Join the Macarony once again for some resonantly nostalgic show tune remixes. Breakbeat-themed drums, strong basses, and beautifully sizzling leads make this song reminiscent of classic fandom icons. The atmospheric interludes of the vocoded vocals of the original make it even more bittersweet. This song makes me miss the music of the early 2010’s so much so, and upon listening to it, I’m certain you will too.

Zephysonas – Kirin Forest | Orchestral
Another gem from the great Zephysonas. This time, we’ve got a number that’ll definitely bring you to another place. Throughout are the soft sounds of nature, complete with relaxing piano chords and string instruments, bringing a calming atmosphere, definitely reminiscent of the Kirin. If you need to relax or just need some soothing background noise to help you with anything, this is your piece.
[ASOS] GrazySmash & ponycutz – You Rock | Complextro
You Rock is another example of the talent this fandom has, bringing heavy and powerful sound design with amazing rhythm and creativity. A part of the newly released ASoS album, Waffle, it expands the variety of music in it and confirms even more that the album is definitely worth the listen. A slow start with very a serious and cyber punk style shows this song doesn’t mess around. Going into the drop it ups the tention, which transitions to a pure enjoyment and headshaking that wasn’t heard in a while. And in the Waffle style, it makes a transition to a completely different genre, and you guessed it, it’s psytrance. Energetic, and strong bass is present that again, switches back to the first drop. The song is one of the prime examples that shows the quality of both producers and the quality of the album. That’s GrazySmash and Ponycutz.
Pinkamena Party – PONYDOME VII: INJECTED WITH PONY | Compilation Album | Multi-Genre
Ah, the 7th Pinkamena Party Crew project. This time coming in the brand of Ponydome VII: Injected with Pony. Ponydome comes with 50 individual tracks and includes the PPC’s BronyCon 2019 performances. Here are some quotes from my favorite moments of the aforementioned performances:
“Pinkie Pie! Pinkie Pieee!!! PINKIE PIE! PINKIEeeEE PiEE!!!” “Ponyponyponyponyponyponyponyponypony.” “The year was 20 A.D., B.C., simultaneously. For the first time and the last time and the first time only, pingpingpingpingpingpingping.”
The fourth live jam entitled Applejack! also contains a spontaneous freestyle section from community veteran MicTheMicrophone. The album is fitted with a consistent intro, all the way from the think breaks and the atmospheric chords of En Vogue pts I and II to the piano funk of Lickety’s Split. After that, bring yourself to an amen-populated Hooverville with Enuna’s tracks Hooves for the Hoofed and Filly Meal Friends. For only the hardest floors, break necks with the eery Promenade and the ever-inventive diatonic gabber kicks of Pink Elephants at the Rave. Back to back acid tracks Oh Shit! It’s Paw Patrol and cmap.exe provide some very unique atmospheres to the album. For more unique emotions, follow the [non-]fiction of One Night in Cherry Jubilee. There are so many inventive bangers on this compilation that I wish I could cover them all in only this small paragraph. Instead, I strongly recommend listening on your own. If you like EBM, Hardcore, and supporting charity then you won’t be disappointed.
Vylet Pony – Healing | Dream Pop
I really need to listen to Vylet’s album Love Letters: Colourless. When you think of Rainbow Dash, and the vast amount of brony music made about her, there is a lot of energetic, fast pace, songs that fits her character. Healing is a really nice change of flavor to the more stereotypical tracks.
Vylet Pony has made something soft and uplifting. The melodies are like a powerful wave of inspiration – very reminiscent of Rainbow Dash! The lyrics evoke emotions of her struggles. Vylet’s voice is so good over the harmonies, they make you feel like you’re in a dream watching the story take place. The message of Healing is powerful and wise. You need time to heal, time away from everything to put the pieces back together. Do yourself a favor and check out this song + Vylet’s album!
John Doe – Sweet Home | Soundtrack
New Pony Town music! Treat yourself in this relaxing collage of plucked strings, flute, and piano. The plucked strings set a celestial tone, the reverberant brass sets a grand query, and the flute and percussion answer it. The piano and strings then ride along until a new query comes about. Combined with the familiarity of Pony Town, this music won’t let you down in any armchair scenario.
Nyancat380 – Paranoia | Skullstep
This track has a slow, kind of ominous build up to quick drum/bass-esque segments with calm parts in between. It also has lines of dialogue from the show mixed in, which in my opinion really adds to the atmosphere of the song. Overall a good piece of music if you like hardcore, dark stuff!
Equestria Electric Symphony Orchestra – Friends Matter | Pop
Moon Flame, powered by the magic of friendship, has woven together another lovely tune! Much like his other material, this one takes influence from 80s pop ballads, from the slow pace to the synth melodies in the background. Flame sings about friendship, a topic near and dear to him; no matter where life can bring you, friendship always triumphs in the end!
Frozen Night – Crescentiform (feat. Velvet R. Wings) | Orchestral / Symphonic Metal
Epic battle theme time? I think it’s epic battle theme time.
Just imagine, you’re just a Kirin, walking a lonesome path along the outer boundaries of the forest surrounding your village in the dwindling twilight. Suddenly, you are attacked by some strange creatures as they come at you from the forest, blasting you with magic bursts. You leap to evade their attacks and fires back, blinding them with your own magic. The battle won’t end until either you fall in battle, or when you’ve defeated them all in defense of your village.
This track gives me a very “Child of Light”-ish vibe, in a good way, of course. The soft but intense orchestral instruments blends with the strong electric guitar riffs to become one amazing treat for the listener with an adventurous ear. Kudos for Frozen Night and Velvet R. Wings for delivering this amazing track!
PrinceWhateverer & Sable Symphony – Holy Fire (feat. Blackened Blue) | Metalcore
Fresh off his album Reimagine, Comes a song that we’ve been waiting for. Let me tell you something, my fellow bronies. THIS is how you do a song about Daybreaker! Prince, with help from the wonderful Sable Symphony. Presents the internal fight Princess Celestia has with her other side Daybreaker! OH my, the RAGE in this song. PrinceWhateverer focuses on the theme of Celestia trying to keep it together. Telling herself that she a good pony. That she refuses to use her true power and magic for her own desires. BUT she can’t get away from this presence she feels within. Then comes in Daybreaker screaming at Celestia that she knows the truth. That it’s only a matter of time before others see past her smiling face, that she Daybreaker will come out and burn Equestria to the ground. This is how you present Daybreaker, as a raging inferno inside the princess of the sun. The lyrics, The guitars, the melodies. The amazing voice of PrinceWhateverer’s harmonizing of Celestia’s side with the brutal screaming rage of Daybreaker’s side. The back and forth is perfect for a song like this. Its reminds me of songs done by the likes of bands like Killswitch Engaged. A fellow colleague of HMH Blackened Blue lends a hand in the final screaming rage of Daybreaker and the song ends on a sweet and soft Electronica melody reminding Celestia that Daybreaker will never go away. This is Daybreaker done right with METAL! As always this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
