Zizkil – Zizkil Digs Through His Garbage Can Cuz He Dropped His Keys In The Trash Can | Album | Various Genres

So, everypony, today we’ve got an album full of amazing randomness by Zizkil. The whole album is a compilation of unfinished songs he made over time, and it includes both small pieces of unfinished songs and songs that are pretty much finished but haven’t been released. He himself says that some songs on this album might be considered cringe, but either way there’s a plethora of different genres on it! This article’s intention is to highlight some of these great songs, both short and long, because there really is some good stuff on here!

TCB – :TWI: (Tw3Lv3 Remix) | Future Bass

Today we’ve got ourselves a track by TCB remixed by Tw3Lv3. The track starts out with a lovely Christmas-y melody which is quickly joined by vocal chops, and the whole track ramps up a notch. The track is filled with crystal clean sounds and ascending/descending melodies. You get a drop, and then the melody calms down, only to throw another jump-worthy drop at you afterwards. It gives the whole track a definite structure while still shifting throughout, which is a difficult combination to pull off, but Tw3Lv3 absolutely nails it!

[P@D] replacer – high & dry | Indie Pop

Today we’ve got ourselves another amazing track from replacer! He brings us this fantastic (insert genre) track as part of P@D’s “Eclipse” Album. The song immediately grabs your ear with a catchy melody, and replacer doesn’t wait long before he throws some stunning lyrics at us. However, just because we have vocals now doesn’t mean the music gets any less amazing; it just takes a back seat and works in tandem with replacer’s voice for most of the track. The combination has an oddly calming effect, which is always a bonus for me. This is one of those songs I can highly recommend playing as soothing background music while doing any type of work so you don’t go all cray cray, and it’s also great for just chilling out after a long day at work or school. In the end we get the sound of wind whisking us on to the next track of our playlist. Twitter: @replacer808

Heartlead – Downtown Housepony (That’s Right!) | House

Today we’ve got ourselves a first, everypony! I proudly present to you the first featured song of Heartlead. “Downtown Housepony” is a lovely house track that goes all out for seven whole minutes and still keeps everything fresh and new, never getting boring. The track starts us off with an amazing beat that is quickly joined by an equally awesome drum loop and some more components as the song continues. Close to the middle of the track another synth takes over center stage, and we have more of the awesome progression that keeps this track at a stellar grade, and the progression never stops! I could gush on for pages about the progression and the changes and vocal chops in this track, but I think you get the point, so go on and listen to it yourself!

MirroredReality- Magic | House/Psytrance

Today everypony we return to MirroredReality, who brings us an amazing House/Psytrance mix song about the greatest and most powerful Magician and Showmare in Equestria! The track starts out extremely catchy but only gives you enough time to realize what a masterpiece you’ve stumbled on before it throws the first build up and drop at you. In the drop especially you can hear the Psytrance elements shining but always with this happy house vibe. After the drop ends the song transitions more and more into this darker Psytrance vibe until the second drop fully embraces it, which makes for a lovely progression. After the second drop we return once more to the happy upbeat melody which is quickly replaced by a more mysterious beat only to be added back on, making for an odd but just as awesome combination. For a third drop we get a combination of drops one and two for a final progression. As an outro we once more get the happy House/Psytrance melody from the beginning.

GeekBrony – Pony Zone: Round Three (feat. 15ai & PVPP) | Drum and Bass

Psst…it’s time.

(WARNING: VERY SEXUALLY EXPLICIT LYRICS)

That’s right – after the first two installations earlier this year, GeekBrony went all out with a full visual video and song 5 months in the making. We return to the pony zone, this time focusing on Rainbow Dash and Applejack whose chops were supplied through show clips and the help of 15ai and the Pony Voice Preservation Project. The instrumental works well with the DnB beat given the quick, heart rate-increasing tempo. GeekBrony makes great use of an added synth to transition measure to measure. While that loops, the focus stays primarily on what the ponies are singing to the listener.

The lyrics and erotic and degenerate.

The visuals on the video are pretty amazing! GeekBrony edited the whole video to have each member of the Mane 6 on screen singing their parts, moving around, and making faces. There are some added flash graphics for those that know. It is really captivating to watch and helps demonstrate just how much work went into this project!

7th Stive – Frames | Bass House

Every now and then there’s a song that catches you off guard with how good it is! It should be no surprise that 7th Stive can turn out a hot, dirty mix like Frames given how hot their tracks have been this year!

Frames is the first song off their amazing new album of the same name (which you should definitely check out and buy!) The track starts off with an unassuming lead, syncopated excellently to lead into the beat. The bass on this track is fantastic – making it impossible not to nod your head along. Add in some extra sound effects and professional sound design and you’ve got an amazing door into an even more amazing album!

Polarhigh – Memories Of Places You’ve Never Been | Indie Dance

Polarhigh pops up every now and then with a new jam. Memories of Places You’ve Never Been is a fun instrumental with a lot of great composition going for it. The track utilizes a funky bass line throughout which keeps the energy and groove going. The song’s strongest asset is the creative use of so much instrumentation – it starts with high strings before adding in a synth, drums, and bass. Add in an ambient synth, mix it all together and you’ve got a fun, boppin’ soundtrack!

bank pain – The Long Defeat | Album | Electronic

Best known for his work on Ponies at Dawn, bank pain has just unleashed The Long Defeat, a concept album that had been in the works for a year. Accompanying the 11-track release is a booklet containing a lengthy story. Track 1 – “and our hands are…” is a nice lo-fi track that begins with an acoustic guitar with some atmospheric ambient synths behind it. There’s a small build up with light percussion and what sounds like wind instruments before things break down and we hear the sound of a marching drum. Right off the bat, the sound design for this album is something truly amazing. peacekeeper 2020, a remake of the original from 2017, sees a heavy yet atmospheric drumstep style. The juxtaposition of the soft strings and rain sounds combined with the strong bass and hard-hitting drums – especially when it speeds up halfway through – makes for something truly spectacular. The next track is fog in the treetops which features violin from Koron Korak and a continuation of the amazing sound design we’ve seen so far. This track slows things down and lets the instruments breathe. The other songs with guests also stick out, especially shellshock cafe with SDreamExplorerS and nightmares in iron with Burning Gryphon. The latter track features a slightly wonky beat which gives it a chaotic edge. Overall, The Long Defeat stands as one of this year’s best releases, and will leave you wanting more once it’s over. We’ve been through a lot this year, but I guarantee this will lift you up just a little bit!

[P@D] Faulty & John Kenza – Best Of Friends (feat. PegasYs) (BlackIceMusic Remix) | Future Bounce

Okay, everypony, before I get into my whole article spiel I’ll have to explain something: This song is absolutely amazing, and I have way more stuff to say than normal, so after the main Article there will be a part of me rambling about arguably small details and things that I specifically loved. You can read the extra part or not; it won’t take anything away from the main article (I should also mention that while I try to keep my articles as objective as possible the extra part will be entirely subjective).

So, everypony, today we have another track from P@D’s recent charity album “Introspection”, and what a pleasure it is for me to talk about this one! BlackIceMusic brings us this amazing remix of “Best of Friends”, a Future Bounce track that is sure to make you not only nod along but will even get you jumping up and down to the beat (You could even say it will make you bounce!). The track starts out with a lovely bounce melody that will give you an initial feeling for how great this track is. The amazing vocals by PegasYs quickly join in, and they are (as far as I can tell) not altered at all. As the vocals start the beat takes a back seat only to quickly ramp up again while the song becomes increasingly melodic as we get close to the drop. For the last few pre-drop lines the beat becomes more and more like the original but still keeps its own identity. The drop is just an explosion of fun bounce melodies and is pretty faithful to the original. As the drop ends the song progresses as it did before with first having a quieter beat that quickly ramps up again, but in between it switches to a different beat, again staying close to the original but still having its own sound and appeal. The second drop is slightly different from the first and gives the whole song a lovely progression. For the finale we get the last lines from PegasYs, but instead of ending there this remix ends on some more of the amazing beat.

(personal rambling after the break)
