We’ve all had a time when we felt weak and lost faith in ourselves, but these pains will fade away only if we choose to remain hopeful. Whether it be for someone special or our future, there is always a reason for us to live freely and pursue what we desire, just like this exuberant metalcore banger “Reasons to Live”. Collaboratively created by Mare in the Rain and ChaosAngel, this energetic tune and its thought-provoking lyrics inspire us to reflect on our life and aspiration. But the scream and growl don’t stop there as an upcoming dramatic twist immediately brings life to this metal masterpiece and releases countless emotions in a billion shades and tones. Regardless of what they are, there are always a million reasons to scream out our dreams, unleash our sentiments, and live the life we want. It is something that keeps us strong, something that keeps us and our dreams alive, and this song has exactly demonstrated such. Give this song a listen if you’re searching for something to spark hope and energy in your life!
Rock
Blurain – Breaking The Day | Alt. Rock
It is always nice to see a new name dip their toe (hoof?) in the brony music scene, especially when they’ve been a part of the fandom for nearly a decade prior. Blurain’s second pony track “Breaking the Day” features an amazing buildup to brilliant overlaying vocals/harmonies as well as showcases his incredible talent at the guitar. However, it is the overall message of the song that shines the brightest to me as it speaks of Daybreaker’s persuasion to let Celestia unleash her “darker” side. Umm, yes please! Absolutely perfect in conjunction to his guitar style. I certainly cannot wait to see what other pieces Blurain has in store for the future.
El Nulevoe – Power Metal Carton Horse 2: The Powering | Power Metal
CW: plenty of explicit lyrics
Okay, so El Nulevoe is back with a sequel to his “Power Metal Carton Horse”, aptly named “Power Metal Carton Horse 2: The Powering.” It’s an epic story of the protagonist as he races to warn Princess Celestia of incoming attacks from both King Sombra and Nightmare Moon! The energy level of the track is so high that you’ll be thrashing as hard as you’re laughing with its insane guitar riffs and irreverent lyrics about this “brave hero, whatever his name is.” There’s plenty of witty wordplay throughout, and it even breaks the fourth wall, adding to the humor. It ends with an amazing guitar solo, but is it enough for our hero to succeed? Make sure to tune in to find out!
EveryDayDashie – My Little Pony Mega Rock ‘N’ Roll | Symphonic Rock
There seems to be no end to the genres that EveryDayDashie is willing to try out! This time he’s trying out a symphonic rock with a medley of the different My Little Pony themes across the generations to celebrate the brand’s 40th anniversary. There’s literally something for every pony fan in this song, regardless of when you joined the ride!
HaNaVa – Not Much to Miss (covering 4Everfreebrony & EilyMonty) | Pop Rock
Coming out of nowhere HaNaVa brings us this amazing covering of a 4Everfreebrony classic, performing/recording everything except the drums live, and it sounds wonderful! It’s no secret that covers aren’t easy to do, but HaNaVa definitely nailed it! Managing a stunning sound in the instruments and gorgeous vocals they absolutely did the original justice and I’m looking forward to more from them!
PrinceWhateverer – Spare Me! (ft. Rarity [BGM]) | Metal
Prince back at it again with another ABSOLUTE banger. This time, featuring our beloved fashion horse; Rarity (voiced using TalkNet). And let me tell you, she DEFINITLY has a few things to say throughout this epic metal track, about fakeness and how obtuse people can be. It can take a lot from people who constantly have to surround themselves with such folk. I am so glad Rarity expresses that throughout this song together with Prince and BGM! The guitar work is once again phenomenal, the chorus is an absolute bastion of epicness, and the vocals of both NAIL it!
Daniel Ingram – Awesome As I Wanna Be [NAMII Cover] | Pop-Punk
Namii’s first track of the new year is a rocking pop-punk cover of “Awesome As I Wanna Be” from Rainbow Rocks. With Namii’s spectacular performance, its tight production, and the creative background vocals, its energy is so high that Namii might have even outdone Rainbow Dash as she teases in a new original verse, “move so slick you’ll lose your god damn mind!” And luckily, Sunset Shimmer didn’t think to sabotage her, allowing us all to enjoy this heck of a banger!
Jyc Row – Apostles of the Sacred Fire (Ayzat the Wingless theme) [elg. Gabriel Borza] | Symphonic Metal
The ONE and ONLY Jyc Row, ONCE AGAIN delivers another wonderful tune for us to enjoy and cherish, featuring the talent of Gabriel Borza! If your hype & excitement for Infinite Eclipse wasn’t there yet, I am sure it will after hearing this absolute FIRESPARK of a song! Representing the sacred fire of the Kirins, Jyc & Gabriel unleash its fury through your speakers! With majestic orchestral and outstanding guitar works becoming ONE to bring you another piece originating from this epic story! Feel free to embrace it and just be in the moment. Marvellously done Jyc & Gabriel!
EveryDayDashie – Pezuña al Corazón | Latin Rock
Here we go!~ with this lovely tune made by the oh so amazing EveryDayDashie! I knew that Dashie was amazing in EVERY direction he goes when talking music…but Latin Rock? That’s just amazing! I believe, it truly speaks volumes on how talented this person is! Dashie delivers us today; Pezuña al Corazón. Which is Spanish for “hoof to heart”. A TRUE code to live by, and expressed wonderfully throughout this song with an out-of-this-world passion for G5 with a Latin tint added unto it! Epic vocals, epic drums, wonderful melodies! It’s ALWAYS a pleasure to write for Dashie. Keep being you, and keep spreading your wonderful messages of love and endearment for the ponies we love!
MC-Arch & PrinceWhateverer – Yay on! (feat. Drummershy, BlackenedBlue, SnugBugVA & Namii) | Rock / Hip Hop
MC-Arch and PrinceWhateverer’s first track of the new year is a collaboration powerhouse featuring not only these two legends, but also Drummershy, BlackenedBlue, SnugBugVa, and Namii! The track begins with mellow e-piano vibes and the incredible rapping talent of MC-Arch. Then a minute in, the electric guitars kick in, along with a couple of chiptune-esque synths and a drum feature, creating an incredible cross-genre texture unique to this song. My favorite bit though is the duet between MC-Arch and PrinceWhateverer singing, “You deserve love.” It’s simply gorgeous and a fantastic message to everypony listening!
This track will be featured on the third installment of “You got me, I go us”, so make sure to check that out when it drops later this year.
