SCRATON – Veni Vidi Vici (Magic) | Future Bass

And so, we’ve come to the 6th and final piece of SCRATON’s mane 6-themed tracks. For those keeping watch, the last one we’ve been expecting is the element of magic, and it’s finally here. Veni Vidi Vici is a lovely future bass track with a smooth set of vocals and infectious trap elements. When the drop hits, we’re privy to a wonderful melody primarily driven by vocal chops and synths that you’ll never get enough of. The description notes that no king or queen rules forever, but their legacy will never die, which is a fitting analogy for MLP’s 4th generation as well as this series of songs. Such a beautiful way to send off this series of tracks!

Below is an additional review from guest writer DrakeEmberHeart.

Drake’s writeup:
SCRATON has saved Twilight for last. For the final track of his Mane 6 series, we get a track that feels and sound like what BOOKHORSE has been through. It’s some epic future bass that gets you picture the evolution of her character. The lyrics. The vocal chops, the spell binding meleody of her journey. When I hear this I picture her walking past moment of her greatness done in the show. From a student unicorn to big alicorn BOOKHORSE! This song is a celebration of princess Twilight Sparkle. As always this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself

Paloris – Hope (Ice Angel Remix) | Drumstep / Future Bass

This track really does live up to its name, with its non-stop vibe of hope as well as a  general uplifting feeling. It uses some epic electronic music (with the usual bass drops), drums, with a little bit of piano used throughout the track, to make a distinct, wonderful sound.

[ASOS] Suskii and Rokii – SMART PONY UNIT SO. CONN-D33Z | Complextro

Harmony by definition: A consistent, or pleasing arrangement of parts; congruity

That would best sum up the opening track of ASOS: Brownie. Suskii and Rokii have baked up something really pleasing here in their collab. A tag team of sorts, is how this complextro of a track has been presented. The song opens up to wonder and mystery then Suskii comes in first with this harsh, robotic dubstep style beat that gives off this notion of a robotic pony trying to move and groove, very hardcore in nature. The song goes into this amazing and chilling drop that builds and builds up to the tag in of Rokii’s part. Who comes in with his signature epic future bass style. As if the robot pony has found paradise. The melody is frankly one of biggest reasons why I love Rokii’s style and sound so much. Him and Suskii work VERY well together to make great harmony of this track. One of many good ones on ASOS brownie. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

SCRATON – Gemshard (Generosity) | Future Bass

NOTE: This post was written by both Blackened and Drake.

I got to hand it to SCRATON for his 5th track of mane six tributes. I don’t think a song has captured Rarity’s personality as well as this one has before! Right off the bat, this song hits you with a generous dose of classy style, starting off with a brief samba-inspired section before jumping into SCRATON’s usual electronic flair. Like the element of generosity herself, this song gives off an aura of beautiful showmanship and funk which honestly fits her character super well. The beat switches it up to where you can picture Rarity having a wonderfully good time dancing it up with fabulous style, but then we’re thrust into another change; an absolutely gorgeous drop with vocal samples that feel like they were meant for Rarity. Overall, this song does well to capture Rarity’s personality, even without words. Time for a party at the Carousel Boutique!

SCRATON – Powerhorse (Honesty) | Future Bass

NOTE: This was written by DrakeEmberHeart in conjunction with Blackened.

SCRATON is back again with the 4th track of this series of tunes themed to the the mane 6! Welcome to Honesty. Centred around Applejack, Powerhorse is fitting name for this track, seeing as she’s Equestria’s strongest earth pony. This song does something different with her character. The melody and beats seem to celebrate Applejack’s spirit, utilising an upbeat melody that is fitting of AJ’s strength and hard work. But there is something else. The soft female vocals which are a common theme in these tracks almost seem like Rarity sang them, particularly when “oh darling, please don’t go” pops up in the middle; reminding Applejack to not work so hard, to relax and come with her. The production is fantastic on how good and powerful this song’s honesty is.

The Empty Tomb – Canterlot Funk | Future Funk

Need some fandom-based future funk in your life? That’s exactly what Canterlot Funk’s here for. Based around a sample of And The Beat Goes On by The Whispers, the song depicts a futuristic Canterlot, where Rarity plans to set up a boutique somewhere in the bustling city. This track does a great job at taking an old sample and playing around with it to make it sound like it came from the future!

FilledSilhoutte – Allure | Future Funk / French House

Allure is a single from FilledSilhoutte’s upcoming EP DAZZLED ’92, coming out on February 21st. Alluring, dazzling, charming are quite fitting to describe the trio of sirens that inspired this track, which in turn inherits these qualities. Moreover, we could add funky and groovy, for this track is at the intersection of future funk and French house and uses a handful of disco samples. The melody is catchy and the bass is fantastic and often takes the spotlight in a fashion similar to that of the Dazzlings themselves.

Flutter Rex – Pink Lick (Checkerëd Remix) | FuturePsy

It seems Checkerëd has a knack for remixing some really old but gold MLP fan tunes! Pink Lick is one of them, and their remix of the Flutter Rex original really changes things up! Checkerëd’s version has a faster pace and lots of trippy synthlines, including a unique trap beat as a soft supplement between the heavier bits. Prepare for the bass!

Canvas – Grow | Future Bass

Canvas returns with his first track of the year, as well as this decade’s first release on Basshoof Records. Grow is a unique and melancholy piece that combines softer and heavier elements. Juxtaposed between the catchy drums and future bass synths are soft ambient noises such as a piano, bells, sampled vocal chops and even the sound of birds chirping. Hybrid songs such as this make for great opportunities to incur such feelings.

StrachAttack – Attack It VIP | Future House

The 2013 reworks just keep coming through, don’t they? Attack It VIP is a new version of StratchAttack’s track of the same name from 2013, rebuilt from the ground up. The production is a massive leap upwards from the original and sounds absolutely delightful to listen to. The synths are perfect for the style of music and fit with the new addition of vocal chops in the melody. It’s amazing how far he’s come!
