Ponysphere & Unca-Secse – We Are Bad | Heavy Metal

Did this track come straight from the 80s? Ponysphere and Secret Metal (credited here as Unca-Secse) team up to create a heavy metal beast heavily inspired by metal from the 80s. The production, guitar and even the vocals (which sound like the late Ronnie James Dio at some points) are crafted straight out of that era of music, while the lyrics depict the rogue CMCs wreaking havoc across Equestria. It’s amazing what two minds and a lot of beer can come up with!

Djohn Mema – The Moon Light (feat. SlightlyAmiss, Cyril The Wolf, and Sable Symphony) | Metalcore

Brony fandom. It’s time for some real talk. The music scene of this fandom has been full of rich and diverse music since the dawn of the golden age back in 2011. You have embraced anyone who has put forth their best effort. All the hard work, all the effort and talent poured into a musician’s passion. It’s time you give one Djohn Mema your attention. Brony heavy metal is more than just a few artists that you’ve known for a long time. Djohn has been around for some time. He’s known for being a great drummer and guitarist, but it’s not his only strength.
This track has to be the finest showing of him being a vocalist. The Moon Light why yes is another song about the conflict between Celestia and Nightmare Moon. Djohn has written a song that takes Luna’s rage, adds C4 and lets loose. He is joined by Cyril the Wolf on bass, Sable Symphony on lead guitar and mixing,  and SlightlyAmiss on acoustic and vox.

The raw emotion in the lyrics, details a pissed off, emotional and pleading princess luna calling down to Celestia. She lets out one thousand years of pent up anger and sorrow surfacing in one giant massive comet coming down hard!. The melodies and production are powerful, brutal and full of sorrow. All the elements of amazing heavy metal are present. The one thing stands out from this track is Djohn’s vocal performance. If wasn’t more clear on how talented he is as a front man. It’s his performance in this track. He channels Nightmare Moon’s anger like a pissed off banshee. But its his singing voice that is beautiful in the choirs. Rage turns into scornful beauty, as he channels Luna’s emotions of sorrow. The man can do more than just scream. The man can sing with passion and beauty.  This is brony heavy metal at its best, it’s the full package. It personally reminds me of Corey Taylor’s vocal style. It’s so good! But decide for yourself. This Qilin always will ask for you to judge for yourself and give this man his due.

Koron Korak – Pony Daki Addict | DarkSynth

In honor of our very own Makenshi’s 30th birthday, Koron Korak has released a song dedicated to him! Pony Daki Addict is an industrial rock/synthwave piece that features plenty of orchestral elements and samples of Twilight along with it! The driving synth sounds like a distorted guitar which definitely helps with the industrial edge this song brings. What better gift could you think of than music?

Painters & Poets – Follow | Alternative Rock

Painters & Poets fly onto the scene with their debut song, Follow! P&P is a supergroup consisting of Acouste Wholenote and SlightlyAmiss, the former being the primary lyricist. Follow is a beautiful rock song that depicts a scenario between Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash, where the former sits about all upset about the fact that she can’t fly… yet. For a good chunk of the track, it’s lead by an acoustic guitar, with the occasional burst of distorted guitars in the chorus, though the song finally comes to life after the second chorus, where the guitars come in full force, even throwing in a couple admirable solos! The song closes out with some nice closure, showing that Scootaloo can, in fact, fly and chase her dreams. What a great first impression this group has left us!

MelodyBrony – DreamCatcher | Melodic Hardcore

Another song from MelodyBrony’s debut album ORIGINS has arrived! This one is about Rainbow Dash dreaming about becoming a WonderBolt, cementing it as a sequel to his other song about the latter. Unlike the other songs on the album, this one showcases MB actually singing for once, and his voice sounds somber and fits the tone of the song well. The instrumental is very driving and powerful, and keeps the pedal to the metal, after each verse; it’s a perfect fit for a pony like Rainbow Dash. Gotta hand it to this guy for being as prolific as he is!

MelodyBrony – Origins (feat. CadetRedShirt) | Pop Punk

We’ve got ourselves the first and title track from MelodyBrony’s debut album, Origins. This track is a speedy rock piece about Starlight Glimmer, with CadetRedShirt providing vocals. The drums hit hard and the overall tone of the guitars suits Cadet’s voice well, like an early Paramore song. MB keeps proving to be one of the fandom’s upcoming heavy stars.

Francis Vace – Bright Pink Horse | Ska Punk

And so, we’ve come to the sixth and final track from Francis Vace’s Horses In Real Life EP. With Pinkie being as hyperactive as she is, a pony like her deserves a fast track, and that’s exactly what Bright Pink Horse is. Pinkie’s brought her rambunctious party animal attitude to the real world and can’t seem to stop dancing! The music is fast paced and full of crunchy guitars and trumpets that fit her hyperactivity perfectly. An exciting end to an equally exciting EP!

Francis Vace – A Horse Chained To A Tree | Ska Punk

She’d like to be a tree. Track 5 on Horses In Real Life is A Horse Chained To A Tree, a crunchy ska punk song about a very determined Fluttershy who absolutely refuses to let it be turned into land by way of cutting down the trees. For such a shy pony, the verses are very fast-paced as well as having a loud chorus! This song does a great job at showing her assertive side.
