GhostXb – Take Me Away | Ambient / Orchestral

Get ready to travel into another world completely with this 32 minute track! GhostXb experiments with new techniques to create a truly moving piece, using unpredictable instrumentation and subtle dissonance to maintain a well-controlled chaotic, yet calming feel. The uplifting, peaceful ending is a perfectly satisfying finish to the largely ambient track. Brilliant and atmospheric, “Take Me Away” is perfect to put on in the background and lose yourself into.

Modern Bard – Life In Clouds | Ambient / Chillout

A new treat from Modern Bard, this much Ambient-like piece does a great job at reflecting the peacefulness of living in the clouds, as well as the mysterious, ethereal vibe that there is to it and the conquest of the skies and new horizons. A much delightful piece!

[ASOS] Zero Chaotic – Despair (feat. Butterflight & Project Mo)))rd) | Ambient

Zero Chaotic, Butterflight and Project Mo)))rd have the open slot on the new A State of Sugar, and their track starts it off amazingly by beginning with a lovely atmosphere provided by some really nice pads. The solo strings help build this wonderful emotional section and the subtle drums wrap it all together wonderfully. I really like the rain sounds present throughout as it helps maintain the feelings through the song.

Candy is available to download from A State of Sugar’s bandcamp page, completely for free (but you can donate if you’re feeling generous).

Seventh Element – The Equestrian Wasteland – Part 1: Hope And Despair | Album | Post-Rock

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 22 November 2017.

Seventh Element makes some cool tunes, but where he really excels is in the creation of concept albums such as this. With a combination of spooky ambient soundscapes and driving indie rock beats, this album definitely helps to visualise the desolate landscapes of Fallout Equestria. Check it out below for half an hour of hope and despair!

Nicolas Dominique – Raise The Sun (2017) | Ambient

Revamped songs are always cool to hear – sometimes you get to see how much a musician has improved over the years, and sometimes you just get a completely new experience of a song! In this case it’s the latter, with Nicolas turning this song from trance to a much more downtempo ambient piece.

BlueBrony – Loveseed | Ambient

As ever, BlueBrony continues to experiment with different styles and ideas. Here he’s taken inspiration from Perfect Pear to produce this gorgeous, soft and subtle ambient track. Gentle piano notes punctuate an atmosphere heavy with deep pad sounds, and it ends up producing quite an emotional feeling to the whole piece.

Daniel Ingram – I’ve Got to Find a Way (Seventh Element Remix) | Dark Ambient

Seventh Element has put together a very eerie, sinister remix of Twilight’s tragic song “I’ve Got to Find a Way”. Minimalist, gritty, and perfectly ambient, it’s a truly unique take on the song. I absolutely love the sound design here, it’s so, so good. The vocal work is superb too. Another masterpiece from Seventh Element!
