Not much else really needs to be said, but this is a nice fun and short song about… Pony. A catchy beat and melody followed by, you guessed it, many different iterations of the word “pony” (how many times do I have to say pony in this writeup whew) What can I say except ponies?
Somber and dark begins this ballad from the community veterans Mathematicus & And the Rainfall. Minimal, ambient noises and the beautiful raw sound of one guitar then acts as the backbone of the first verse. This seven-minute masterpiece consists of endlessly progressive and complex collages of electronic sounds characterized by a beat-heavy rhythm and refreshing modulations. And not to mention, this piece has one of the most poetic and understated outros I’ve ever listened to. Along with that, this song is a part of the compilation album The Rest of Our Lives. All proceeds gained from the album go toward coronavirus relief.

From a musically technical standpoint, the original Breaking Bonds (back in 2012) was such a groundbreaking musical project for such a young fandom. Some could make the argument that it should have been left alone. Myself and my co-writer Luck Rock wondered how this song could be made better. Lucky for all of you. We are going to tell you why PrinceWhateverer, IBringdaLulz, and a group of 4 new cast members have done so for track 20 of P@D: Ignite. For those who don’t know, it’s about the season one episode “Griffon the Brush-Off.

After a nearly 3 year hiatus, Russian metal band Radial Rainbow returns with a new song! Insight interpolates Open Up Your Eyes from the MLP movie and turns it into an epic and unique metalcore piece! The familiar vocal hook is played by a flute and the music is filled with heavy guitar riffs and even some keyboard sounds! Some of the finest metal production in the fandom to date.
Raven Horn’s latest track sees a trip inside Cadence’s mind after escaping from Chrysalis’ evil clutches. Chitin Nightmares is a unique blend of chilled out synthwave and orchestral music, full of spacey and distorted electronic goodness laden with all kinds of crazy effects alongside samples of Chrysalis’ voice. Creepy yet beautiful!
Rarity’s regality has been matched with this little tune from TheMusicReborn. The lyrics describe her to a T, featuring a plethora of words that rhyme with Rarity even. The pace of the music is a satisfying orchestral waltz which makes it great to dance to. I bet Rarity herself would love to dance to this graceful track with those catchy harp riffs and percussive rhythms keeping everything in time!
Close your eyes and get ready for a ride! Cloud Hop really knocks one out of the water with this 14-track album! Every song on Dreams of Distant Stars evokes imagery of some kind using creative and expertly composed instrumentation.

With an ambient and grand curtain-raiser as the intro, this neurohop track titled Null is a tasteful manifestation of rhythm and neuro-styled sound design. Slow and heavy is the name of the game in the presence of MEQA’s progressions, and before the last beat-heavy section of this piece is an ambiance that is as sonically intimidating as it is suspenseful. This opus also befittingly has a spot on the great Ponies at Dawn album, Ignite! Enjoy!
From the first volume of COREQUESTRIA comes PARANOIA, the second of three tracks from Enuna. This track starts off with an ominous and distorted intro absolutely laden with effects and samples before turning things up to 11. The noise features crushing bass drums and blazing fast drum loops while the bass carries the song alongside some bell samples. Even with the heavy nature of the song, we’re treated to something special in the form of a distorted piano loop that plays by itself before being joined by all the other instruments and samples. Can you say chaotic? I know I can.
This song might very well be last one from one the greatest drum & bass producers in the fandom. Before jumping into the song itself, it would be wise to look back at the achievements and history of the master, the legend, horse music titan Hay Tea. Continue reading
