Nyancat380 knows their stuff when it comes to atmosphere. We’ve got ourselves a unique blend of genres with this track, which is also track 12 and the last on their newly released album Fokin’ Days. It starts out with a creepy sounding music box intro before quickly transitioning into a heavy rock instrumental reminiscent of System of a Down, which is then followed by a quick trap breakdown and then the dubstep. A unique combination, that’s for sure, but it all comes together well in this brilliant deathstep number.

[ASOS] Zizkil – Dead Nostalgia | Complextro
Is there anything Zizkil’s not good at? Track 12 on ASOS: Waffle, this is one of two tracks by them (the other being their collaboration VIP with Cynifree). It showcases Zizkil’s signature electronic style super well, with funky basslines, heavy, dynamic and bouncy synths, along with unique percussion sounds. Short but sweet, it’s definitely a good fit in the ASOS catalog!
[ASOS] Skelter – Get Up | Hybrid Trap
Another track from ASoS: Waffle, and it’s Skelter with track 6, Get Up! A fitting name; his usual style of trap mixed with dubstep synths shines through with pumping drums and elements of orchestra. With a powerful melody and overwhelming bass, this is a fun number that’ll be sure to get you on your feet. Another good addition to the club playlist!
TCB – The Empress of Friendship (EFNW19 Edit) | Metalstep
Friendship is power, and so is this song! TCB returns with another edit of the original song from the 2018 PVCF Convention Album, this time reserved for this year’s Everfree Northwest. While the song hasn’t changed much from its original form, it’s been given a new coat of paint with an updated intro with a new menacing lead guitar track while still keeping the familiar Cozy Glow voice samples. Give it a spin!
[NSN] Hoofy – Nightmare Fuel | Riddim
Serving as the 3rd track on the Never Say Neigh compilation album, this compound of Trap and Riddim precipitates a headbang session. It incorporates a trap-influenced introduction complete with unsparingly rhythmic hi-hats until a breakdown of vigorous drums and rolling basses. Stick around for the two surges of rhythm that Hoofy bestows upon us, and while you’re at it, check out the rest of the brilliant NSN album, too!
[ASOS] GrazySmash & Tw3Lv3 – Dungeon | Psytrance / Dubstep
My first taste of what ASOS brings to the table is this collab by GrazySmash & Tw3Lv3! And Oh my, It’s themed after Daring Do. Trust me when I say it’s a banger that fits great. Picture Daring Do walking into the location of her next treasure. Sizing up her task. The opening melody builds up energy as she gets a feel for the place, Then BOOM! This song kicks in like a rapid-fire machine gun!. She shoots off into searching for her goal, dodging and weaving through all of the dangers within. The way the beats go all over the place. It gives you an idea of what she is in for. It lets you imagine her traversing through these perils with style. The use of exotic sounds is a nice touch as well. The mixing is just plain sick and adventurous. Someone honesty should do an SFM animation to this track of Daring Do making it look easy to this exciting track. So much fun! As always. This Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
[NSN] AJ Young – Old School | Riddim / Dubstep
Reminisce on old memories enough recently? If you said no, perfect! Have I got the ditty for you! Fresh off the new Never Say Neigh compilation album, AJ Young introduces a song including the quintessential sampling of old fandom standards topped with modern dubstep trends. If you said yes, not to worry because nostalgia will always purge your veins, no matter the walk of life you are in. So there’s no reason not to yield to the turbulent hard-hitter that is AJ Young’s Old School!
Never Say Neigh – Black Stable: Vol. 2 | Compilation Album | Dubstep / Riddim
The ultra-talented Never Say Neigh crew is back with another, albeit more compact than the last, face-melting compilation album! The shorter length makes it easy to digest in one go and each track has something standout about it. AJ Young’s Old School has a killer drop mixed in with some recognizable OG brony media samples, SKUNKED’s Wrath has some fantastic strings and sound design throughout, Suskii’s F*** You Up has an extremely unique groove in its last drop, and much, much more. This is definitely one of the premiere pony releases this year!
[ASOS] GrazySmash & ponycutz – You Rock | Complextro
You Rock is another example of the talent this fandom has, bringing heavy and powerful sound design with amazing rhythm and creativity. A part of the newly released ASoS album, Waffle, it expands the variety of music in it and confirms even more that the album is definitely worth the listen. A slow start with very a serious and cyber punk style shows this song doesn’t mess around. Going into the drop it ups the tention, which transitions to a pure enjoyment and headshaking that wasn’t heard in a while. And in the Waffle style, it makes a transition to a completely different genre, and you guessed it, it’s psytrance. Energetic, and strong bass is present that again, switches back to the first drop. The song is one of the prime examples that shows the quality of both producers and the quality of the album. That’s GrazySmash and Ponycutz.
Daniel Ingram – A Better Way to be Bad (Tw3Lv3 Remix) | Dubstep / Riddim
This remix of “A Better Way to be Bad” perfectly mixed original lyrics with high-energy dubstep music to give a fresh take on the season 9 song. The gradual build-up followed by the fantastic bass drop combines for an epic track. Without a doubt a very good and memorable remix!
