Toby Macarony – MLP:FiM BGM Orchestral Medley (10 years of FiM) | Orchestral

Everyone loves William Anderson’s incredible scores from FiM and Toby Macarony is no stranger to getting emotional when it comes to gorgeous music. Inspired by scores from various episodes, Toby recomposed and mixed a medley of fantastic pieces into one big track. The instrumentation is vast and incredible, spanning flutes and worldly strings to rock drums and guitars to horns and more! If you take a listen, you’ll be sure to hear several licks you remember and call to mind great memories!

Daniel Ingram – Being Big Is All It Takes (Faulty Remix) | Progressive House

Today we’ve got ourselves a remix by the talented Faulty. The song remixed, “Being Big Is All It Takes” by Daniel Ingram, certainly is a masterpiece in and of itself, so let’s take a look at what Faulty did with it, shall we? The track starts out with a lovely Progressive House beat, and the lyrics quickly join in. While the vocals tell us all about the CMCs new change you can hear the beat slowly building up. As the chorus sets in you are sure to bob your head along, if not dance along–it’s just that amazing. As the chorus ends everything calms down for just a second only for the beat and singing to resume in all their glory. As the CMCs sing their lines the beat continuously increases in awesomeness as it builds to the chorus (I think by now I don’t need to tell you how fantastic the chorus is), and it carries the song until the end.
To be quite honest this remix deserves its place in the hall of fame of the best remixes of show’s songs ever made, and it might just be the best “Being Big Is All It Takes” remix out there.

Daniel Ingram – The Magic of Friendship Grows (loophoof & R3CTIFIER Remix) | Electropop

Today we’ve got ourselves something special, everypony! For the tenth anniversary of Friendship is Magic loophoof and R3CTIFIER made a stunning remix of the final show song, “The Magic of Friendship Grows”, but before I venture into complete fanboying territory let’s get to the bottom of this amazing track. The song starts out with Twilight’s first lines and a simple, slower beat, but don’t let that deceive you! This is not a slow song by any means, and the beat quickly starts building up signalling an incoming chorus; then, after a single note, the drop happens. The drop is an explosion of awesome sound, and the combination of amazing lyrics and fantastic beat is sure to make you jump up and dance. The calmer beat returns for Pinkie’s part before ticking up again as Rainbow takes over, building up again and again to that one specific note and another drop. The amazing chorus takes over again, this time while we are shown scenes from the School of Friendship, and if you didn’t dance before I guarantee you will now. Applejack’s lyrics are accompanied by the calmer beat and a soothing melody as we are given some breathing space, which continues through Rarity’s part, but the tone shifts as Fluttershy sings, and we build up again. This time we don’t hear the single note and get an even better drop with an even more upbeat beat as we see all of the secondary characters that we all love. And then the ending. The ending is just…wow. For the ending loophoof and R3CTIFIER recreated the original melody with a tear jerking synth that really gives this song a worthy conclusion as we see the Mane 6 for one last time and close the book on Friendship is Magic.

Daniel Ingram & Lena Hall – The Magic Inside (RedSpark Remix) | Electronic

Today we’ve got ourselves a remix with surprises from the talented RedSpark. The song remixed, The Magic Inside by Daniel Ingram and Lena Hall, is without a doubt one of the best songs from the show. But enough of me fanboying over great songs–let’s get to the bottom of this fantastic remix! The track starts out with a happy beat that gives you the feeling of lying on a beach just chilling out, and you can hear The Magic Inside‘s theme playing quietly in the background. Suddenly the beat stops and gives way to the amazing voice of Lena Hall while the music begins to alternate between the original song and RedSpark’s amazing arrangement. Rounding into the chorus, RedSpark plays around a bit with some vocal chops that add an amazing electronic flair, and the beat and singing of the full chorus combine for an awesome effect. Then, BOOM–suddenly everything stops; then some excellent orchestral parts set in which are sure to surprise you on your first listen through. After some time they are joined by a simple beat and shortly thereafter by the amazing vocals, which makes for an odd but fantastic combination. After that more vocal chops join the build up into the final chorus. For the grand finale everything is combined–the orchestral pieces, the vocal chops, everything you’ve heard in the song before is present here–and it makes for a stunning conclusion!

Spikey Wikey – Loudmouth VIP | Dubstep

Louder! Louder! Louder, is the sentiment of this recent release from the proficient producer/musician Spikey Wikey. Acting as a VIP for a former piece by him, this piece, once again, reaches the boundaries of connection between sound design and rhythm. Heavy dynamics and a subtle yet familiar and fluttery voice also contribute to the utter sleaze of this tunage. Dirty and hard is this dubstep track, yet it’s not absent of melodies in its second half. The original piece from which this sick number was made is a tune inspired by the classic two-step psychedelic dubstep style, yet this variation finds a way to modernize that ditty into a cutting-edge definition of dubstep. This is truly the intent of a remix, to transform something into something else entirely whilst retaining its image. Also, be sure to keep a look out for Spikey Wikey’s upcoming EP, Wavetable Wizard, which this tune originates from.

Budzy – Marshmallow (BeatSpark Remix) | Dubstep

Invigorating is this dastardly tune that is BeatSpark’s remix of Marshmallow by Budzy! BeatSpark has taken the bouncy house attitude of the original piece by Budzy and created a heavy and dark, yet still recognizable variation. The chord implications and melodies are still present, but the offbeat 909 hi-hats and claps are now pounding kicks and reverberant snares in two-step, garnished by supersaws and heavy growls. Such an apt interpretation of a Ponies at Dawn piece no doubt deserves to be jammed to.

[ASOS] GrazySmash – Thunderbolt (Ice Angel Remix) | Hybrid Trap

(Listen to the original HERE from P@D: Skyward)

We now give you more sweet and chocolatey music from ASOS:Chocolate, with this remix that just slaps you with flavor! Grazy’s original is all about fighting for your life in Fallout: Equestria. The same could be said in Ice Angel’s remix, and it seems like Littlepip is ready for round two with this track. The mood changes after each drop, and yes, there are 3 of them, and all emotional changes at that! We have Littlepip on the run and on high alert, trying to fight her way out of battle! With all the elements used, the feel changes after the 2nd drop with this amazing bassline that seems like the battle is in slow motion and Littlepip is taking down enemies with careful aim, and then she makes a break for it! The last mood change comes in after the final drop, when it looks like she is in the clear now, having taken down her attackers and is back to safety. This track was just awesome! At track 23, Ice Angel was able to keep the dire feeling of the original and break it down in mood changes with each drop. This is another great track from the album! As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

PinkiePieSwear – Flutterwonder (Snow Swirl Remix) | Electro

The original Flutterwonder keeps getting more tributes, and this time Snow Swirl remixed it with a beautiful and rich new arrangement, all while keeping the heavenly vibes of the original intact. The outro is quite emotional and reflective too!

Aoshi – FluttERR (feat. Fluttershy) (PSFMer Remix) | Jersey Club

Disclaimer: This is about the remix from the original song, not the original song, and while at times it may seem like I’m talking down on one song, I intend to compare and contrast the two.
So my take on this remixed version of fluttERR from the original, well going back and listening to both for the first time, and by a side by side character I prefer the remix. Both are talented able and potential musicians, but something stood out to me more than the tune, cords, bass or vocals was the rhythm and theme of the music. The remix sticks with the same theme all the way through with a little surprises here and there. while the original seems to jump from theme to theme, its dubstep one second, hiphop, then electro the next and its rather distracting, but still a good song and im sure it was amazing in its prime. The remix is a fun remix you almost want to dance to, as stated in the comments you could get a wrong idea with some of the lyrics it depends on the person, it sticks with a select set of vocals to accommodate the beat and rhythm of the song. With how the song is set up you can tell its a remix, but in my opinion a rather good one, it has a great drop. the little addition of a new piece every few seconds such as a squeek, grunt (or moan whichever you prefer) the bass, is a rather fun addition, while this song is only 2 min 11 seconds its a great listen to and I recommend it! only thing i wish is that it was longer, great job PSFMer, with both the cover piece and the song, i cant wait to see more of your work in the future!

William Anderson – The CMC Go Crusading (Toby Macarony Remix) | Eurobeat

You know Toby, you just keep being one of the most delightful musicians in this fandom. My fellow bronies, it took 9 years, but this classic CMC theme just got the most excellent remix! Toby has transformed this theme with fast and exciting Eurobeat! Those high energy wavy harmonics, those uptempo drums, and pounding basslines take this charming song of the CMC trying to get their cutie marks and as the artwork shows, injects their crusading energy with nitro! You know this theme bronies, now have it with some pure adrenaline! One that Travis Odyssey did not do, but he sure does love it; that really should give you a hint about this track! (look in the comments) Oh, if only Applebloom, Sweetie Belle and Scoots knew where this journey would take them. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
