I’m far from the first person to say this sounds like Owl City, but it really does seem like a track off Ocean Eyes! Even though the upbeat and danceable instrumentation is fantastic in itself, it’s SpinScissor’s vocal performance that really shines through on this song. The dynamic range between the soft-spoken verses and shouted choruses, the tastefully tuned vocals, the little touches of call and response lyrics; it all comes together to make an excellent song!

H8_Seed – The Pickup (PegasYs Remix) | Pop
Is it a remix? Is it a cover? Doesn’t matter, it’s just great! PegasYs’s take on H8_Seed’s fandom favourite showcases a production style somewhat reminiscent of the original. It’s outside the norm for what I’m used to from Pega but he’s managed to put his own spin on it with his own solos performed as well. And did I mention the vocal processing? Not just the use of talkbox (which is always appreciated), but the way pre-chorus hits gives me chills! Take a listen for a new spin on an old classic!
Daniel Ingram – Flawless (Songbird Choir Remix) | Electro Pop
Flawless was one of those songs with one of the most thought-provoking messages in the show. Daniel Ingram provided a dramatic touch in how the mane 6 understood themselves so much. The music itself was bold, deep, and intimate in the mane six being so unafraid in expressing their character flaws. Songbird, instead of going to that level of grandeur, here opts here for a more toe-tapping melody. The same emotion is there, but it’s more lightly and subtly in the theme. The piano and the profound use of these deep synth harmonies within the melody, at almost horn-like beep-boop thunder, roll with the ups and downs. It’s very different from Daniel’s track, but honestly, it gives way the same deep and personal touch with the mane six expressing themselves to the world about this subject. It’s what you honesty expect from someone like Songbird Choir to stand out in this manner!
MathematicPony – Inspiration | Pop
Did you know that Rarity’s element of harmony was originally planned to be Inspiration instead of generosity? MathematicPony knows that, and created a vibe that only she could imagine! With a quick-running synth playing throughout, Math brings out the anxiety of work and pressure to meet personal goals and standards as the instrument persists in the background of the song. A contemporary pop mix sets the stage for passionate vocals telling the relatable message of a pony working hard and staying up late to complete important projects; dealing with the existential wonder of inspiration, aspiration, and legacy.
4everfreebrony – Friendship/Loyalty (feat. RE:MAKE) | Pop Rock
2 songs for the price of 1! This mashup cover from 2020 finally gets its own release to celebrate the long-awaited release of RE:MAKE’s ELEMENTS album (don’t worry, we’ll get round to posting that in time)! 4EFB’s rendition of these two fandom classics has a bit of an “unplugged” feel to it. The heavy electronic drums from the former and distorted guitars from the latter make way instead for acoustic guitar, brushed drums and I believe a cello. We also get treated to Jimmy from RE:MAKE’s guest vocals for this special rendition! Go take a listen and watch this space for more about ELEMENTS… 👀
SOUND BANDIT – DIMENSIONAL (ft. NIKEDUNK & GULO) | Hyperpop
SOUND BANDIT never ceases to amaze me with their production and visuals. A slower, heavier tune, this one has a powerful trap influenced feeling and the occasional heavily processed MLP sample. The vocals have a lot going on. From distorted melodic riffs to the rhythmic pitch glides, ‘DIMENSIONAL’ is a short, yet powerful song.
4EverfreeBrony – By The Wind (feat. MEMJ0123, Metajoker, Whirldwind, & CyrilTheWolf) | Pop Rock
No stranger to making fun, upbeat pop rock songs, 4EverfreeBrony’s newest track, By The Wind, offers a fresh display of his finely-honed talent. Insightful lyrics delivered with pristine vocal harmonies by 4EverfreeBrony and MEMJ0123 are supercharged by energetic piano, drums, and bass provided by Metajoker, Whirldwind, and CyrilTheWolf, respectively. Together, these talented musicians tell a poignant and relatable story of a couple sailing across the ocean, blown by strong winds of epic change. The couple is scarred and rowing hard, unsure of their survival and uncertain of the future. The remixes of Pull Over keep coming, with Nel Fie the latest to release theirs. This one gives a big focus to the vocals, with plenty of lovely supporting instrumentation to push a more pop-y feel to the track. Especially enjoyable are the cute little synths that play some very fun melodies, as well as the original art painted by Nel Fie that fits perfectly with the rest of the track!
Childlike Wonder – Slice of Life | Pop
Childlike Wonder’s been on a roll with their MLP-inspired songs! Following on from Sparkle, we now get another fun poppy song, this time picturing some of the little moments that might make up Lyra and Bon Bon’s relationship. Cute music about a cute couple, go take a listen!
