Ponies At Dawn – Memories | Compilation Album | Multi-Genre

Another P@D album? And so soon too! But there’s a difference with this new one. Memories is a compilation of songs previously released as singles by various artists from the Ponies At Dawn collective, brought together as an alternative representation of the collective, and with a charitable initiative too.

All the money raised from this album will be donated to Save the Children (specifically the Australian branch), an international charity that promotes children’s rights, provides relief and helps support children in developing countries.

You can still download this compilation album for free from the Ponies At Dawn bandcamp page if you’re unable to donate, but if you are able to, thanks for helping a charitable cause! Enjoy the music and relive the memories these songs bring back to you!

Vylet Pony – In A Rush | Indie Pop

Certainly another token of Vylet’s talent and progress as a musician, In A Rush is a meaningful tune with quite the backstory (read the description). The song brings forward blissful and gorgeous vocals, with an equally beautiful instrumental of many influences. The clean and indie percussions are reminding of Two Door Cinema Club’s take at Indie Rock, while Electronic flavors are definitely present as well. An all-around masterpiece!

Francis Vace – Rainbow (Covering Sia) | Ska

The movie’s Rainbow is reaching far and wide among community musicians, and as beautifully as a sonic rainboom, with now Francis Vace’s gorgeous and inspired Ska cover adding to the many shades of colors. The vocals are just making me melt, while the tasteful instrumental shines bright with the musician’s signature style, and it all delivers such a magnificent and high-energy Ska rendition of the movie’s finale song!

Seventh Element – The Equestrian Wasteland – Part 1: Hope And Despair | Album | Post-Rock

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 22 November 2017.

Seventh Element makes some cool tunes, but where he really excels is in the creation of concept albums such as this. With a combination of spooky ambient soundscapes and driving indie rock beats, this album definitely helps to visualise the desolate landscapes of Fallout Equestria. Check it out below for half an hour of hope and despair!

Rockin’Brony – Open Up Your Eyes (covering Daniel Ingram) | Symphonic Metal

Editor’s note: Hooray, his channel is back, we can post this now!

Rockin’Brony delivers an amazing cover of one of my favorite songs from the movie! And the genre/concept for the recreation of the songs was pretty well chosen. Symphonic Metal is a really complex genre and a amazing experience listening to!

Rockin’s vocals are really amazing, the way that he delivers emotion and dedication to the vocals it’s clearly awesome, the symphonic elements of the cover are really well performed as well as the drums. All the song parts are really well performed, including the symphonic solo and the awesome guitar solo, one of the principal characteristics of Rockin’s tracks, amazing and headbanging guitar solos!

Amazing cover you done here, keep up the good work my friend!

D1scordant – A Mountain Stood | Industrial Metal

Remember how terrifying and intimidating Tirek got to be? D1SCORDANT definitely does! This track really brings to life the kind of world where Tirek is in charge. The heavy riffs combined with hard snare hits at just the right time create an atmosphere of total destruction. Add in an eerie synth looming over the piece and you’ve got an industrial metal hit!

Przewalski’s Ponies – Lunar Song ii | Alt. Rock

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 17 November 2017.

Russian-based band Przewalski’s Ponies have another new collaborative work out, and it’s pretty epic! A pop-y rock track that features some epic guitar solo work and some solid vocals throughout, it’s a fun piece for sure. Songs about Luna are always great to see, and this is definitely one of the cooler ones in recent times.
