Evershade takes us to The World Above with this very cuddly song starring their cute vocals! Very Equestrian for sure, the mellow track feels like a warm hug, or like rolling in the fluffy clouds in the sky. With friends in our heart it’s even better, I’m sure thinking about everypony I love so much while listening to this song and escaping in that comfy place!

[P@D] Luck Rock & Friends – Do You Know | Pop Rock
Before I start this article, I want to say something very personal about Luck Rock. This song hits such a deep personal chord with me, as well as with the man with whom I am co-writing this, Makenshi. I have had the honor to know and watch Luck for the past four years in our local meetup group, watching him grow and achieve so much. As I write this, I would like the whole fandom to know something. I would not be writing for Horse Music Herald, or doing anything meaningful in this fandom if it were not for Luck Rock. He has inspired me, given me courage, sparked my creativity, and has been so incredibly kind by helping a guy who was lost in 2017 until I found this fandom. None of this would be possible without him just being the guy he is. And this song is his greatest achievement to date. So, let’s talk about that.
(Continued after the break)
Studio Quinn – Discord’s Remorse | Indie Pop
Studio Quinn made such a lovely tribute to Discord’s character depth, accompanied by a fitting artwork by JustKat! The vocals sung in Discord’s perspective will make you sympathize for his struggles, and the Discord quotes in the video will remind you just how deep of a character he was always meant to be in the show!
Sawtooth Waves – To The Skies (feat. Chi-Chi) | Electropop
Sawtooth Waves, formerly known as Notion, returns with their first original in nearly 2 years! To The Skies is a cute and bouncy pop track featuring the adorable vocals of Chi-Chi as the part of Scootaloo, singing about the all-too familiar concept of her being unable to fly with her tiny wings and coping with her emotions all the while. Along with this banger comes a brilliant PMV, made by a talented group! Perfection in one single package.
[The Rest of Our Lives] Direct Current – Redshift (feat. Evdog) | Indie Electronica
Hot off the new compilation album The Rest of Our Lives, Direct Current and Evdog really plant one in the feels with Redshift. The sound design and ambiance in this track are incredible. The depth of the instrumental feels like it is coming from another dimension and time. The vocals are heavily processed to really give it a feel that feeling of being something beyond this world. Lyrically the vocals sing about great friendships and memories past and how that time lives on to strengthen us as we venture into the unknown of the future. Slowly paced to really savor the nostalgic emotion, you really get the opportunity to feel all the warm, uplifting, and even somber melodies that come from an incredibly well-crafted song.
All proceeds from The Rest of Our Lives album will go towards the Brony Thank You Fund, which is currently providing supplies to mask makers during the COVID-19 outbreak. Any contribution helps and the album is packed-full with incredible tunes and talent!
[The Rest of Our Lives] Space Horse Manifesto – [Chapter I] Remembering (Origin & Depth) – A Tribute to AndTheRainfall | Alternative Rock
The opener track of the new tribute compilation album The Rest of Our Lives is itself a tribute to And the Rainfall and works as a spiritual successor to the song Tulips! There’s just so much heart poured in this breathtaking piece of more than 7 minutes and you can feel the love from all of the musicians who contributed, in both the music and the video that I recommend watching along the song! With deep quotes and Background Pony inspiration, sweet feelings giving birth to creative musical endeavors, and meaningful visuals, this masterpiece and joint effort is certainly a timeless gem!
Various Artists – The Rest of Our Lives | Compilation Album | Multi-Genre
Another compilation makes its way into the fandom in the form of The Rest of Our Lives, a tribute to the show and fandom. The album contains 13 diverse tracks from various musicians across various genres such as Tw3Lv3, Replacer, Ditherer and Evdog just to name a few. The opening track, Remembering (Origin & Depth) by Space Horse Manifesto is an atmospheric rock song that stretches across 7 minutes and goes from being a spacey, ambient rock piece to having full-on funky electronic pop influences halfway through. The very next track is River of Dismay, Tw3Lv3’s first of four appearances on the album and an emotional drum n’ bass track that utilizes a piano to create beautiful soundscapes, making it one of the album’s highlights. Stand-out tracks are the previously mentioned Remembering and River of Dismay, loophoof and Tw3Lv3’s remix of the SoGreatandPowerful classic On My Own, Evdog‘s Through the Veil, an uplifting rock track with soaring vocals and lyrics with references to the show and its characters, and Freewave‘s Twilight Sleeps Loudly, an ambient piece that feels like the soundtrack to Twilight taking a much deserved rest after earning her title as the ruler of Equestria. Overall, this compilation serves as a lovely sendoff to the show and while it’s not as diverse or prolific as fellow compilations Ponies At Dawn or VibePoniez, there’s enough unique songs that anyone can find enjoyment in. All donations made towards the album will be put towards the Brony Thank You Fund, a charity which is currently providing supplies to mask makers during the COVID-19 outbreak.
[P@D] Foozogz & 4EverfreeBrony – Fire Of Friendship (feat. Mei) | Electro Pop
Track 31, of P@D: Ignite is another series finale inspired gem I tell ya. This song’s message is quite simple. Friendship, Special ones can change everything. It opens doors. It fills empty holes in yourself. It gives you life again. It saves lives, like it has so many in this fandom. Channeling Twilight from “The last problem”.Foozogz and 4Everfreebrony‘ sing in harmony some powerful stuff. The music itself is a charming and upbeat beat that synths together with a little bit of Pop. Electro and classic rock. Throw in a 80’s style guitar solo just for kicks. Then you have an amazing pop ballad that reminds you what matters in life. It’s a soulful track that brings the reason we love this fandom front and center with good music making at its core. As always. this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Rinnie – Celestia’s Ballad (Covering Daniel Ingram) | Rock
Rinnie’s latest cover from the show is of Celestia’s Ballad, one of the more memorable numbers from season 3. The added guitars and drums add a new feeling to the original, complimenting Celestia’s voice. The overall sound feels like something from the 80s thanks to the electronic drum sounds and additional keyboard riffs towards the end, and the original audio from the episode where she transforms (without the visuals, mind you) adds a lot of suspense!
[P@D] Replacer – Days of Silence | Indie Pop
Ah imagination. Without it in childhood, could a lot of people create in their older years? This wonderful track 25, on P@D: Ignite. It’s really is like a soft dream that reminds you of those soft rock songs of the 60’s and 70’s. Where you drifted in and out of your own imagination. The lyrics done here by Replacer tells of a young Pegsai colt that likes to dream and make his own worlds and characters. Real life mirrors this for all of us. Being that strange kid that went out into the woods and fields and played pretend all by himself for hours. The song tells this story so well. It’s so wonderful. In full circle, this show we love is a world of make believe that had inspired so much creativity. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
