A delightful treat, Elias Frost’s own response to Punk Rarity’s determination and beauty of the inside in S07E19 It Isn’t the Mane Thing About You is a Gothic-inspired rock piece with blissful riffs and fitting synths reflecting Rarity’s strength and passion as she shines from the inside out. The guitar solos are top-notch and overall In the Rain is quite the choon to jam and headbang to, giving homage to Rarity! Definitely a piece that she would listen to, to remind her of her fabulous self!
Rock
[P@D] Replacer – Paper Lady | Indie Pop / Hip-Hop
One of my top favorites from P@D Anthology, this new very unique track from Replacer has got quite an intricate and elaborate story set in the past Equestria, and it’s told through poetic lyrics and blissful vocals through an instrumental of many wonders. Acoustic guitar, synths that will remind you of some Classic Rock and Prog Rock goldies from the 70s, and even an Ambient part, this masterpiece of a track is quite the unique gem. Replacer even drew the cover art himself, representing the character from the story!
And The Rainfall – Skýjaglópur | Experimental Rock
Inspired by Austraeoh, a fanfiction written by Imploding Colon, And The Rainfall delivers an amazing experiment. Also, OH MY GOOOOD, And The Rainfall is back!!!!!!!!!!!1 Let’s celebrate with this write-up!
I cannot describe how happy and emotional I was when I saw the notification, it was soo surreal, but it was true, And The Rainfall, one of the best pony artists return and made a really experimental and ethereal track!
Skýjaglópur is one hell of track! Energetic vocals, noisy and lo-fi guitar solos and riffs, amazing drumming, great performance of the synths and keyboards and some really awesome lyric writing. I love it so much, and if you buy the track on bandcamp, all proceeds will go towards charities that are helping the people affected by the 3 big earthquakes of Mexico, ATR’s home state.
Welcome back And The Rainfall!!! Keep up the good work!
Ponies At Dawn – Anthology | Compilation Album | Multi-Genre
It’s been a big year for Ponies At Dawn; January saw an ambitious project of an album composed entire of collabs, covers and remixes; June marked the release of Guardians, the biggest main album to date; now they’re back with something special.
Anthology isn’t like any of the other albums. The first half of the album is a collection of brand new tracks from P@D favourites such as DJT, UndreamedPanic, Silver Note, Frozen Night, Exiark and many more! The second half brings some of the best songs from all the past albums released by the collective, as chosen by the staff who put the albums together.
But that’s not all. Something that’s been requested for a long time by fans of the P@D albums is a physical release. Well merch fanatics, your wish has been granted!

This limited edition 3CD release features half of the new tracks (they couldn’t fit it all in!) on one disc and all the of the “golden oldies” on the other two. If you’re as big a fan of Ponies At Dawn as I am, don’t pass up the chance to get your hands on one of these!
Anthology is available to download for free on the Ponies At Dawn bandcamp page, and the CDs are available to purchase for $20, and are due to be shipped in early November.
Sable Symphony – Flawless (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Metal
Flawless definitely has impacted many of us and we’re pleased to get Sable Symphony’s own cover of the meaningful song from S07E14 Fame and Misfortune. With his signature rocking vocals and skillful guitar play, Sable gives the original an awesome Metal arrangement that pays tribute to the song once more!
Osoch – Stealer of Magic (feat. Ponysphere & Chris Wöhrer) | Djent / Progressive Metal
I like my Metal like my tea: black and with some Meshuga! And I love this wonderful collab. So take your black teas, add the meshuga and headbang to some kickass Metal!
God damnit, did you understand the joke? Because this really has some Meshugahh vibes, and that band is the creator of Djent. The guitar riffs, the harsh vocals, the drumming and the bass line; everything mixes so well together to astronomic levels of djentness! The guitar solo performed by Wöhrer was on point. Ponysphere’s vocals are my favorite part, because I love his harsh vocals, the way that he perform them is certainly amazing and awesome. Osoch’s vocals are awesome too, I loved the harsh vocals and Osoch’s instrumentation! I love every piece of this and I’m waiting from more vocal and original tracks coming from you Osoch! (Hope you get the joke)
It’s great to see Osoch back, after his writer’s block and final exams. He needed to contact this amazing collaborators and in waiting for their parts survived 2 goddamn earthquakes and power cuts in the space of 2 weeks! Give him some of the love he deserves for pushing through everything!
Rockin’Brony – Spectrum (Covering Re:Make) | Symphonic Metal
Part of an ongoing new series of covers of goldie-oldie pony songs from Re:Make (formerly AcousticBrony), this revival of Spectrum sure does justice to the original with an expert guitar play and Symphonic Metal arrangement. The melodies from the show songs “Winter Wrap Up” and “At The Gala” are as emotional as always, and give much S1 nostalgia!
Metajoker – Better Off (feat. GatoPaint) | Alternative Metal / Post-Grunge
With a emotional and nostalgic feeling, Metajoker with help of GatoPaint created Better Off! The new hot tune of the month! Really nice warm and ethereal vibes coming from the track, well we really are on Autumn!
The guitar riffs are really well performed along with the piano chords, Metajoker and GatoPaint did a really awesome job in this! The mix between the two along with awesome drumming, nice control of reverb and mixing, great production qualities, and an awesome vocal performed by the 2 artists singing really deep and emotional lyrics with a nostalgic and warm instrumental made this track a really nice Autumn song for headbang all night long or doing your morning walk! Both artists did an awesome job and reminded me of acts such Breaking Benjamin, Bush and Hurt! Metajoker is an awesome pianist and vocalist and GatoPaint is an awesome guitarist and vocalist! Keep up the awesome work!
Horse Music Hotspot – September 2017

We’re back again! This month’s episode features not only a very eclectic mix of new and older artists to the fandom, but an (in my opinion) exceptionally strong orchestral game. Settle in for an hour-long selection of some of our faves of September, including a couple from a certain upcoming Ponies At Dawn album!

Tracklist and embeds available after the break
Luck Rock – Orchard in the Sky | Soft Rock
Inspired by The Perfect Pear, Luck Rock sings an amazing ballad about Big Mac and Sugar Belle. With some outstanding acoustic guitar and strings backing up his amazing singing, one can really feel the love being shown in Luck Rock’s song. I especially love the choruses, the lyrics are just so beautiful that it’s chilling, and the backing vocals in the final chorus are superb. Well done Luck Rock!
