Track 31, of P@D: Ignite is another series finale inspired gem I tell ya. This song’s message is quite simple. Friendship, Special ones can change everything. It opens doors. It fills empty holes in yourself. It gives you life again. It saves lives, like it has so many in this fandom. Channeling Twilight from “The last problem”.Foozogz and 4Everfreebrony‘ sing in harmony some powerful stuff. The music itself is a charming and upbeat beat that synths together with a little bit of Pop. Electro and classic rock. Throw in a 80’s style guitar solo just for kicks. Then you have an amazing pop ballad that reminds you what matters in life. It’s a soulful track that brings the reason we love this fandom front and center with good music making at its core. As always. this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Misc
[VibePoniez] 7th Stive – Blank | Trip-Hop
There’s a new compilation in town. Track 5 from the newly released VibePoniez album Skyscrapers is Blank, a trip-hop track from 7th Stive. Nothing but chill vibes from this one, as we’re treated to some soft arpeggiated 90s-influenced synths and a low rumbling bass behind a very familiar drum sample. The only thing wrong is that this wasn’t the 7th track. Missed opportunity, guys!
Hmpoy – My Little Message (Prod. Abrante) | Hip-hop
In 2018 Wootmaster released My Little Mixtape, a compilation album of all of his previous works plus an original, the album opener: Little by Little. The backing beat by Abrante deserved more than one lyricist to pen their verses onto, so Hmpoy remade Wootmaster’s masterpiece, adding their own message. Taking their time therefore never out of breath and always understandable, Hmpoy goes for a different flow but rides the beat seamlessly nonetheless. Further extending a message of hope to the fandom, the bittersweetness acknowledges nevertheless the hardships that have been faced and the ones yet to come. People like Hmpoy are the new generation of peers Wootmaster spoke of in the original.
Acarcion – The Other Side (Prod. TCB) | Hip-Hop
Rapping vocals and lyrics that are Straight From The Heart, Acarcion did so good to express all these feelings by way of this new song released on the brony rap initiative. The cuddly beat from TCB completes the vocals and the emotion so well, and the duo created something meaningful that shines over the community! And as the song says, the ponies from The Other Side are watching too!
Jonny Music & Yensid Organist – Open Up Your Eyes (Organ Cover) | Organ Solo
The MLP movie soundtrack has plenty of bangers, and Open Up Your Eyes is one of them. Jonny Music and Yensid Organist have come together to create a fresh arrangement of the song on a church organ, and good thing too, because this song translates perfectly to the instrument. All of Emily Blunt’s vocal lines, the chords and soft instruments seen in the original fit perfectly here; the organ really captures the menacing tone we heard in the original!
Ardeleiz – I Will See Them Fall (Covering Francis Vace) | Acoustic
The ska song I Will See Them Fall by Francis Vace, released on Ponies At Dawn – Celestial Planes was a delight. Ardeleiz made an acoustic cover of it, their voice solely accompanied by the sound of an acoustic guitar, which they manage to make a great diversity of sounds come out from. The energy of the original is still here, conveyed through the stunningly high quality vocals, but more controlled, serener. A pleasing common trait both the songs share are the Hispanic vibes emanating from them.
[P@D] Wandering Artist – Fire City (Night & Day) | Orchestral
We’ve had all kinds of music already showcased on P@D: Ignite. Rock, Rap and the many genre’s of dance music. So track 72 of the album. I bring you some breathtaking orchestra scores! Wandering Artist brings the sequel to his score “Sky City. With night being serene with small builds up with the arrangement, of the strings and brass with night sounds mixed in there for a nice touch. As the sun comes out the score becomes more vibrant showcasing more uses of the strings, brass and piano. I feel like you on the back of Luna as she charges through the night and into the day where you join Celestia in full run. This sounds like something out of classic JRPG and is just wow. I think anyone can get behind musical scores such as this. This was a nice piece for this album!. As always, This Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
[P@D] Pegskasister – Pegasus Ska Sisters | Ska Punk
So Francis Vace and PegasYs. You love the Mighty Mighty Bosstones so much that you made a Rainbow Dash inspired Ska punk track for P@D: Ignite? Well far out dudes!. At Track 52. The Duo known as the Pegskasisters come flying back with an uptempo track of what it seems like, the Pegasus ponies of ponyville seeing how far Rainbow Dash will go with her flying skill. The lyrics by PegasYs are so fun and catchy. Making references of kinds of RD’s skill of flying over the 9 seasons of the show. Francis Vase does the amazing part of the role of a whole ska band with all of the elements of Big Band and Punk rock. The man is called a legend of instrumentals for a reason, and does not disappoint here. There is even a breakdown of hard punk riffs that ends the track on a Sonic Rainboom! As always, This Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Chasing Dawn – One | Chill Pop
I absolutely adore this new track from Chasing Dawn!!! Octavia x Vinyl Scratch has been a staple of this fandom for as long as I can remember, and hearing a song about it brings me so much joy! The instrumental is very chill and airy, classic to the Chasing Dawn sound, but it has a bit of that extra drive that you’d expect from a Vinyl song, and I adore that! The lyrics are a magical journey themselves, telling the story of the beautiful love between two ponies with such different lives. I can’t wait for the next tune!
[P@D] BlueBrony – The Sacking of Griffonstone (feat. CadetRedShirt) | Soundtrack
Time to turn out the lights for such an extravagant listening experience. Track 59 from Ponies at Dawn: Ignite is The Sacking of Griffonstone, a soundtrack composition from BlueBrony featuring the vocal talents of CadetRedShirt. This piece tells a story about the fall of Griffonstone just through the power of music. Beginning with a brooding set of strings, the duo’s voices sing in unison in an eerie fashion as the music builds up with satisfying crescendos all around. Overall, it paints a brutal mental image of the land crumbling, leaving what was once a beautiful city in ruin.
