A State of Sugar – Lollipop | Compilation Album | Multi-Genre

The team behind the trancey chill pony themed promo channel A State of Sugar have came together around 6 months ago to organise the collaborative’s first album. Now the album is finally ready, featuring both some of the regulars to the channel and a few new artists to the scene too! In total this one reaches 21 tracks, so if you’re still overwhelmed by the size of the Ponies At Dawn albums, this is something a little more digestible but still completely fresh for you to try out.

Lollipop is available to download from A State of Sugar’s Bandcamp page, and keep an eye out for some of the songs from it here on the site.

The Wonderbolts – Love and Tolerance is Dead | Classic Rock

My favorite pony band The Wonderbolts are going to perform at BronyCon and along these awesome news they’re treating us with an exclusive song proudly wearing a much Punk Rock title, Love and Tolerance is Dead! You can always count on Wootmaster, Arin, and the rest of the band to deliver the most delightful pony spirit in a tasteful rock fashion by making the amps scream and the guitars gently weep, and this one is no exception! Wootmaster’s lovely vocals are evolving from his signature style to a much more Classic Rock approach through the progression of the song and that is definitely an amazing surprise, with Classic Rock passion from the musician and singer shining through the masterful and nostalgic vocals that definitely make for a lot of emotion. Along catchy riffs and crazy drum work, the song lays out such a sweet and delectable vibe full of the power of rock music, and then it is time for the solo part to blow us away in a swirl of emotion, as lead guitar, rythm guitar, and bass guitar all complete each other for a stunning result. As the icing on the cake, the “Let’s Go!” sample from the Discovery Family MLP teasers is also present!! Truly a wonderful moment of merriment, musical appreciation and pony feelings courtesy of The Wonderbolts.

[P@D] The Wasteland Wailers – I’m in Love (feat. Haymaker) | Acoustic / Country

When I first heard this, I knew it sounded familiar, and indeed it’s actually a new and ever so amazing rendition of one of Haymaker’s older soundcloud songs! Now go and listen to his sweet sweet voice and let it melt your soul to the very core.

Sable Symphony – Trepidation | Electronicore

When Sable Symphony (formerly MetalPony) is trying his hoof at Electronicore / Trancecore, and when it’s for a deep track focusing on Starlight’s character depth, you can be sure the result will have many wonders and be quite enjoyable! Overreaching all expectations, the musician comes up with a progressive piece where the musical inspirations are making for amazing experimentations, and where pony feelings and reactions to S07E10 A Royal Problem are giving life to an awesome tribute to our beloved Starlight, who definitely harnessed a lot of fans by showing her emotions and relatable weaknesses so earnestly inside that dream. A masterpiece of a track blending musical genres!

ShinZm – Can’t Stop Us | Metal

An unreleased gem from ShinZm, this one shines bright with the power of rock music with a delightful Metal instrumental where rythm guitar and lead guitar are completing each other in an explosion of epicness. Full of happy vibes, the progression of the track holds some surprises, with a favorite of mine, a cover of the melodies from the show song Find A Pet at the end!

The Ponytones – I Want to Hold Your Hoof | Classic Rock

The Ponytones is a collaboration of pony music lovers to ponify famous and classic songs. I’ve got a vested interest in the project from the get-go, as I’m good friends with one of the contributors. But even if you’ve never heard of any of these people, their first song will get you interested in the rest of the rest of their respective works.

It’s a truly stellar parody of Beatles classic “I Want To Hold Your Hand.” With genius lyrics, amazing vocals and vocal editing, beautiful instrumentation, this is simultaneously a very fresh and a very nostalgic piece. The mixdown is raw, bleeding, and perfectly oldschool. Rock isn’t my thing, but I Want to Hold Your Hoof has seized a position in my heart alongside my favorite songs of my favorite genres. What a song!

Four Strings – Head in the clouds (Thinkin about Soarin) (feat. Stormblaze) | Rock

Here’s a sweet shipping song, and chances are you will like it even if you’re not into shipping! Delivering an enjoyable instrumental of Rock greatness, Four Strings also plays as Braeburn in this track that definitely has a lot of story focus, while guest singer Stormblaze plays as Rainbow Dash! What ensues is a very cute love song about stealing Soarin’s heart, with a very well thought progression that lays out the story of the track in a beautiful and very “pony” way. Props to the artists for this cute fan work!

OBSCURA – Great and Powerful | Alternative Rock

A new deep pony song from Obscura, Great and Powerful this time pays tribute to Trixie and her amazing character depth as suggested by her exile at the end of Magic Duel and actually depicted in the show in No Second Prances as she was loosing her first true friend. Touching and thoughtful lyrics are brought to life by Obscura’s beautiful vocals, both soft and strong throughout the progression of the track, which doesn’t lack of an enjoyable Alt Rock instrumental to complete the lovely experience.

[P@D] Flittzy – You And I | Alternative Dance / Alternative Pop

Another great track from the newest and awesome P@D album: Guardians. Flittzy bring us a great tune reminding me of 90’s music acts such as Primal Scream. This tune, which talks about the relation between Twilight and Princess Luna, has everything for becoming the best song on this great album full of surprises! First the vocals are well performed, Flittzy does an awesome job singing and we already know that! Second is the writing capacity of Flittzy, those lyrics were really cool, awesome and with some really meaningful messages. Third is the mixing and instrumentation, the instrumental is very good and the mix between the guitars and the drum machine was pretty awesome, don’t forget the mix between the instrumental and the vocals that was pretty kickass also!

Don’t forget to buy or download the full Guardians to listen and admire other artists from this lovely fandom! I LOVE YOU ALL ’cause You and I take part in something greater!
