Right in time for Hearth’s Warming, MelodyBrony rushes (heh) back into the scene with an appropriately speedy song for the season, Better Rush! Crusader! – Firelight (Covering Aurelleah & John Kenza) (feat. PegasYs) | Folk

Today everypony we have an awesome remix by Crusader! of a classic. Crusader! has the perfect voice for a happy upbeat cover of this amazing song. The track starts with a lovely Melodica solo accompanied by a little guitar until Crusader! begins singing the amazing lyrics, which are now mostly accompanied by the guitar. As we near the drop the guitar nearly completely disappears until the drop. Oh the drop–what I haven’t mentioned yet is that Crusader! doesn’t use any of the original synths or drum loops, and the effect is that, especially in the drop, with the guitar and the Melodica going wild, it feels like a whole new song! After we return to the lyrics Crusader! surprises us once more by all of a sudden adding claps, hammering in the campfire vibe. The claps disappear as we near the drop. Leading with the classical Crusader! GO!,  we get an even more beefed up version of the drop than before, this time with the addition of the claps and even more. For the finish we first get a combination of both vocals and the drop before the outro takes us home with some more awesome singing.
So time for some more detail gushing!
You might have realized it or not (it certainly took me a few listens through), but at some points Crusader! accentuates the lyrics a bit differently than PegasYs did in the original, making for a small but all the more amazing difference that helps make this feel like a whole new song. In addition to all the things I mentioned above you can also at times hear a clarinet playing as a bit of a background melody.

Once more thanks to my friend thecanderson for proofreading and happy holidays to all of you!

SnowShovel and Forest Rain – Luna (Alt. Mode) (Covering Odyssey Eurobeat) | Hard Rock

Known for his Rocksmith charts of PrinceWhateverer songs, SnowShovel96 makes his musical debut with Luna (Alt Mode), a cover of the Odyssey classic! Joining him is Forest Rain, who really completes this project with her powerful voice. This cover is actually based on her own interpretation of the song: a fast-paced rock track all about the princess of the night. I love how punchy and strong everything converges here, from the crunchy guitars to the grit in Forest’s voice, even those additional lyrics in the second verse! We can only hope the future holds great things for SnowShovel; he’s left a brilliant first impression.

Skyshard – The Adventure (feat. Zelizine) (Covering Aviators) | Soft Rock

(Listen to the classic here!)
Man! Right about now we could all use some good vibes. This year has been a load to deal with, and an Aviators cover may just be the thing for you. Staying faithful to the lyrics and vibe, Skyshard, with the aid of Zelizine, gives this classic some soft rock love, mixing light and flavorful electrical guitar and some awesome keyboard and harmonics. The icing on the cake is Zeli’s vocals, which are stellar in this cover. The song is about friends that you can trust and lean on, something that is so necessary in this day and age. As always this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

Dandelion & Flash – Flower Power Friendship | Psychedelic Rock

Dandelion is sharing some more Psychedelic Rock pieces lately and it’s such a delight for the fan of 70s rock that I am! This one is lovingly using Fluttershy vocal samples to make a “Fluttershy Boo-Hoo edition” (I sure got that reference!) and the result is so nostalgic and refreshing at the same time!

MelodyBrony – I’m Not Gay (feat. Acouste Wholenote and Blackened Blue) (Covering PrinceWhateverer & Djohn Mema) | Pop Punk

Lol! What a way to revive an absolute fandom CLASSIC!! The original parody of My Chemical Romance’s “I’m Not Okay” took the fandom by storm last year, and this cover does a great job of keeping the energy going! The more instrumental focus makes for a wild and new experience, especially if you liked the original. I do wonder how Slightly Amiss feels about this… I love this fandom XD just remember: it’s not gay 😉

[P@D] 4everfreebrony – This Is What It’s Like (feat. Envia Sun, SaxPon3, and TheMusicReborn) | Alternative Rock

Track 3 from Ponies at Dawn: Eclipse is This Is What It’s Like, the first of three appearances of 4everfreebrony (along with Envia Sun, SaxPon3 and TheMusicReborn) on the album! The song depicts a scenario where Celestia visits the moon while Luna’s still imprisoned there, to see how she’s hanging on. Celestia here is portrayed by Envia Sun, and her voice is absolutely spectacular. She really completes this piece, making this happy-but-secretly-sad song sounding amazing. If that’s your thing, you’ll love this!

BlueBrony and Totalspark (the latter’s second of two contributions) join forces to create something unique as part of Ponies at Dawn: Eclipse: a unique combination of orchestral music and dubstep! It really captures the feeling of an intense spy mission, especially when the surprising rock elements make their way in!
