Ponyville Ciderfest – 2019 Official Convention Album | Compilation Album | Multi-Genre


Ponyville Ciderfest, the MLP:FiM convention coming up this week in Milwaukee, Wisconsin has just released a new compilation album featuring many of the musicians that will perform at the big concert! This year, the convention is holiday-themed and several of the songs on this album are new or remastered holiday tracks! The range of music is extremely diverse and flows very nicely from start to finish. Here are just a few of the many highlights on the album.

The first track is an unreleased song from Vocal Score and really sets the stage for the whole CD. Extremely festive and flowing beautifully into The Heart Carol from the original Hearth’s Warming Episode.

Prince Whateverer makes a few appearances on the Holiday Album, most notably with his new metal cover of the classic, Nightmare Night. John Kenza and loophoof, who will be performing a back-2-back together, feature remixes of each other’s songs. Galen of the Wonderbolts band and Brilliant Venture release brand new holiday hits. MC Arch also has a brand new and powerful track entitled Oathkeeper.

Other well-recognized names include 4everfreebrony, Black Gryph0n and Baasik, JoinedTheHerd with CadetRedShirt, Seventh Element, Nevermourn & TCB, MelodyBrony, Francis Vace, and more!

All proceeds go to Generations Against Bullying – the Ciderfest charity which aims to reduce childhood bullying through research and education, so be sure to help out if you can!

Dizzy Inmotion – Miss Shimmer | Hip-Hop

The continuation to the story of Dizzy’s concept album, this musical part happening after the previous skit is enacting Sunset’s inner battle with the darkness in her! Epic lyrics and vocals of much conviction are playing the struggle so well, and a lot more depth just got added as the excitement for what will happen next is reaching its climax!

Dizzy Inmotion – Dance For Me | Hip-Hop

This groovy track brought to you by Dizzy Inmotion is like hanging out a tavern with a fireplace after a long day. You’re sipping booze with your best mates, hitting up the bartender and staring blankly at the live singer on stage with his deadpan drummer in the background. Over in the corner of your blurring vision, you see the resident dancer getting ready to get on stage, so you shout to her, your semi-drunken voice echoing throughout the dimly lit tavern, “Hey girl! Dance for me!”
It’s a song about getting laid, basically, like every other hip-hop songs. However, I do like the soundscape the artist built for your imagination. If you ever played as Primrose in Octopath Travelers, you will know what I’m talking about.  Anyway, you will not be disappointed when you click the play button. Great job, Dizzy!

New album full of pony tributes and brony thoughts everypony!! With Steryotype on the beat, Ditherer raps about various lovely topics and character depth of ponies, including Sunburst, Maud Pie, Twilight, LyraBon, Jasmine Leaf, kirins, and more! Always so delightful to see, along a traditional new remix by Steryotype, and this time even some cute freestyle! Dizzy Inmotion – Spellshatter | Hip-Hop

Another piece of her Battle of the Bands concept, Dizzy Inmotion brings us this clever take off of Under Our Spell from Rainbow Rocks. Spellshatter is a self-hyping track with quick punches and great flow, talking up the dazzling personalities. The synth chords and word play pay great homage to the Equestria Girls hit while bringing a lot of creativity and Diz’s own personality to the forefront.

Dizzy Inmotion – The Sunset Shimmer Show | Hip-Hop

Dizzy is a rising star and it is easy to see why with such incredible flow and lyrics! The Sunset Shimmer Show is written from the perspective of the lead Equestria Girl herself tearing down a Battle of the Bands, Diz very cleverly plays up Sunset while knocking on the competition. The instrumental is simple, yet complimentary of the rapping, and the rapping is captivating!

The continuation to Dizzy’s story revolving around EQG Rainbow Rocks is here, and it unveils more of the many wonders that the concept album will have! Featuring ForeverFreest as Trixie and art by Niko, The Duel enacts another “battle of the words” between Sunset and Trixie, right before Sunset’s performance… Which is actually released now, check out The Sunset Shimmer Show! Also guess who’s the certain siren that Sunset met as well on her way to the stage… Adagio (Skit)!

Steryotype – Lofi Pon EP | Lo-fi


Our patience has been rewarded, as Steroytype’s debut EP, Lofi Pon EP is finally here! 14 tracks of lo-fi hip hop goodness, with sprinkles of MLP samples and various vintage sounds, such as vinyl noise and old time music. The majority of tracks are less than two minutes long, so nothing here feels like it goes on too long or overstays its welcome. Stand out tracks are JustKeepVibin with its clear hip hop influence coupled with a modified horn sample, and TheyDon’tReallyLikeMe (OhWell) , containing a lovely melody and manipulated guitar samples while keeping the general lo-fi aesthetic. Groovy yet serene, this is a beautiful EP that you can simply sit back and relax to after a long day.

MC-Arch – Relation (prod. Nevermourn) (feat. DaWillstanator) | Hip-Hop / Audio Drama

The message in this song is so vital in our fandom and our world right now. This emotional song about Discord could have not been released at a better time. This track is one of best on MC-Arch’s masterpiece of an album. This track is a combo of a Hip-Hop and only a small part of the well done audio drama this album offers. Featuring the musical talents of my fellow H.M.H colleague Nevermourn. Who does such a great job of making a melody, that just conveys the energy and power of the rhymes MC-Arch’s releases in this track. More than ever the lyrics cut deep with emotion and wisdom. The lyrics are for the one and only master of chaos Discord. Voiced by a fellow known for his talent for voicing him DaWillstantor! The magic of this track is the whole conversation between Discord and Realfeeler. Really well done and produced. I really want people to listen to this track. The Characters we relate to in the show is why we cherish the lessons learned we learn MLP. The message of speaking up for the greater good for all is so dire to learn. I really love the fact that Arch took his love for Discord and made such a powerful track about him and the message. Our fandom and our world need this so much right now. These characters would speak up for us, and we need to do the same for others! Let yourself feel the power of this track. You will not be sorry for it. There is no one better at taking their love of MLP, and using it for the greater good then MC-Arch. So proud I call the 3 gentlemen on this track, friends of mine. Check this song out and the Album! DoodledMoosic – brony_rappers.egg | Hip-Hop

DoodledMoosic’s back with a solo song, although there’s an interesting twist… Throughout this nearly 5 minute song, he spends every 8 bars doing very accurate impressions of other rappers in the MLP music scene, such as J. Free, MC Arch, NickyD, ShobieShy and… iBringDaLULZ? Nah, we can’t have nice things all the time. Either way, we’ve got a rap piece that’s both funny and great to listen to, especially if the names mentioned all ring a bell in your head.
