Fan songs in response to certain episodes are always so lovely to see, and the awesome duo of Quicksilver and Francis Vace is back again as Luna Ticks for the most wonderful take on S09E16 A Trivial Pursuit! With meaningful vocals sung in such a lovely and heartfelt way, powerful guitar riffs reaching to the heavens, and just perfect lyrics accompanied by fitting scenes from the episode in the PMV-like visuals, Ring the Bell is an essential piece from Luna Ticks that is such a delightful gift and token of pony passion!

[P@D] SDreamExplorerS – Vessel | Soft Rock
SDreamExplorerS brings about an ever-explorative rock piece. With a catchy opening riff, it immediately gratifies clicking on. Then to be followed by the benevolent vocals and the stiffening yet ambient distorted guitars atop it all. This thorough Ponies at Dawn release does some very inventive stuff, with notes and chords occasionally jumping to unexpected places. If you’re looking for a refreshing yet familiar song, this’ll fit in your rotation like matching pieces of a puzzle.
4everfreebrony – Soldiers of The Night (covering SlyphStorm) | Rock
There is something so satisfying about this song; perhaps it’s the incredible lyrics and melody, or maybe it’s the music that fits so perfectly with those lyrics, or maybe it’s both! Everything in this song fits so well together, it’s catchy, and, it’s about Luna. What more would anyone need?
StableTwoStallion – Alptraum Mond | Industrial Gothic Metal
For nightmare Night, StableTwoStallion fittingly explored Nightmate Moon’s psyche again, and the result is a breathtaking piece in his signature style that features such impressive vocals as well as some references that you may or may not get! A very appreciated treat!
[P@D] Francis Vace – My Rainbow Horse And Me | Ska Punk
The king of pony ska punk is back at it with this standout track from the newest Ponies at Dawn: Eternal compilation album. My Rainbow Horse And Me is a comedic narrative about Rainbow Dash appearing out of the tv and living as a lazy roommate. The song is super catchy, boasting expertly crafted horns, top-notch guitar work, and a silly, romantic theme that only Francis could craft!
Ponyville Ciderfest – 2019 Official Convention Album | Compilation Album | Multi-Genre
Ponyville Ciderfest, the MLP:FiM convention coming up this week in Milwaukee, Wisconsin has just released a new compilation album featuring many of the musicians that will perform at the big concert! This year, the convention is holiday-themed and several of the songs on this album are new or remastered holiday tracks! The range of music is extremely diverse and flows very nicely from start to finish. Here are just a few of the many highlights on the album.
The first track is an unreleased song from Vocal Score and really sets the stage for the whole CD. Extremely festive and flowing beautifully into The Heart Carol from the original Hearth’s Warming Episode.
Prince Whateverer makes a few appearances on the Holiday Album, most notably with his new metal cover of the classic, Nightmare Night. John Kenza and loophoof, who will be performing a back-2-back together, feature remixes of each other’s songs. Galen of the Wonderbolts band and Brilliant Venture release brand new holiday hits. MC Arch also has a brand new and powerful track entitled Oathkeeper.
Other well-recognized names include 4everfreebrony, Black Gryph0n and Baasik, JoinedTheHerd with CadetRedShirt, Seventh Element, Nevermourn & TCB, MelodyBrony, Francis Vace, and more!
All proceeds go to Generations Against Bullying – the Ciderfest charity which aims to reduce childhood bullying through research and education, so be sure to help out if you can!
Osoch – Gimme R D (Covering ismBoF) | Metal
Inspired in his early fandom days by IsmBoF’s original, Osoch has developed his skills greatly in the years following and created the arguably definitive version of Gimme R D! Just about everything, from the guitar tones to the varied percussion, has been refined but nowhere does it lose the soul of the classic original song. Another wonderful addition to the Osoch catalog!
[P@D] NeverLastStanding – To Home | Rock / Happy Hardcore
Track 6 of Ponies at Dawn: Eternal is the album’s first rock-driven song, and serves as a brilliant tribute to the show. All throughout the song are fast-paced drums, major key synths and to top it all off, MLP vocal chops which are even spliced together to make new lyrics. The song also has three different phases, starting off which electronically-charged rock music reminiscent of an anime, a brief orchestral segment to slow things down, and then towards the end, a big build up before going into a fully electronic motif lead by a powerful kick sound in front of the cheery synths. The track makes it clear that the show has left its mark on us, and it feels like the mane 6 are singing directly to us!
4everfreebrony – Someone Like Me (covering Aviators) | Soft Rock
4everfreebrony returns, this time with a brilliant cover of Aviators‘ classic track Someone Like Me! 4efb’s take on the original feels just as emotional, though with a more guitar-driven backing; it sounds like a band playing live in a studio. It’s hard to go wrong with his covers, and this one’s a good example as to why.
Thrasher – Blackened Eyes (feat. Night Crow) | Black Metal
Thrasher is back with a bang, showcasing some intense black/doom style metal featuring the help of Night Crow, a regular collaborating partner for him. Intense scream/growl vocals combine with heavy chugging guitars and impactful percussion, along with a clever throwback to the melody of Rainbow Factory as well.
