Ponies At Dawn – Anthology | Compilation Album | Multi-Genre

It’s been a big year for Ponies At Dawn; January saw an ambitious project of an album composed entire of collabs, covers and remixes; June marked the release of Guardians, the biggest main album to date; now they’re back with something special.

Anthology isn’t like any of the other albums. The first half of the album is a collection of brand new tracks from P@D favourites such as DJT, UndreamedPanic, Silver Note, Frozen Night, Exiark and many more! The second half brings some of the best songs from all the past albums released by the collective, as chosen by the staff who put the albums together.

But that’s not all. Something that’s been requested for a long time by fans of the P@D albums is a physical release. Well merch fanatics, your wish has been granted!

This limited edition 3CD release features half of the new tracks (they couldn’t fit it all in!) on one disc and all the of the “golden oldies” on the other two. If you’re as big a fan of Ponies At Dawn as I am, don’t pass up the chance to get your hands on one of these!

Anthology is available to download for free on the Ponies At Dawn bandcamp page, and the CDs are available to purchase for $20, and are due to be shipped in early November.

Ponytronic – Times Like These (The Remixes) EP | Electronic

If I remember correctly, Ponytronic gained an affinity earlier this year for a certain couple of music ponies after reading a well-known fanfiction about them. Shortly afterwards, his song Times Like These was released – a smooth liquid dnb piece about the duo, perhaps one of his best songs to date. Now after a couple of months of an open contest, he’s proud to present the Times Like These Remixes EP!

Featuring a variety of genres, from more dnb reworks to a hip-hop remix and even a couple of really left-of-field genres, this EP has both some regular names to the brony music community and some people just breaking out into the scene. It’s also seemingly a chance for some artist to break out into new genres – I’ve never heard Metapony do Drum & Bass or UndreamedPanic do hip-hop before! Definitely give this EP a listen, you might just find a new artist or style that you’d be interested in.

Times Like These (The Remixes) EP is available to download for free on Ponytronic’s bandcamp.

PS: The music box rendition at the end is a super cute addition to the album :3

Einarx – Invaders (Dj Shadow Music Remix) | Brostep

Einarx’s Invaders was an absolutely epic surprise. I haven’t encountered Shadow Music before this, but I’m completely taken by his excellent take on Invaders! It opens with a bit of static, something I love. Once the song proper starts, a myriad collection of eerie ambient effects combine for a downright awesome mix.

We’re back again! This month’s episode features not only a very eclectic mix of new and older artists to the fandom, but an (in my opinion) exceptionally strong orchestral game. Such all-time masterpieces as Synthis’ Dreamchaser Stargazer will always get more love over time, and ertrii’s delightful Chill House remix is definitely a much joyous occasion. Showcasing Synthis’ divine and emotional vocals, the remix lays out ertrii’s talent at chill music and makes for a wonderful re-awakening of the original.

TCB – Monophobia (Hay Tea Remix) | Drum & Bass

Hay Tea puts a nice spin on a track from TCB‘s Cutie Cuts EP in this remix. Hay Tea’s smooth drum and bass style is complemented nicely by TCB’s vocal chops. I love reimagination of the original as drum and bass, and the character and emotions from the original are preserved perfectly in this remix. It’s a song you should check out!

Seventh Element – PONI GRL | UK Garage

Remixing Tridashie’s Pony Girl, Seventh Element delivers a weird experiment that is really awesome and danceable! The drums are really well performed, the sampling of the vocals and the distortion of the same of the same is also really clever! Along with some really awesome wubs making this has some Dubstep elements mixed with the dominant Garage/House element! It also features the visuals with the weird dancing Twilight from Ponies: The Anthology VI created by DeadlyComics! This song is really funny, danceable and amazing! You should really check it out!

Dream Cloud – Serenity (FruityFusion Remix) | House

With the legendary pony MMO Legends of Equestria having finally reached its permanent release, what a better way to celebrate than to party hard as ponies inside Ponydale’s Sugarcane Corner… and to rediscover the BGMs from the game with crafty remixes! This one sure is a delight to get. FruityFusion’s take on the memorable field theme for Cloudopolis by LoE composer Dream Cloud sure is banging, with the original melodies and aerial, icy sound design being born anew and accompanied by tasty beats, percs and basses for a remix that you’d want to party to at some pony rave! Come say hi if you see me in the game, my main pony is White Cloud but I am also known as Mellow Dream, a spa pony who’s addicted to Sugarcane Corner’s beats-filled parties!
