Fluttershy fans, this track is for you. This really captures why Fluttershy is such a beloved character of the show; I love Flutters too. The backstory of this track falls under the familiar headcanon of Twilight outliving her friends. Fluttershy has opened up her own vet clinic, found love, started a family with a stallion named Buddy, they had a foal named after the G1 pony Posey, which is fitting because she is essentially the G1 version of Fluttershy which Lauren Faust molded into the Flutters we love (the full story is in the video’s description). You will be fighting back tears as the melodies of this track tell the story of Fluttershy’s final day. The lyrics are sung by Helen as the singing voice of Posey as she fulfils Flutters’ final request. The elements used are a mix of Lo-fi beats, a pretty and soulful piano, and those harmonies… Oh my goodness, they’re gorgeous! And then the sad end with this moment of power and sadness with such a tear-jerking moment. Helen releases a high note accompanied by all the elements and this violin melody that signals Fluttershy passing away peacefully as her daughter sings to her. How can such a song be so chill and beautiful yet so sad and emotional but also be so good? Dandelion has made something very fitting of Fluttershy’s character. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

[VibePoniez] Bumpy Beats – Hypnosis | Chillstep
After listening to VibePoniez: Homework, this track can go under the radar with the rest of the names on this album, but I promise you that this track is a diamond in the rough, trust me. This track is put simply, how ponies, or us bronies, can be entranced with such emotional music; the title says it all. I hear future bass elements, but it is slowed down and so chill and relaxing, yet you still could just move to this song. The bass and sweet vocals and the lo-fi type elements mixed in is so fun, the composition is well done; so much vibe and body in this tune. Don’t sleep on this track. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Japkozjad – Stars | Chillstep
Another musician the needs some eyes on them. I got you covered Japkozjad!
How about a track about just enjoying a peaceful and chill moment of a quiet night under the stars, just entranced after a pretty hectic day of activities? You grab some cider and a blanket, maybe invite some friends and just enjoy a moment of peace with how the stars are. The melodies are so enchanting and full of wonder, and those elements are mixed so dang well. The soft keynotes, that rolling wubbing, the finger snaps, the flow of the bassline, those harmonics, all just righteous dude! If you need a track to just think about something deep, this is your track, my friends. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

Chasing Dawn – Of You | Pop
This is such a powerful display of the vocal talent of one Chasing Dawn. This Brit has a great voice and this track about how people can change is a wonderful display of vocally being able to invoke that emotion! The melodies are soft and dreamy, the lyrics are pretty emotional telling just sometimes people can change due to life or whatnot, and it can be taken as a simulation of life experiences, good or bad. You may love this person. They may be a trusted friend and things just happen beyond your control. It’s a pretty lovely and meaningful track and a real treat by Chasing Dawn. I can’t help but think about how much easier it is to find these feelings in the world of Equestria and how we can learn from that. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

[ASOS] Eniix – Power Ponies | Complextro
We’re keeping the amazing ASOS: Chocolate treats coming for ya. Business is about to pick up with this track at 28 on the album. some real super ponies vibes right here. The pace and beat could be used for Twilight and her friends or the Sunset Shimmer group in EQG. Either way, this has heavy action and a pulsing flow with a banging bassline for super powered ponies on patrol, taking care of the cities with crazy nut jobs trying to cause mayhem. The elements are a complex mix of elements that just let your imagination tell the story for you. Bad guys or ponies on the run, super villains making a mess of things. and our heroes are always on the move and on the case. This track is just a fun listen that will get your mood to swing in the right way. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
SlightlyAmiss – Visions | Metal
Metal and alicorns seem to go hand and hand when the narrative is them on the verge of being consumed by the darkness inside of them and all of the magic and power corrupting them into what is deep within them. In a very aggressive and almost mythical arrangement from my Horse Music Herald teammate, SlightlyAmiss. We get inside the heads of Celestia and Luna with this explosive song of pure metal goodness. Let’s take a moment to put aside what they like in the show and even the comics and focus on what Lauren Faust said about them. They’re superpowered ponies with god-like magic to boot; they know what their true powers are and the lyrics that are sang with such power and force, oh boy, those vocal leads into those angry vocals really give you the idea of why the sisters, even after their retirement that even in the most dire and emotional vulnerable moments, still have that feeling of giving into Nightmare Moon and Daybreaker. The lyrics speak of those dark yet fully powered sides of themselves yelling the messages into their minds to remind them that if they ever get the chance, they will take over and true alicorn power will come out. The powerful heavy metal elements of those guitars (that solo, holy Celestia!), the dark and grim melodies and those drums! This is how to tell a story of struggling with your dark side. Brony metal is the best metal. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Ponytronic – Realizations (Happiness) | Dubstep
The track gives me a really warm and fuzzy feeling ya know. Off Ponytronic’s forthcoming “Secrets Best Kept Alone; Forever Untold” album, I got to tell you all… I didn’t think the hard style of dubstep could ever sound this satisfying to the soul with this arrangement. The message is very deep and personal (read the story within the description); to put it short, this song is about finding what makes you grow and also finding a balance of your happiness and others. The dubstep bass and elements are used in such an inspiring way with the melody. He speaks of Fluttershy in how she has grown over 9 seasons. I think with how banging and hard this track sounds, it’s a great example of how this song’s vibe is. It’s a different vibe to your normal dubstep. Listen and see if you feel the same, but as always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Ocean Melody – Prelude to Shadows | Lyre Solo
Ocean Melody sure knows how to bring the feeling of a famous fanfiction within the community to life. The piece here is speaking of Lyra going through a point of severe anxiety. A gentle but concerning melody of Lyra trying to speak to others around with her with her music. Over the past year Ocean Melody has released music inspired by the fanfic “Background Pony”: a sad take on the life of Lyra Heartstrings. Taking the music Lyra composes in the story to real time, to make the story more immersive is admirable. Ocean Melody is good to listen for anyone that wants the emotion on a lighter fare. [PP] AnimatronicPony – Fluttershy’s Tea Party | Hardstyle
If music that screams grimdark is more your style, then come on in! AnimatronicPony gives shy and timid Fluttershy the possessed and psychopath flavor for track 17 of Pinkamena Party 8. Oh dear! You’ve walked right into a party where it sounds like Fluttershy wants a little bit more than just your company, and she invites you to come out to her shed. The deep and haunting bass, the unsettling hard synths and that pounding harmonic bassline all give this track the aggressive taste it has. Sure makes ya think about what you just walked into and how to GET OUT! The video that comes with this track makes that point pretty clear. Flutters is upping her game in trying to scare her friends. The bronies over at Pinkamena Party always aim to please and bring the heavy and hard to this music community. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
