Koa – Supercut (You Don’t Know What I Did Last Night) | Pop

Well, Koa never fails to please but her album “In Your Eyes” definitely knocks it out of the park! And today I’ll tell you just a little bit about Supercut, but let’s start from the top: The song kicks straight off with Koa’s amazing vocals before the upbeat instrumental kicks in, mainly featuring a hypnotizing beat and a catching acoustic guitar that’ll get stuck in your head! Both vocals and instrumental get their own times to shine and overall this song makes you wish it was a lot longer! The lyrics creatively cover the kind of people who spend their time spreading lies and half truths for their entertainment, and indeed sometimes people only see a supercut of who we really are.

Pipetka – Despair | Hybrid Orchestral

Content warning: mentions of death, pleading, crying.

Suffice to say, this song is a roller coaster of emotions. It starts out straight off the bat with terrifying vocals and pleading for life, supported by nothing more then low synths, before guitars set in to properly start the track. Everything takes a while to build, supported by another small vocal part, as the piece crescendos to a powerful drum solo. Towards the second half the song becomes more hopeful, with high strings and triumphant horns, making for a strange but quite interesting shift in mood before the song comes to an end on a piano solo supported only partially by other instruments.

Everfree Park Rangers – Woodland Guide | Compilation Album

The historic fandom compilation album Balloon Party made its big return in July with many active musicians contributing. Balloon Party has always thrived around theming their albums, and so each of the 20 accepted tracks relates in some way to the idea of Fluttershy leading an expedition into the Everfree Forest as the group’s Woodland Guide.

The variety of music featured on the compilation is astounding – covering electronic and acoustic, vocal, vocal chops, and instrumental, as well as many, many different genres. With so many different contributing artists, there are a lot of creative takes on what kind of music and stories can be present through the theme. “Woodland Guide” is totally free for download, and it is a fantastic snapshot of what many fandom musicians sound like this summer!

Forest Rain – Great to be Different (feat. Decibelle) [10th Anniversary] | Soft Rock/Ballad

A lot changes over ten years time. People grow and change, cartoons come and go, schools get built and new rulers are brought to power, but the beauty and impact of one of the cornerstones to the early fandom music scene never wanes. Forest Rain celebrates the 10 year anniversary of the release of her love letter to Derpy with this updated masterpiece which enlists the help of over 10 fandom musicians, including the voice of Derpy from the original track, Decibelle. So much time has passed, yet the impact and beauty of a single moment is just as beautiful and mesmerizing today as it was in 2012.

Wandering Artist – At the end of the day | Album | Orchestral / Soundtrack

Wandering Artist is back once again with another incredible collection of environments and medleys, seven in fact as part of their new album “At the end of the day”.

Originally developed as a radio drama soundtrack involving Sunny, inspired by long commutes to work as of late and how well radio shows can keep you company during those lonely drives, but “at the end of the day”, decided to just release it as music, allowing us to think of our own stories and contemplate on what Sunny did during her day while she finally gets a moment of respite!

Khaliber – Drift Away (feat. ProtoShadez) | Future Bass

Khaliber shootin’ out dem calibers once again and they are BANGERS! Happily accompanied by vocal acrobat ProtoShadez this time, a lovely harmonic future bass tune has come out of it! It feels like the track really pulls you in and blasts you out. You can literally feel yourself going through WAVES. To say this track is an experience would be an understatement. This track feels like going along with the waves and experiencing every last motion of the wild ride provided. Amazing techno features in fast paced action, soothed by harmonic and soothing vocals. Both the calm and wild meet in balance here, and it feels wonderful! Make sure to drift away to their channels as well, and check them out! Well done you both, well done.

4everfreebrony – Breathless (feat. FrizyBeat) [covering Ruiness] | Soft Rock

Time for a bit of a throwback for this one! As part of 4EFB’s newest collection of brony cover songs (also just released!), he and Fritzy decided to create their own version of Breathless by Ruiness. The original is a bit of a cult classic – Ruiness are (justifiably) revered in certain brony music circles – so hopefully these two can help shine some light on their work. This rendition sees a nice blend of electronica, acoustic elements and electric guitar work, and 4EFB and Fritzy’s soft, soothing vocals suit it perfectly.
