Silver Note – Stars | Orchestral Pop Rock

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 15 February 2017.

Silver Note is one of my favourite vocalists in the fandom, and the fact that he always manages to supplement his terrific clean vocals with compelling instrumentals is a definite bonus. Here the instrumental steadily swells to a crescendo with multiple different orchestral and acoustic elements complementing some beautiful lyricism about one of the classic ships of the fandom, TaviScratch. A thoroughly professional sounding piece, make sure to check it out!

Night Blaze & KennyDash – Dreams Keeper | Soundtrack

Here we’ve got an amazing piece from Night Blaze and KennyDash that just feels like the perfect comfy BGM to have playing in the background of such a tender scene depicted by the cover art. The musicians do an awesome job at keeping a great progression and coming up with very OST-like melodies, even delivering an emotional guitar part further on. A real bliss!

A Symphony Of Two – Nature’s Wonders | Orchestral

Those who know me know that I’m a huge lover of Nature, and music, and OST, so tracks like these are just my weakness. It starts in a musical “sunny forest” theme of incredible beauty that is just so soothing, just like ambling inside a forest would. It uses winds and mandolin that are perfect for the job, and it is also subtly reminiscing of works from composers such as Motoi Sakuraba, like the fittingly-named Relaxing Place. The track then progresses into a deeper, darker part with strings, reflecting adventuring further down the tree-shadowed paths in the forest. The calm winds melodies certainly convey very well that sense of wonder and feeling at peace with the world around you, while the strings are keeping that adventurous, exploration spirit up. The next part is giving a very regal and gorgeous mood, fitting for a forest’s untold beauty and the due respect we are bound to give it. The piece ends in a finale softly completing the musical experience of the blissful “walk”. The whole track is paying much tribute to Nature in a delightful musical way, and I can’t thank the musicians enough for their awesome work creating such amazing music that hits me spot on. Don’t forget to show your support to A Symphony Of Two if you enjoy their works too!

GhostXb – Big Sister Lullaby (feat. Angel Love) | Orchestral

Some songs just seem to magically trigger otherworldly emotions out of you, and this is one of those that just does for me. It’s something you can’t really explain, but it is definitely a token of our potential to feel the full power of music, which is so powerful that it may actually be considered “magic”. Definitely a very potent one among those “wizards”, GhostXb wrote a lullaby chanted among those sisterly relationships from the show that we love, and it is starring Angel Love‘s oustanding vocals, that are just as literally divine as the instrumental backing them up. Truly, words have never been so powerless to describe the incredible experience that this track can provide, and I know I just wouldn’t be able to do it justice. It’s just something else. I’ll just say that the moment at 1:21 is the most powerful one for me and that it makes me feel things that are out of this world. Thank you, GhostXb and Angel Love, for these emotions and for the stunning work that you did!!

[P@D] Elias Frost & Jyc Row – Windigos | Orchestral Metal

One of my personal top favorites from Amity, Windigos is a stunning blend of Metal and Orchestral, and incidentally or not, it is by masters of the genres Elias Frost and Jyc Row respectively. For this one, Elias composed an almighty instrumental using many instruments like the mandolin, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and even flute, going all-out and delivering many emotional wonders over an incredible progression. The flute is especially one of my weaknesses here, and it really does amazing things throughout the soft yet powerful instrumental. Another of the elements I love the most about this masterpiece has got to be the vocals. Jyc Row‘s outstanding Metal vocals are proving once again to be insanely epic, and fill the song with a power full of the spirit of rock music and charisma. The backing vocals from Elias are also adding so much emotion to the song. In the last vocal part of the track in particular, the extended backing vocals blending with Jyc’s lead vocals in perfect unisson, has got to be the most emotional and intense part of the song for me, providing vocal melodic bliss and extra Folk vibes, for a masterful finale of divine power. I’m getting teary-eyed again while writing this, you guys are awesome, keep it up, I love you :’)
