Sofia Carson – Glowin’ Up (Enermatrix Remix) | House

Enermatrix is back! After a 4 year hiatus, Enermatrix is back to remixing, and how better to celebrate such a return then with a G5 remix! The track starts out with vocals and an awesome, upbeat drum build up before we head straight into the amazing melodies. At the beginning the drum loop shines through a lot, really supporting the vocals, and then for the build up we get some more awesome drums. And then the drop–oh, the drop! It’s an upbeat beat firework that fits really well with the chipper mood of the original. The song then takes one big risk that I rarely give songs credit for: the drop doesn’t really calm down, but between the end of the drop one and the next build up we get this spiced up version of the beginning. The second drop is just as amazing as the first, and I could sit here for hours telling you how great both drops are (like how they work together with the vocals instead of blowing over them or hiding behind them), but I think you get the picture. Finally, in one last, perfect connection with the vocals, the song, instrumental and all, stops right along with them.

Senntenial – Bronies are Weird (Likonan Remix) | Progressive House

Likonan is back again after dropping an absolute banger with their “The Riddle” parody, and now they’ve gone all the way back in time to Senntenial’s “Bronies are Weird” and turned it into this banger of a remix! The instrumental is full of fun effects and great melodies that are simply too good to fully appreciate in a single listen! The vocals have some great effects applied to them which creates a really fun combination with the synths. While in some songs the lyrics, especially in the drop, tend to stick out from the instrumental a lot, this song combines both into a harmony of greatness!

PhonyBrony & Feather – I’ll Show You my Loyalty (Aventrix Remix) | Progressive House

(Listen to the original here)
Don’t worry, my friends, this Qilin has not left you or this music scene. I just needed to regroup before getting back into the swing of things!
I come to you with quite the track for my first article in months, A classic remix of one of Feather’s list of the memorable Rainbow Dash tracks she has been a part of in the early days of the fandom. Aventrix takes PhonyBrony lively mix and switches the emotion to something more dreamlike, almost trance vibes to channel Rainbow Dash’s very spirit of loyally and always will be the heart of many bronies even into generation 5. The harmonies fuel the way feather sings those all too powerful vocals of friendship in generation 4. I promise you all, its exciting times for the brony music scene where remixes such as these from the early days of the fandom will mean so much more to fans of this pony music scene with two generations of pony to see new wonders of creativity. Aventrix, I know this song is weeks old, but the timing of this remix could not be better as it is a reminder to remember how we all got here. The lyrics mean more because ponies like Rainbow Dash will always be special. Onward to more fantastic music from this fandom! As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

Vylet Pony – ANTONYMPH (Evershade Remix) | House

Evershade takes on one of the biggest songs of the year with this sweet remix! This version launches straight into the vocals with in-your-face percussion, then adds in new synths that put a fun twist on the original and give the song a pulsing delivery. I enjoyed the switched up Fluttershy chops, and using the bouncy synth line that opens the original in other parts of the song was a nice touch as well. The original vocals are used creatively throughout, getting chopped around and used to build a nice chorus harmony in parts, and they sound clean despite being sped up. Overall this is a really well-made remix and a great tribute to the original!

Assertive Fluttershy – Boooring (Aventrix Remix) | Drumstep / Drum & Bass

Ahhhhh, this is such a fun trip! Aventrix, who may or may not be remixing every track on this little album, is at it again (or isn’t) with this wonderful remix of an absolute classic! The lovely melody of the original really comes through here with a new vibe thanks to a pitch shift and Aventrix’s lovely synth additions and little touches that breathe a different kind of life into the song. Paired with a slick video, it’s an absolute joy of a track!

GeekBrony & Drummershy – Last Tempest (feat. Vylet Pony) (Tw3Lv3 Remix) | Halftime / Neurofunk

Today we’ve got ourselves another banger from the amazing Tw3Lv3! The song “Last Tempest” is a few years old now, but that didn’t stop her from transforming it into this angry sounding, Neurofunk masterpiece. We start this track with a beat that slowly builds up until it hits us like a ton of bricks, and then the song ramps up to an amazing drop. After that we get this slower beat with slightly muffled lyrics, which creates a really good atmosphere for this song, before we return once more to the build up and drop and an awesome instrumental section. For the next drop we get a bit of a different melody, and afterwards we get a DnB-sounding part before the song slowly fades out.

Glimm x Khaliber & DJ Skystorm – Izzy Pop (Dropper Vampire & Varexis Remix) | Big Room House / Electro House

In case you hadn’t heard about it before, Glimm, Khaliber, and DJ Skystorm held a remix contest for their song “Izzy Pop“, and some fantastic artists got on board! Then they made the whole thing avaliable for free on Bandcamp! Legends. Speaking of legends, you’ve probably heard a few tracks from Dropper Vampire and Varexis before, and for good reason. The two super skilled artists created this awesome collaboration, which sounds like it’s being pumped from the speakers of Equestria’s hottest club! The fantastic vocals and melody from the original are carried over here, and the backing instrumental is pumped full of dark, vibrant energy, creating a lively and highly danceable soundscape. Daniel Ingram – At The Gala (Algo at All Remix) | Chillout

Algo at All has some absolutely fascinating mixes, and this slowed-down take on the Season 1 classic is one of them! The remix includes the vocals we all know from the original song, with an almost lo-fi beat and a trippy synth to guide the track along at its own pace. Using those small additions, Algo is able to create some interesting breaks between verses that really give the song a completely new feeling all its own. Later in the track, a few more instruments and pieces are introduced to keep the elongated piece fresh and unique.

My Little Remix – Brony vs. Brony Remix War X: 10th Anniversary Invitational | Compilation Album | Multi-Genre

Welcome one and all to a truly auspicious event: The latest installment in the My Little Remix series! For those that don’t know (which included me before this album), MLR began in 2011 when the pony music scene was absolutely exploding as a way of pulling artists together into a more cohesive community. There have been nine albums featuring some of the best talent of their respective times, and though the creative mayhem of the early days has come and gone, the songs that those artists and others who took up the horse music banner produced left an indelible impression on the fandom music landscape. What a wonderful delight, then, that the time-honored tradition of remixing has returned for yet another glorious compilation of fandom talent! This album is a really fantastic musical journey full of lovingly produced music, and it is my absolute pleasure to introduce you to its track along with my co-conspirator, Simon. So go download the album, kick back, and join us in this beautiful appreciation of horse music achievement! Also, how great is it that the tracks are labeled “befriends”? Whomever came up with that deserves a hearty huzzah! Alright, let’s get into it!

Daniel Ingram -The Midnight in Me (SpinScissor Remix) | Future Bass

Someone tell SpinScissor that he sure knows how to escalate the feels in his music! As this starts, you feel this deep fear and loathing building up as Sci-Twi sings, This emotional ride inside the anxious mind of Twilight only goes deeper once that drop hits. This chaotic mix of hardcore and future bass symbols the deep conflict inside her mind clashing with midnight sparkle and dreading she will come out and go on a path of destruction! The Experimental elements of this track fit the theme of this remix. You will be feeling emotional along with Sci-Twi too! As always, This Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
