Silver Note – Stars | Orchestral Pop Rock

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 15 February 2017.

Silver Note is one of my favourite vocalists in the fandom, and the fact that he always manages to supplement his terrific clean vocals with compelling instrumentals is a definite bonus. Here the instrumental steadily swells to a crescendo with multiple different orchestral and acoustic elements complementing some beautiful lyricism about one of the classic ships of the fandom, TaviScratch. A thoroughly professional sounding piece, make sure to check it out!

DivinumX – Child of Starfall | Death Metal

DivinumX’s last pony-related song was released so long ago that it predates the creation of this site, so it seems this is their first ever feature here, but what an entrance to make, eh? I’m probably not qualified to comment on the technicalities of this track, but the constantly changing drum patterns and awesome solo sections are what catch my attention the most about this track. And even better, it’s a two-parter, so subscribe to DivinumX to keep an eye out for that future sequel!

Elias Frost – Celestia’s Ballad (covering Daniel Ingram) | Folk/Metal

NB: This was originally posted on Equestria Daily on 14 February 2017.

Elias Frost is back with another show cover, this time of Celestia’s Ballad. For the most part it’s a pretty chilled out and focuses on some soft instrumentation and Elias’ vocals, but it gets a bit metal towards the end where there’s an instrumental solo. The vocals here suit his voice really well, as whilst the original came across relatively motherly in tone, this certainly has a similarly fatherly feel to it.

Rejoice everypony, The L-Train is back with a new collaboration shining with the power of Friendship, and this one is about none other than our beloved Princess of Friendship herself! As we are graced by an amazing intrumental of many Metal and Orchestral progressive wonders the L-Train way, FenPony unleashes incredible vocals that are as great-sounding as they are catchy and cool. Brownie – Boooring! (Covering Assertive Fluttershy) | Metal

Here’s an amazing treat! Unless you’ve missed on some major pony music history, I’m pretty sure you all remember the classic Boooring! from Assertive Fluttershy that was included in the very first Balloon Party album, well rejoice because it has just been delivered in a epic Metal rearrangement from Brownie! As the emotion from the nostalgia and from rediscovering that classic in a rock music format arises, we get overwhelmed along the top-notch guitar and bass performance, the blissful sound, and the original melodies that lulled so many of our early brony days. Much thanks to Brownie for this emotional callback and masterpiece of a cover, keep rocking!

The Shake Ups In Ponyville – All Aboard the Friend-ship! | Power Pop

Time for another YouTube release of a song from The Shake Ups’ latest album Rock Candy! (Which I would like to remind you is available as a physical CD on their cdbaby page, and in import, too! And it’s pretty slick, I grabbed it myself.) A Twilight-themed track and a favorite of the band, All Aboard the Friend-ship! conveys so well the unique traits of the signature pony Power Pop genre that the band is known for. The sweet and very MLP-ish lead vocals from “Twi-Fi Sparklecaster” Patrick O’Connor are melting the heart, while the friendly and just as Equestria-worthy instrumental contributes even further to make this track such a sugary condensed of pony-powered happiness in musical format. It just makes you smile so wide as the song unfolds. See this page for more details about the band, and let your cheering be heard everypony!

Velvet Wings & SDreamExplorerS – Forgotten Reality | Gothic Metal

Already delighting us with their Voyager masterpiece Little Feather and its Nightwish/Lacuna Coil/Within Temptation musical influences, the duo of many wonders composed of Velvet R. Wings and SDreamExplorerS is back with a much welcomed new release. Giving off a much enjoyable Gothic Metal vibe, the song displays Velvet’s almighty vocals that honor the genre very well, and for now we can only wonder about the meaning of the Russian lyrics, but judging by the amazing cover art I’m sure it’s pretty cool. SDreamExplorerS aka Soul Strings does an incredible job at the instrumental, perfectly accompanying the vocals and displaying much grace and force with both piano and guitar play.

[P@D] Luna Ticks – No Explanation | Punk Rock

Blissful bass, drums, and guitar play from Francis Vace merges with the best Punk Rock vocals from Quicksilver to create this delightful piece of Amity now coming with extra narky S1 Twilight greatness. Too often I feel like there is No Explanation for the otherworldly emotions that music can make you feel, and perhaps in the manner of Twilight at the end of Feeling Pinkie Keen, we should just seek solace in the reality of the fact, in this case letting the amazing vocals and top-notch instrumental enlighten the soul as our rock spirit takes us right in the middle of a gig in Equestria where this song is being played. Don’t forget to show your support to the musicians and thank them for this treat!
