One of the deeper fan songs out there, this amazing tribute from brambleshadow4 in collab with Kyra is depicting the struggle of an immortal alicorn, and also reflecting personal feelings about the end of FiM at the same time. Heartfelt in several ways, this gorgeous song is fusing brambleshadow4’s skill at emotional Orchestral and Kyra’s beautiful vocals, for a result that is nothing short of incredible!
Orchestral
Night Blaze – Discordia Equis | Orchestral
Night Blaze’s latest fan song and concept-powered piece is about Equestria’s past again, and many tragedies that happened but that weren’t focused on in the show, as you can read from the description! You can appreciate the musician’s gorgeous and delicate musical tribute to Equestrian lore, with this emotional and gripping composition made with love and passion!
Tw3Lv3 – One Small Thing | Album | Multi-Genre
When this song hit the fandom back in late 2020, nobody had any idea just how dire we needed this. Yes, you have your fandom anthems about how great and fun the fandom is. But this track that Tw3Lv3, Drummershy, Koa, and MC-Arch did. It spoke a message we needed to hear. The “friendship” part of all of this. The core of it for being a true brony. With how bad 2020 was. [ASOS] SlightlyAmiss & Sakairi – Days Infernal (feat. Acouste Wholenote) | Symphonic Metal
My friends, I’ve been looking forward to coving this track even since Sakairi and Amiss gave me a preview of it why working on it for ASOS: Biscuit months before the release. It is one of the most explosive, and better yet, one of the MUST listens on the album.
The track centers around Daybreaker. Celestia slowly being driven insane, inching closer to Daybreaker, calling out to her to be unleashed by the lyrics. Starlight Glimmer’s dream in “a royal problem.” only planted the seeds into Celestia’s mind. Until the day comes when she snaps, letting Daybreaker take hold of her, The lyrics tell the story of Celestia wanting to feel more than she is and not feel weak anymore; her words ring out as she targets her sister luna and her past, then turns to twilight with rage. She tells them both that Celestia’s limits will no longer bind her. The song gets intense with the minds of Daybreaker and Celestia clashing for control before Daybreaker sends Equestria into an age of hellfire and death, with Princess Luna and Twilight being her first victims.
You have to listen for yourself, but the song is only as good as say it is if not for the talent behind it. SlightlyAmiss on this album alone has stepped up his game to a whole new level. The entire package of how hardcore the metal is in this track fits the inner spirit of the story. The guitars and drums channel the brutal power of Daybreaker with the tempo on an overdrive. There are very harmonious Orchestra elements composed by Amiss, which I didn’t know he had in him! The lyrics so well fit this story. You can step right into Celestia’s head and understand and get into this song. Well-written lyrics bring life to songs such as these, But the vocals bring that story to life. I got to tell you that if you don’t know who Sakairi is? You know now. Her singing gives the emotional energy and fire of Daybreaker telling her story. You feel the anger, rage, and lust for power through the powerful harmonies of Sakairi’s impressive singing voice. Oh and just make that sweeter? Amiss lends his rage scream vocals to harmonize with her vocals so you know Daybreakers firey rage behind Sakairi’s vocals
Didn’t I mention that she made it onto her first significant compilation album on her first try! He can feel Celestia trying to fight back and take control back and Daybreaker laughing at her just by the passion and tone of Sakairi’s voice. She has put this fandom on notice by her break-out performance, and to sweeten this more, Amiss and his pal Acouste Wholenote throw in some epic, and emotional guitar solo’s to amp the drama of this fantastic track! This track is what Symphonic Metal sounds like when done right! This track alone is worth supporting the album. Ya’ll need to keep your eyes on this group, I can promise you. It’s only the start! As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself, but enjoy one of the best Daybreaker songs ever made in my book.
Koron Korak – Follow the Little Light (Album Version) | Orchestral
And so, we’ve come to the ninth and final tribute song in memory of Koron Korak’s brother, Cerebre Arkor. Follow the Little Light continues the emotional orchestral sound seen in the last few tracks of the recently released tribute album by the former. The combination of bells, pianos and violin strings really captures that feeling of longing for something or someone, a feeling that’s close to my heart. Much like the show, this ninth song in the series fits alongside the show’s ninth and also final season in its sense of closure. RIP Cerebre Arkor. No matter where you may be, you are loved.
[ASOS] Skyshard – One Last Stand | Orchestral
Let me be the guy to open our coverage on an album that is totally taking bronies’ breath away with ASOS: Biscuit! There is such an impressive display of talent in the 8th album of the organization’s history! What highlights this album is a fresh talent. One such brony musician is Skyshard, who has made such a hot push for themselves for three consecutive compilation albums (VibePoniez: Overcast, Equinity 04: Immersion, and now A State of Sugar: Biscuit). It was an astonishing feat for someone who just came into the music scene not too long ago, plus all on their first try!
If you listen to this track, you will understand why and it will take your breath away! The composition done by Skyshard, you’re swept to the moment to where it becomes do or die. At track 54, Sky told me that this track is about their OC at their breaking point and on the verge of unleashing pure hell on a villain or rival. The melody puts you in the hooves of their OC or, let’s say, Twilight or Cadence in a very decisive moment of an extensive choice. Words can not fix the problem; as this score shapes the mood, you can picture a big fight going down. In terms of Sky’s OC or any of alicorn princesses, it’s unleashing your true power when others or your kingdom needs you the most. The drama of this moment fits the elements used in this score, and you get into it and picture this scene in your head. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Songbird Choir – Appleoosa Rag – Piano Solo
Ahhh, more season one-inspired music! It really takes you back to the days of just how charming FiM really was becoming! This delightful piano solo takes you back to the episode “Over A Barrel.” Songbird Choir grabs you in the flavor of classic old west charm as you could very well hear this coming from the salt saloon as you take your tour of APPLEOOOOOSA! Please support and check out Songbird Choir’s other charming works. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Koron Korak – Octavia Dead and Unforgiven (Covering AaRD) | Orchestral
(Listen to the original Here!)
The power you find even in the darkness. Why, the emotion behind this track is very personal to Koron Korak. (In all seriousness, give the guy some love and encouragement or a hug!) This cover of AaRD’s score is just breathtakingly pretty. The melodies are very lush and plentiful. Taking the original and beefing it up with his skill with the Violin and Cello. They are some major Russian/German influences within this cover that gives the track a rich favor and pulls you into the emotion; as Dionte George told me, “It kinda also sounds like opera seria (serious opera) in a way. Please support Koron, my friends, and send him some kind words of support. As always, this qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

Elias Frost – Equallektiv | Hybrid Orchestral
I’ve always found Starlight to be one of the most interesting characters in the latter half of the show. This track, I think, reflects that interesting character of hers really well. Much like Starlight’s character arc, this song has (for lack of a better term) phases. At the start of the track, the listener is greeted with a dark opening. The music starts out quiet, and as the first half of the track progresses, the music picks up in speed and volume. After this dark tone-setter, the track shifts into its next phase: with a quick vocal segment reciting Starlight’s cutie mark propaganda, the track takes on a quicker, orchestral sound. Complete with guitar, and more glim vocal segments, you’ve got yourself a great piece of music!
