Today we’ve got ourselves a Pony Life themed track by CAPT. This song is a lovely house track centered around the tropical feeling of the Potion Ocean. The tropical house tunes really create a feeling of laying on the beach of the Potion Ocean yourself and the voice samples from the show add just the final touch to make this amazing track even better. If you like horse house you’re gonna have a blast with this song and if you don’t like it, maybe give this song a shot either way. Who knows? You may like it too.

[ASOS] Tw3lv3 – One Small Thing (feat. Drummershy, Koa and MC-Arch) | Progressive House
The lineup of musicians assembled for this collaboration seems like the answer to a challenge: Assemble a group of current fandom musicians that are not only talented and accomplished artists but also great ambassadors for the fandom and values to which the community aspires. Okay, now have that lineup write a fantastic song about how even small acts of kindness and friendship can have a huge impact on someone’s life. If there is an “Elements of Harmony Award”, then give it to this group, because that challenge has been thoroughly met! One of my favorite things about the fandom is how well musicians collaborate together and how collaborations are often so successful at melding the talents of their contributors, and this song is a prime example of that! First, the ultra smooth, vibrant, uplifting backbone of the song, the music that Tw3lv3 has created, lends itself so well to each successive contribution. Then come Koa’s fantastic vocals, which echo the wonderful song “One Small Thing” from “MLP: The Movie” and its amazing duet between Pinkie Pie and Princess Skystar. This message is one that especially resonates with Tw3lv3 and has so many echoes with her own journey as a musician in the fandom. These lyrics and her story is an amazing testament to the power of inclusion, of helping each other and finding ways to grow individually and collectively. MC-Arch then contributes his own amazing vocals, and it seems appropriate to have this message of perseverance come from someone who is continually advocating for more positive interactions within the community. Last (but in no way least) Drummershy lends his considerable percussive proficiency to the mix, creating an excellent passage of drumming that, as with the vocals in the song, stands out on its own before being swirled into the blissful mix. As the song sounds its final triumphant beats and the final notes soar and softly dissipate, it certainly feels as though a journey has begun, forged from struggle, fired by friendship, and triumphantly climbing onward.
Vylet Pony – Hyperion (feat. loophoof) | Progressive Electronic
A dream collab in many bronies’ eyes. Two of the very best in the brony music community at the art of telling stories with their music. There is clearly some Asian inspiration in the tone of this track. The story comes from Vylet’s upcoming album Super Pony World: Fairytails, with this being the 14th track.
The track centers around her OC in combat with a character called Hyperion (there’s going to be a full fanfic that comes alongside the album when it comes out!). There are all kinds of elements of different genres mixed into this complex track: ambient, orchestra, drumstep and loophoof‘s signature electro house sound; the soft and tension-filled melodies with the flute really permeate. Speaking of loophoof, his presence is felt all throughout this track with those sweet harmonies that he loves to do, filling the track with emotion with his trusty LaunchPad! Then you have some sweet keyboard tones as the track picks up in pace. It’s hard to really put it into words as there is so much going on, but there is no mistake! The combo of Vylet’s singing voice and her mixing with loophoof’s breathtaking ability to add so much emotional depth to his melodies really make it feel like an electronic music orchestra here! It really does tell the story of a fight and conflict going on. The pony vocal samples, the rough elements, the pace of track come together well as these two endure this fight and start asking questions. The finale of the track is a pretty good example of the chaos of a fight going on. With Vylet being the music genius she is, getting everything to mesh and flow together, it paints that picture very well. My bronies, just listen to the musical magic at work here. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Songbird Choir – Tropical Life | World Music
MLP fandom music veteran Songbird Choir returns with a joyous, world music-flavored trip to sand, sun, and relaxation! Originally submitted in response to the DustCar race prompt “Pony Life”, this expanded version takes elements from Pony Life’s theme song and morphs them into a tropical getaway. The percussive melody incorporates some great flute and guitar to round out the sound. It’s a fantastic tune, and it’s wonderful that Songbird Choir was able to harness the quick, bouncy energy of a brief piece of music and grow it into this gem.
TCB – Friends Can Change The World (TheEmptyTomb Remix) | Future Bass
The Empty Tomb returns with a remix of TCB’s Friends Can Change The World! TET’s interpretation keeps the original’s emotion and vocal chops while adding future bass elements and beautiful buildups along with those gorgeous piano keys and synthlines. The homely vibes haven’t left at all, and the way it ends feels like watching the ending of the show all over again…
RedWire – Out Of Time | Synthwave
For a guy that has been making Brony music for the better part of 2 years, you would think someone who can make tunes like this would be just a tad bit more known. Well, let’s try to change that.
The theme of the track is about the season 5 finale of MLP. There is a great deal of drama in the pace of this track; the tempo changes in reflection to the dire situation of Twilight trying to figure out how to stop Starlight Glimmer. How this track is arranged is pretty good in playing off that; we all know the consequences that Twilight knew she was dealing with, and the realities of what time travel does. The melody really plays on that with the switches in the mood and little elements used in the composition flavors the mood right up until the end where Twilight has no choice but to hope she can talk some sense into Starlight or all is lost. RedWire is an unknown in the fandom. He has a backlog of his pony music on his channel to check out, as well as a SoundCloud with even more. (you can check that out here) Let’s encourage him to keep getting better in the community! As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself. Make him feel welcome and give him some love please.
Budzy – Crusher VIP | Riddim
(You can listen to the original here that was featured on P@D: Anthology)
Budzy was going to submit this to Equinity 03, and I have little doubt that this would have made the cut. Taking his original and slowing it down a bit as is the case for riddim dubstep, this track sure tells more of the cerebral side of Big Bad Tirek. All the elements and vocal chops from the original are still present. Instead of speed, there are these slow, intense elements along with electrifying buzzing elements that are paired with those deep bass drops commonly heard in dubstep. Oh, and that deep methodical melody that goes with the track really empathizes just how vile Tirek really is, it so complements the theme of the track. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
[ASOS] NeverLastStanding – Your Friend (Paloris & Ponyman Remix) | Future Bass
Nothing makes me happier than when a song can utilize a speech seamlessly in a song.
Twilight’s coronation speech is the perfect fit here both contextually and emotionally. Intricate and bright vocal chops melded with a vibe-y and mellow bassline, the speech opening the track, just brings about that sense of joy and longing and really plays with the heartstrings! One thing I love about this specific style of Future Bass is how laid back, yet powerful it is! Fun samples, but you can FEEL the energy in the mix, yet its not in your face. I enjoy the original a lot for its high energy and pumping beat and this takes it in a whole new direction! A State of Sugar just keeps on supplying the goods and this box of chocolate has many surprises in store. You can check out the rest of A State of Sugar’s new album, ‘Chocolate’ right here!
[ASOS] loophoof & NeverLastStanding – Have Here (TCB Remix) | Future Bass
(You can hear the original here!)
Keeping it going with the singles from ASOS: Chocolate, we have a very curious effort done by the always creative TCB! This was made during one of his music making streams, mind you! He’s remixed a track done by two of the very best in electronic music making in our fandom; how do you make that better on your own? Just preposterous!
Nah, TCB has got you. The first track on this album, he turns a very mellow and happy song into something with the excitement you expect from something themed around Pinkie Pie. He has transformed this song into something just hard, smooth and stylish! All of loophoof’s and NLS elements are in place, don’t you worry about that! There’s just more flavor built around the core elements. There are some more colorful vocal chops, and even makes use of a Pony Life sample, that being Fluttershy yelling “Noice!” There is this really nice deep rumbling bass that you just want to move too, and even a guitar solo! Oh, how about that melody that’s like smooth orchestra synth all through this track? Just… Woah! The remix was put together with such care. Again, this was composed on a stream, and it managed to make the cut to be on this album. He sprinkles in some other fun elements just to give track some polish. As I said, TCB aims to please with a smooth track about Pinkie Pie! As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
[ASOS] Seven Ponies – Pale Color | Drum & Bass
The recently returned Seven Ponies is on a roll. Not wasting any time in making an appearance on a compilation album, we have a doozy of one for ASOS:Chocolate (track 33). With some clever use of Pinkie Pie vocal chops from the Smile Song, the track seems to tell a story of Pinkie struggling with feeling so down and heartbroken. The ambient elements tell that tale so well. The vocal chops and the upbeat drums in the drops of the tracks seem to be Pinkie trying to remind herself of when “some days are dark and lonely, and maybe you feel sad, but she can show you it isn’t that bad”. The track is wonderful in blending these elements together while they are clashing inside of Pinkie’s head. A balanced track! As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
