Elias Frost – Stories Vol. II | Album | Orchestral

Here is the sequel to Elias Frost’s previous EP – Stories Volume I. The release consists of five orchestral songs, with the middle three being the focus of the album and a prologue and epilogue to introduce and conclude the extended play. While Volume I focused on Hearth’s Warming stories, the songs on Volume II all take place in different Equestrian universes including a Daring Do book, a Legends of Equestria Book, and the Diaries of Sunset Shimmer.

“Daring Do and the Temple of Hope” is an epic soundtrack inspired by the Indiana Jones pony herself. The song has an suspense-adventurous feel to it and includes some worldly influence – almost like an Egyptian Mission Impossible track.

“Song of the Sea” has its own sailing adventure score where the danger is further emphasized by great use of choir vocal chants.

“Music in Our Hearts” has a mellow, emotional start before erupting into an epic rock track and teetering between dark rock and symphonic triumph.

Each song has it’s moments of adventurous highs and hero-defining lows which serve to tell great stories through music alone, without a need for words. There is a great arc to the structure of the EP, a strength Frost plays to very well. Make sure to check out Stories Vol. II available now!

Vylet Pony – Our Light & After (feat. Pepper Mei) | Future Bass

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 9 April 2018.

Vylet’s recent album release has been full of some great chill tracks, but this title track is a bit more upbeat. It makes awesome use of Pepper Mei’s vocals that suit the vibe of the track perfectly, with some super clever sound design and composition throughout a groovy drop.

Osoch – Pleasant Chill | New Age / Chill Out

Even when he’s working on something completely different from his usual metal styles, everything Osoch touches is gold! Pleasant Chill is everything the title claims and more. The song begins with a captivating intro and great bass line with mood setting pianos.
Then the strings come in breathing life into this track as it becomes an adventure and a superior meditation experience at the same time. I could say so many amazing things about this track – but you deserve to experience it yourself!

TCB – Trust Your Heart (feat. Acarcion) | House / Future Bass

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 9 April 2018.

TCB’s vocal chops grace us once again with some awesome chopping of Twilight’s voice. The first half of this track is pretty chilled out making use of vocal chops and soft chords, before we get some nice rap vocals from rapper Acarcion. The track then shifts into high gear with some awesome future bass chords.

Royalpony- Great and Powerful | Hardstyle

We are very lucky to have a healthy amount of excellent hardstyle in this fandom and one very big source of that music is Royalpony! In this Trixie-inspired track, Royal uses lively synth riffs in the melody as well as more melodic piano parts to change it up half-way through. The hardstyle beat is top-notch as always with some great builds making for a fantastic song!

MC-Arch – The Bridge. (Its Ok.) | Hip-Hop

MC-Arch has always been very open about his emotions through his music and this track is no different. In The Bridge, he raps about how it is ok not to be ok and uses a new trap beat to get his point across. The song includes some awesome Fluttershy vocal chops as an accompaniment to Arch’s vocals which makes for an incredible counterpoint to the verses. The title is chosen amazingly too, as we are reminded of the importance not tp burning bridges, but gather up the strength and cross them instead.

Shal Music/FX – Open Up Your Eyes (covering Daniel Ingram) | Metal

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 6 April 2018.

Shal has impressed me a lot lately whenever he’s released anything, so it’s cool to see something in a different direction from them! Usually focusing on electronic stuff, this orchestral-tinted metal cover of Open Up Your Eyes makes great use of his vocals, as well as some solid guitar throughout.

Quadrivia – Filly Seekers EP | Electronic

Horses are sexy, you should f-

Quadrivia’s back with a little EP based largely around her fascination with…well I’m sure you can figure it out for yourself. The name comes from her latest P@D contribution, Filly Seekers, the first track on the EP and a sequel to a previous P@D song of the same signature complextro sound. It also features NSFW (Not Safe For Woona) II, a more progressive / electro house type song, and her remix of Filly Seekers made in collaboration with Arturo Host and MEQA.

The entire EP is available to dowload from the Duktig Records Bandcamp for free.

One Track Mind – End of the Show (Variations on Brilliant Venture’s Welcome to the Show) | Witch House

An ethereal and surrealistic soundscape that will take you to places. A philosophic variation of a remix of Welcome to the Show done by Brilliant Venture featuring vocal work from Wubcake. One Track Mind has been producing some really splendid and experimental works on the electronic music world. This variation proves that, shows how prolific an artist can be with their creative process. And the result is a 6 minute journey into a dark forest where cruel fantasies are created, a haunting, beautiful and yet mechanical experience. Keep up with this amazing tracks! They aren’t One, because they expand our Mind. Amazing Track!
