Two more awesome orchestral tracks from Guardians. We start off with this orchestral / metal fusion from Frozen Night who never fails to impress me with their combination of guitars and epic cinematic strings and drums.
And to follow up, a much more chill, yet also haunting (visually as well as acoustically) piece from the ever-inspired group Fellowship Symphonies. And with great artwork to match, this piece was a great way to draw Guardians to a close.
I hadn’t realised until recently just how much music Ataraxia has put out over the past couple of years. From solo piano sonatas to cinematic electronic pop songs, there’s been quite a variety. But like all good things, the alias is coming to an end, and as a parting gift he gives us Motion Reimagined – deliberately named so as a ‘rework’ of sorts of his previous album Eternal Perfect Motion. The album often takes a more experimental approach to music production than Ataraxia’s previous work, in particular the VIP of Viridescent, and features a couple of other people’s remixes of notable songs too.
It’s a great parting gift. We’ll miss you Ataraxia. Thanks for all the music.
TCB is an upcoming artist that released a lot of interesting Dubstep experiments, including NightMares, their latest EP! The experimentation and the mixing in this EP are pretty good. I would say that Daybreaker is the highlights in this EP that describes the evil versions of the Royal Sisters and Twilight Sparkle. I recommend this EP for those who are into to some really experimental, melodic, aggressive Dubstep or Riddim.
We’ve got a real mishmash of both genres and nationalities in this one here. Jyc and Lia have often been featured both here on the site and on Ponies At Dawn albums in the past, but I believe this is the first time I’ve seen Kjellska’s name anywhere, and her sweet Japanese vocals are a welcome addition to the track! This one starts off as an orchestral piece but drops into some melodic dubstep and flows back and forth between the two for the duration of the song.
InklingBear already covered this in his hugerwiteup of Vylet’s new album, Mystic Acoustics, but I thought this would be a particularly cool track to highlight individually. Not only is it the pinnacle of “fuck genres”, but having an entire animated video for it too is incredible, huge props to alumx for his work on it! Most of you have probably already seen this, but go watch it again anyway…you know it’s worth it.
The comment “assassins creed: horses” is pretty apt tbh
The team behind the trancey chill pony themed promo channel A State of Sugar have came together around 6 months ago to organise the collaborative’s first album. Now the album is finally ready, featuring both some of the regulars to the channel and a few new artists to the scene too! In total this one reaches 21 tracks, so if you’re still overwhelmed by the size of the Ponies At Dawn albums, this is something a little more digestible but still completely fresh for you to try out.
Lollipop is available to download from A State of Sugar’s Bandcamp page, and keep an eye out for some of the songs from it here on the site.
Bank Pain and DJT has brought us an amazing mixture of dubstep and trap music all in one true and amazing banger. And of course what’s a banger without some hot vocals from Wootmaster himself? These three are amazing together and totally something you won’t regret listening to. They’ve got some tricks up their hooves throughout so you may be surprised with what they throw at your ears!
My favorite pony band The Wonderbolts are going to perform at BronyCon and along these awesome news they’re treating us with an exclusive song proudly wearing a much Punk Rock title, Love and Tolerance is Dead! You can always count on Wootmaster, Arin, and the rest of the band to deliver the most delightful pony spirit in a tasteful rock fashion by making the amps scream and the guitars gently weep, and this one is no exception! Wootmaster’s lovely vocals are evolving from his signature style to a much more Classic Rock approach through the progression of the song and that is definitely an amazing surprise, with Classic Rock passion from the musician and singer shining through the masterful and nostalgic vocals that definitely make for a lot of emotion. Along catchy riffs and crazy drum work, the song lays out such a sweet and delectable vibe full of the power of rock music, and then it is time for the solo part to blow us away in a swirl of emotion, as lead guitar, rythm guitar, and bass guitar all complete each other for a stunning result. As the icing on the cake, the “Let’s Go!” sample from the Discovery Family MLP teasers is also present!! Truly a wonderful moment of merriment, musical appreciation and pony feelings courtesy of The Wonderbolts.
Here’s something groovy from the one and only PegasYs. With real cute chiptune melodies and smooth sound design, and even go-go bells! Despite the song itself is only three minutes exactly, It’s still such a really bootyful track to listen to, especially in the good ol’ summertime. Now, ready to hit up the beach and play some ball?
Yooo! Some drumstep in Ponies @ Dawn? Hecks yeah! Go deep into the mysterious woods with Crystarium and R3ctifier with this exotic little banger. With awesome arrays of great sounding, crisp wubs and interesting trap-like sections of beats are definitely sure to get you off your tail and bop your head back and forth for a while.
