Strigidae – Time To Be Awesome (covering Daniel Ingram) | Pop

Strigi’s voice has always stood out – he’s a pretty unique vocalist and it’s always nice to hear his songs, whether original pieces or covers of show songs like this one. He’s definitely improved his singing too, he’s really able to project properly in many parts of this song.

I really should see that movie at some point too…

Luck Rock – You Are a Princess | Alternative Rock

New release by Luck Rock, and you know what that means! Alt Rock pony time! This time focusing on Twilight’s character depth, Luck made a wonderful tribute with more focus on vocals and keyboards, and the lovely vocals as well as the very “Twilight” melodies and sounds all do wonders to bring a very cute and warm experience for the ears as well as the soul!

The Shake Ups In Ponyville – Hey! Hey! | Power Pop

Focusing on paying tribute to the “Fab Four” Beatles in this new release from the upcoming album Ponymania!, The Shake Ups not only composed a very lovely song in their style but also went all the way to make a full music video, even dressing as them! Full of win, this song is also a nod at drummer Pinkie along the canon ponification of the Beatles as seen in S05E11 Party Pooped (which remains one of my favorite MLP episodes ever in great part thanks to that). I even got that picture edit printed on a T-shirt!

UndreamedPanic – Hold On (feat. Strigidae) | Synthpop / Electropop

This got me a lot Porter Robison feels! UndreamedPanic everyone! This artist is really prolific, a big name right now! But what jaw drop me the most was the soft and uplifting voice of Strigidae, which I’m a big fan. It was really nice of Panic choosing Strigidae for this vocal work! I can say this is the “Brony Shelter” because the drops, the cute vocal chops and the lyrics and the lyrical theme are all lovely and uplifting that makes you want to dance until you cry of joy. Also, shout-out for that cool Flutterdash drawing choosing, if feel really good for the topic of the song and the textures and flavours of it! Good job you two! You made me smile, a thing that I didn’t made since very long… Keep up the good work!

The Shake Ups In Ponyville – Magic Mirror | Power Pop

From the new album Ponymania! available for pre-order, Magic Mirror expresses through music another pony theme that is well-known in the community, that is the redemption of past villain characters, namely Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer! The band’s happy melodic style and warm vocals do wonders again to convey the fuzziness of the magic of Friendship, and that makes this song the perfect tribute!

FruityFusion – Pastelle Colors (feat. Imitator) | Indie Pop

Here is a wonderful chillaxing piece with a sprinkling of 80s vibes brought to us by FruityFusion, with some astoundingly smooth vocals from Imitator! This piece manages to pack in quite the atmosphere and energy for the pace it sets and makes use of some interesting textures and organic soundscapes (my personal favourite is the subtle wooden chimes) that all come together to form a dreamy and serene track that takes hold of you and doesn’t let go until the very end.

EnergyTone – Apples to the Core (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Rock

All of the awesome songs from the show shall never be forgotten, and EnergyTone’s cover of Apples to the Core is giving the musician’s Rock spin to the original all while paying much tribute to it. Rocking riffs and energetic vocals are all chanting that anthem for the Apple family all over again, including Pinkie of course!

Crusader! – Summer in Equestria | Pop

This song is a fun one to listen to; it is very 1990s-inspired!  The sound selection, the portrayal of the theme, etc. are well-thought of and executed.  The song just wants you to go out and have fun with friends.  What a way to spend the “Summer in Equestria”!  Nice work, Crusader!

4EverfreeBrony – Not Much to Miss (feat. EileMonty) | Pop Rock

4EverfreeBrony’s pony inspirations can truly be so very lovely, and this track’s theme is certainly one of my favorites from the musician! Mixing a long-time community theme with a relatively new character from the show, Not Much to Miss is about tsundEmber feeling unrequited love for Spike, who’s still in love with Rarity, that’s well-known, and still got his Rarity shirt and plushie! Inviting the renowned EileMonty to grace the song with her gorgeous vocals, 4EverfreeBrony delivers once more the sweet guitar bliss he’s known for, and makes this Pop Rock love song quite a strong addition to an already powerful discography of pony tunes!

Direct Current – You Drive Me Wild | Electropop

Direct Current’s You Drive Me Wild is a fun little retro sounding pop styled track about Octavia falling in love with Vinyl Scratch. I love the playful synths throughout the song and the lyrics are very fitting for the style of the track. The solo section that leads into the final set of lyrics has a wonderful build and sets up the ending of the song perfectly!
