Everyone knows PegasYs is such a good producer and vocalist. So how about a taste of some vocals that have just a tad of reggae vibe to them? It’s a style that is well-suited to the lyrics. PegasYs shows off his vocal range with this one, and the lovely Koa then comes in with her own sweet vocals to add some love to this “ship” of Twilight and Sunburst. As track 8 onP@D: Ignite, the song features a wonderland-style pop melody that is so catchy, and the vocals lend a worldly feel to the musical Moombah style (as it’s stated). You can relax in wonder with this one! As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

Cadet & JoinedTheHerd – A Heartfelt Melody | Pop
A heart-warming collab for sure, this union of Cadet‘s vocal talents and JoinedTheHerd‘s instrumental skill is all about the tender love shared between Buttercup aka Pear Butter and Bright Mac. There’s even an acoustic guitar calling back to You’re In My Head Like a Catchy Song, and this is definitely a success!
MelodyBrony – Autumn (Covering JackleApp) | Rock
A nostalgic trip to the past and to timeless brony feelings, MelodyBrony’s awesome cover of the classic Autumn features such cute and Derpy-like vocals that will make you melt along the picture in the video! We’ll never stop expressing our love for Derpy, and I’m so happy that such songs/covers keep getting made to this day!
Ampderg – Memory (feat. Vylet Pony) | Alternate Electronic / Indie Pop
Part of the upcoming Icicle concept album, Memory is blasting the talents of Ampderg and Vylet Pony full force, with both an instrumental and vocals of pure beauty! Blowing you away at every corner, the rich and thoughtful track tells a tale of a Crystal Princess of ancient times, and it’s definitely and intriguing and cool concept!
Midnight Frenzy – Spiral Harmonies ft. Emily Koch | Showtunes
For those of you that remember the great DuoCartoonist musical collaborations, a big part of those songs came from Spiral Harmonies (for those of you that don’t remember those videos – look them up right away!). After some re-orchestration, they have re-released the remastered version of Midnight Frenzy, a lively and very playful track based around Luna as a child, getting into trouble and having fun through the night. The orchestration is incredible with all the instruments building upon each other while Emily Koch’s voice shines as the incredibly lovable Luna character.
[P@D] Forest Rain – The Spark Overture | Pop Ballad
This song made me tear up at the release party, and every time, I still get close to tears; Forest Rain has once again perfectly captured the love I think we all share of the magical land of Equestria. With the masterful use of motifs sprinkled throughout the song, and other technical tidbits such as incredibly emotional dynamics, she draws out a level of emotion in me that I haven’t felt in quite some time, and it’s wonderfully refreshing. I also can’t get over the absolute beauty that is her voice, covering such a wide range of expression. A masterpiece of a track, indeed.
The track is available as part of P@D Ignite.
[The Rest of Our Lives] Replacer – season infinity | Indie Pop
The series finale feels continue with a melancholy-themed track from the new collaborative album, “The Rest of Our Lives”. Replacer has put on an interesting and unique performance to try to express some of the fandom’s struggles of the “Friendship is Magic” book being closed. The lyrics and vocals are eerie, and they reflect the struggles of many bronies after watching the finale (with the use of a vocoder) to give the message of bronies feeling lost with no more gen 4. The calm piano is so effective and gorgeous in telling this story. You really need to hear this for yourself. It may not be for everyone. Regardless, its message is powerful. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Cantersoft – Pony Pony Pony Pony | Electro Pop
pony pony pony pony pony pony pony pony pony pony pony pony pony pony pony pony
Not much else really needs to be said, but this is a nice fun and short song about… Pony. A catchy beat and melody followed by, you guessed it, many different iterations of the word “pony” (how many times do I have to say pony in this writeup whew) What can I say except ponies?
[The Rest of Our Lives] Le Soldat Pony – Reunion [Artemis Epilogue] :: Coming Out | Progressive Pop
The 12th track on The Rest of Our Lives is Reunion, the first brand new track from Le Soldat Pony in 5 years. Reunion is a unique piece and also stands as the album’s longest track, clocking in at 12 minutes long. It opens up with a minute long intro with glitchy beepy synths before adding a reverberant beat with 80s-inspired synth lines. Soldat’s voice is ethereal and haunting yet perfectly fitting for this kind of music. Halfway in, the song completely changes course, leaving us with some faint ambient background noise before a raw recording of an acoustic guitar fades in. This, combined with him singing sounds truly beautiful and haunting. As much as I’d love to see him return fully, it’s unlikely that he ever will, so let us cherish this moment while we still have it. Either way, it’s definitely a big highlight from the album!
RedSpark – Sisters’ Epiphany | Orchestral / Indie Pop
Not just crafting an emotional Orchestral composition reminiscent of Lullaby For A Princess, RedSpark also contributed with his own vocals to the song and it adds a lot! Enacting the heavy dialogue between the two sisters during that fateful moment in time, the piece makes for an amazing and heartfelt tribute, and RedSpark definitely did wonderful!
