Replacer’s latest outing sees a return to Passing By in the form of a VIP, originally the 68th track from Ponies at Dawn: Echoes. While the core song has remained the same, this VIP version strips down some of the musical elements and has a more refined feeling, especially in some of the piano chords throughout that are played differently and sounding more ominous when combined with the bass. It even has a slightly longer runtime, clocking in at exactly 4 minutes long. While it’s a step in the right direction, that amazing psychedelic feeling hasn’t gone anywhere!

VibePoniez – Skyscrapers LP | Compilation Album | Chillout
Challenger approaching… VibePoniez – an electronic label formed by TheTaZe, Steryotype and Tw3Lv3 – has recently released their first full-length compilation album Skyscrapers, a collection of 20 songs with chill vibes primarily in the electronic genre. Our opening track is a remix of the Single Purpose song Setbacks brought to you by TheTaZe, featuring heartbreaking voice samples from I Am Octavia. The next track comes from fandom lo-fi giant Steryotype, CafeIn3Parts. True to its name, it goes through three phases of smooth, chilled out lo-fi hip hop as we’ve come to expect from him. The album also features appearances from PeKaNo, GrazySmash, Paloris, TCB and many more. If you like your electronic music to be chill and uplifting, you’re in for a treat with this album.
[VibePoniez] 7th Stive – Blank | Trip-Hop
There’s a new compilation in town. Track 5 from the newly released VibePoniez album Skyscrapers is Blank, a trip-hop track from 7th Stive. Nothing but chill vibes from this one, as we’re treated to some soft arpeggiated 90s-influenced synths and a low rumbling bass behind a very familiar drum sample. The only thing wrong is that this wasn’t the 7th track. Missed opportunity, guys!
Nicolas Dominique – Dreamshaper | Album | Ambient/Chillout
Nicolas Dominique’s latest ambient album Dreamshaper has just hit the internet, and it features 13 tracks of spacey ambient goodness. Every track features beautiful soft synth pads that really capture the atmosphere of travelling through space and beautifully hypnotic dreamscapes no doubt crafted meticulously by the princess of the night. Being an ambient album, there’s a distinct lack of percussion save for a few moments here and there, although the geneva convention is broken tracks such as Space Walk and the album’s closer, The Worlds Upon Us, which feature catchy drum sequences while remaining atmospheric and trippy. Standout tracks are the title track, The Woolen Incident and the aforementioned Space Walk and The Worlds Upon Us. Chasing Dawn – One | Chill Pop
I absolutely adore this new track from Chasing Dawn!!! Octavia x Vinyl Scratch has been a staple of this fandom for as long as I can remember, and hearing a song about it brings me so much joy! The instrumental is very chill and airy, classic to the Chasing Dawn sound, but it has a bit of that extra drive that you’d expect from a Vinyl song, and I adore that! The lyrics are a magical journey themselves, telling the story of the beautiful love between two ponies with such different lives. I can’t wait for the next tune!
SmD House – Not Allowed | Orchestral / Chillout
SmD House returns after 5 months with Not Allowed, a lovely relaxing piece! The song starts out with some soft orchestral string-esque plucks before building up and adding in some electronic drums to make it sound unique and mysterious! Every piece of soothing synth and catchy drums really makes this feel special. Be sure to also check out their fresh off the presses track To Learn More which is also worth a listen here!
[P@D] Totalspark – What Remains | Liquid Drum & Bass
Totalspark’s style is unique in a way that makes it instantly recognizable, whichever genre they work with as long as it is one you can chill to. Part of the reason for it is the chord progressions and pads in their intros, executed beautifully in this one. In What Remains, Totalspark’s vocals shine once more, delivering the poetry in the lyrics splendidly. You can find it among other wonders on Ponies At Dawn – Ignite.
