This version differs slightly from that found on Equinity 03: Breach where it was originally released and better displays what the producer had in mind. Proto_ssin’s concept is better explained in their own words: “Luna has trouble fitting in. [This is] an untold story of when she visited her Nighmare Moon statue, [as she gained] thoughts. What do you think those thoughts are”? This backstory is lost in a stream chat from months ago yet shines light on the creative choices taken, and in particular the glitchy ending. That story is told using reflective melodies and plucks as well as great drum sample choices.
Drum & Bass
Fetlocked – Everfree Guerrillas | Neurofunk
Contributing to the first DustCar race under the name of Juxtapone and to the latest Pinkamena Party album too, Fetlocked shows a lot of premise with this new Neurofunk dark beauty as well, part of the second DustCar race themed around MLP villains! The dark atmosphere is just on point for the theme and the jungle and tribal vibes are also present and fitting to the Everfree Forest and Zecora leading the rebels. This gets me so excited to see what kind of new masterpieces the musician will make in the future!

Seven Ponies – Brought To Life | Drum & Bass
Seven Ponies makes an addition to the ever-thriving pony drum & bass scene after five years of inactivity. Inspired by the fanfiction An Affliction of the Heart, this song takes you to a realm of upbeat melodies and soothing chords, almost reminiscent of house. The light of the song contrasts with the strife conveyed by Plainoasis’ gorgeous artwork, but they have in common that their protagonists strive for solace. Keep an eye out for their track on the forthcoming A State of Sugar: Chocolate album!
Daniel Ingram – Living in Color (Lavender Remix) | Drum & Bass
This article was co-written by Canatime and DrakeEmberHeart.
Lavender outdoing herself is a dizzying thought considering how good her music is, but she might very well have done it with this remix. The original being mostly vocals, it is well suited for remixing, and the drum and bass producer, fandom veteran Lavender Harmony, took advantage of this outstandingly well. This colorful remix filled to the brim with positive vibes was over one year in the making, and it shows through the spotless mix and the expertly crafted instrumentation. Overall, it sounds quite frankly genuinely better than most tracks featured on mainstream labels. From the exhilarating brassy lead to the intoxicating drums, the union of all the elements makes it incredibly difficult to see how this song could be any closer to perfection. The remix feels like a tribute to the vibrant colors of the community and is definitely a song posterity will remember. Take it away, Drake.
Canatime thanks for welcoming me here. Leave it to Lavender to put on a show with her work, This remix is so supercharged with high impact positive vibes. Those insane drum beats and the wonderful transitions of color in the video with the pounding bass. Oh my, and the harmonization of Twilight and her friends’ vocals is so fluid with Lavender’s melodies and that HYPER pounding beat in the positive highs of the track, GOODNESS! This is how you make a remix your own my fellow bronies. Enough of me talking, go listen please! As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.
Whirlwind – Escape | Album | IDM / Electronica
(Please visit Whirlwind’s Bandcamp to support it)
Whirlwind is not just a drummer in this fandom, oh no, my fellow bronies. He is quite the musical storyteller. It takes special talent to take real dreams and translate them into relatable music. His debut album tells a story of his OC seeing Equestria. It’s amazing to me how much MLP:FiM means so much to people, and how dreams like this can translate into music such as this. The elements in use are there, creative uses of ambient, electronia, IDM. even a bit of drone, D&B and even glitch-hop. These all bring out the experience of so many ups and downs, drama-filled excitement or moments of peaceful bliss. Whirlwind alone should be commended in the creative experimentation of electronic music that he’s trying to break into, but enough of me talking… Let’s have a listen.

iblank2apples – Horse D’oeuvres (Tw3Lv3 Remix) | Drum & Bass
Showcasing such tasteful choices of songs to remix, Tw3Lv3 sent some love to Blankie’s way with this smooth DnB remix following up on the distinct musical vibes from the original. And always with the “best sample ever” in Tw3Lv3’s words! Also check out Tw3Lv3’s other recent release In Mind’s Sight from the Fluid album!
FritzyBeat hugs Port Blue – Seagulls (Snow Swirl Remix) | Drum & Bass
Snow Swirl’s remix of FritzyBeat’s hug to Port Blue is so airy and reflective, with the mellow yet punchy DnB instrumentation uplifting us to new wonders. As we celebrate our common feelings toward Trixie once again, we linger in the bliss of such a gorgeous remix that was definitely aced!
Tw3Lv3 – Solitude | Drum & Bass / Hip-Hop
This is certainly a unique track! This song, from Tw3Lv3’s recent album Fluid, has an interesting mix of Drum ‘n Bass, hip/hop, and electronic music, that makes the track feel both energetic and chill. There’s also a level of consistency in this track, and the speed of the music is never slowed, save for the hip/hop bits at the beginning, middle, and end. Overall, this is a fun and catchy track!
[P@D] UndreamedPanic – The Storm Is Coming VIP (feat. Metajoker) (Single Purpose Remix) | Drum & Bass
This song has come a long way from its original release on UndreamedPanic‘s last EP The Outdoors, to the release of the VIP on Ponies at Dawn – Eternal, to Single Purpose’s remix of the VIP on P@D – Ignite. They cranked up the bpm by 233% but kept the atmosphere set by UndreamedPanic’s mellow synths and Metajoker‘s gorgeous vocals and powerful lyrics. In the first half the roomy drum pattern doesn’t feel empty at all thanks to the longer snare and the soothing yet gloomy reese. What was the interlude before, where Metajoker repeats “there’s a storm coming,” is now a hype machine of a buildup culminating with an exhilarating drum fill introducing the second half. From now on until the end it is more or less as perfect as it gets, from the drums to the synth work, working in unison to lead this track right into the list of the most solid DnB the fandom has seen.
