For those of you not in the PMV know, LuckyDragon once went by the name TheLightLeavesThee and is best known for making PMVs, but he also makes music, such as The Power of a Queen under the name Hero Pony! His newest song, To The Sky, is an emotional synthwave piece that revolves around Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash. The lyrics have an innocent quality to them, with Scootaloo looking up to her mentor and wanting to fly with her once more, for old time’s sake. The backing music matches this emotional scenario as well as Lucky’s processed and soft voice. Gotta hand it to this guy for making something so beautiful!

SCRATON – Gemshard (Generosity) | Future Bass
NOTE: This post was written by both Blackened and Drake.
I got to hand it to SCRATON for his 5th track of mane six tributes. I don’t think a song has captured Rarity’s personality as well as this one has before! Right off the bat, this song hits you with a generous dose of classy style, starting off with a brief samba-inspired section before jumping into SCRATON’s usual electronic flair. Like the element of generosity herself, this song gives off an aura of beautiful showmanship and funk which honestly fits her character super well. The beat switches it up to where you can picture Rarity having a wonderfully good time dancing it up with fabulous style, but then we’re thrust into another change; an absolutely gorgeous drop with vocal samples that feel like they were meant for Rarity. Overall, this song does well to capture Rarity’s personality, even without words. Time for a party at the Carousel Boutique!
DAϟH – Bet Against The Fire | Gabber/Speedcore
Released on Equestrian Terror Corps (a reference to Rotterdam Terror Corps), a hardcore pony music label, Bet Against The Fire is DAϟH’s latest tune. The title is a quote from Dawn Somewhere’s adaptation of the fanfiction The Star In Yellow by Blueshift. The music gives the same sense of unease the story does, and this is mainly due to the weird melody and the myriad of sounds used, as well as the sample from the aforementioned animation.
Yellow Tune – You And Me | Hardstyle
Happy (very late) Hearts and Hooves day! To celebrate the occasion, here’s a track, free of charge. Yellow Tune’s gifted us a hardstyle song called You And Me, using Cadence and Shining Armor as loving imagery. With the inclusion of lovely female vocals, this is an atmospheric yet bouncy track, feeling like a dancehall that suddenly jumps up in energy! The hardstyle drops are juxtaposed between “softer” Eurobeat-esque synth sections so full of passion with the vocals about one person loves the other before jumping into the heavy drops. Sounds like a lot of love was poured into this one!
Knife Pony – Stay (Light Assassin Remix) | Synthstep
80s synthpop meets 2010s dubstep in this fantastic remix of Knife Pony‘s Stay by Light Assassin. This take on the original is faster and blends synthwave and dubstep with Feather‘s vocal track, including a drop that perfectly combines the two genres. The most beautiful part is the breakdown after the drop with rain sounds and soft arpeggiated synths as Feather sings. It’s a nice change of pace from the original, and certainly refreshing to hear Feather’s voice again. If only she’d come back!
Nicolas Dominique – The Galaxy Made Of Dreams | Ambient
A trip inside Luna’s mind… The Galaxy Made From Dreams is an ambient piece from Nicolas’ upcoming album Dreamshaper, which will feature more ambient tracks like this. This song showcases 80s style synths with more modern gated synths and pads. Behind it all is a faint kick drum which fits perfectly with the bass and creates a sense of security. The song serves as a beautiful soundtrack for a journey through the mind. Can’t wait for the album!
Koron Korak – Pony Daki Addict | DarkSynth
In honor of our very own Makenshi’s 30th birthday, Koron Korak has released a song dedicated to him! Pony Daki Addict is an industrial rock/synthwave piece that features plenty of orchestral elements and samples of Twilight along with it! The driving synth sounds like a distorted guitar which definitely helps with the industrial edge this song brings. What better gift could you think of than music?
SCRATON – Powerhorse (Honesty) | Future Bass
NOTE: This was written by DrakeEmberHeart in conjunction with Blackened.
SCRATON is back again with the 4th track of this series of tunes themed to the the mane 6! Welcome to Honesty. Centred around Applejack, Powerhorse is fitting name for this track, seeing as she’s Equestria’s strongest earth pony. This song does something different with her character. The melody and beats seem to celebrate Applejack’s spirit, utilising an upbeat melody that is fitting of AJ’s strength and hard work. But there is something else. The soft female vocals which are a common theme in these tracks almost seem like Rarity sang them, particularly when “oh darling, please don’t go” pops up in the middle; reminding Applejack to not work so hard, to relax and come with her. The production is fantastic on how good and powerful this song’s honesty is.
Whirlwind – Diamond Mine | Ambient
How many of you know Whirlwind? If you answer is that he is one of the premier drummers in the fandom then you are correct. Now he comes in with more surprises. He has made a few steps into the world of Electronica/EDM/Techno. This track is based on a wonderful dream he had. A dream of journey under Equestria he took with Rarity as his guide. The music translated his dream like magic . His OC is traveling in these wondrous caves seeing different styles of mythical and shiny geo’s with a beautiful mare like rarity. Who is more than happy to talk to you about these stones and keep you company. Ambient is about music that tells a story about emotion and environment. This song does remind me of many video games that resemble this mood. It’s calm, mysterious and relaxing. Give Whirlwind some love, he’s had a rough time as of late at the time of the release of this track. As always this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Toby Macarony – I Wanted To Make You Smile | Hybrid Orchestral
Part of the Shenanigans album, I Wanted To Make You Smile… comes from the darker side of Toby Macarony’s musical production, in the same vein as I’ve Watched You. The piece’s main idea revolves around a piano and twisted Pinkie vocals from the Smile Song. It begins with storm sounds in order to set the tone from the very start, the beautiful sad piano melodies are powerful so as to emphasize on the gravity of whatever happened. The middle section goes even deeper in the dark as the melodies disappear, making way for ominous sound design and gravelly low-pitched vocals from the end of the Smile Song, giving them a monstrous feel. The song then ends how it started. Apart from the fact that we can feel something tragic happened, the song is very much open to interpretation. Are the dreadful events the magnitude of a lost cupcake, or the fruit of Pinkie Pie’s theoretical very dark side?
