This Minuette themed track samples her voice heavily from “Amending Episodes” of Season 5, with some Pinkie and Fluttershy clips used as percussive sounds. The overall sound is so fluffy, light, and playful with a lot of bouncy synths, synthetic bells, and smooth basses. The middle section changes the equalization of the mix to create an even more relaxed feel before coming back in full force. The track ends with jazzy piano chords and the sound of some of our favorite pony friends laughing in the background. It’s an absolute delight, so make sure to check this out!

MelodyBrony – It Wasn’t Nice Knowing You (feat. Blackened Blue) | Metal

Given the impact Misty has had on the Fandom as of late, she is becoming another darling for fans with surging popularity; It was only a matter of time before music like this was going to happen, fantasizing a turn for the better for Misty’s Character Arch, and Melodybrony is happy to make a track about Misty’s future about-face with her alignment with Opaline. The lyrics set it up perfectly with Misty’s frustration, being fed up with being treated poorly and being told lies and half-truths, being treated like cannon fodder. The lyrics drive that Misty wants something so much more for herself. As Metal only can, the hard rock and metalcore melodies light your senses with the emotion of breaking free of your chains from those holding you down. Hardcore and uplifting, I’m sure Misty lovers will find this track a delight! As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
