[Equinity] Tw3Lv3 – Mango Juice (feat. Mizuki) | Kawaii Bass

Tw3Lv3, why do you do this to everyone? LOL. By now everyone knows that everypony’s favorite musical deer has a niche for making great tunes about just about anything. Let’s take this song at track 15 on “Equinity 04: Immersion”. We have this sly, fun and fly track that starts off in such deep and vibrant fashion and then builds to this fun drop. Then this really catchy and happy bass melody kicks in with these different wacky vocal chops from anime, video games and MLP with Mizu throwing in a “Ju-Ni” and “Mango Juice!” here and there. Tw3Lv3 is known for making chill music with a lot of positive vibes, and true to that nature the melody changes bit by bit and becomes more happy and full of energy as the song progresses. It’s like being in a state of pure bliss. Oh yeah, it’s because Tw3Lv3’s Durr Oc is enjoying some mango liquid refreshment! Yes, this is a song about her favorite fruit. How talented do you have to be to make a track about your favorite fruit and make it sound this good?! It’s strange, fun and entertaining and a true testament to her undeniable talent. As always this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

P.S: Don’t tell any bat ponies about Tw3Lv3’s mango stash! Shhhhhhhhh…

[Equinity] PumpkinZ – Submarine | Future Garage

PumpkinZ’s new track, Submarine, skillfully captures the feeling of delving into the ocean’s expansive beauty on a wondrous submarine excursion!  Immersive bass flows throughout the song, creating a sense of traveling through the sea, while steel-drum-band-type sounds add to the feeling of underwater fun. Images of bursts of bubbles, beautiful fish, and ocean scenery filled my head as I listened to this piece.  I could see gentle sunlight gently filtering happily down from the ocean surface, while cool waves washed the sides of the submarine and refreshed the sea floor. The rhythmic beat maintained a feeling of vacation adventure, as opposed to merely drifting peacefully through a gentle sea.  As I listened, it felt as though I’d fallen asleep to sounds of water dripping from my faucet and was transported to a dream world on a submarine adventure beneath the waves.  Enjoy this immersive journey as you listen to this and other tracks on Equinity: Immersion!

Aurelleah – Lex Aeterna | Hybrid Orchestral

I want to start off this article by telling you that as someone who fights with my own brain and being familiar to the issues of having ADHD and anxiety and what comes with those battles, I can very much understand Aurelleah’s own struggles. I found out from a friend of mine that Aurelleah has had to face those same issues and more. However as he had said, he fought hard with determination and fortitude, and he has finished his first piece of fandom music in 3 years! Given how epic this piece is, I say it’s a very inspiring thing to do; mental illness doesn’t wait for you, it just hits and affects you at any time. Pushing on and keeping going is not easy. After I heard this piece of music, I heard the love and passion in it. There are so many elements blending together in the work itself; you’re treated to a soft opening of light and soft melodies of pianos, acoustic guitar, and soft vocal harmonies along with some lore to the song in the video, and then you get the start of the song.

Thunder Dash – The Overcomers | Piano Solo

This encouraging new track from Thunder Dash embodies the message of overcoming life’s many obstacles.  The piece is divided into three distinct movements, all representing different phases of the life’s journey.  A light and happy melody, introduced at the beginning and played throughout, produces an overall feel of positivity and optimism.  This melody, however, falters deliberately at times, suggesting that life is not perfect, but it’s important to keep on going despite obstacles and mistakes.  A darker section in the middle of the piece seems to represent the times when life’s struggles can feel almost overwhelming; the times when doubt and fear obscure our vision of the light at the end of the tunnel.  However, joyful and encouraging tones quickly return, reminding us that life’s obstacles do not represent the end of the road and do not need to be permanent roadblocks that define us.  For all of us who falter or fall at times, the message of this piece is to always get back up and to keep pushing forward with hope and determination.  With major and minor key shifts and changes from higher to lower registers on the piano, life’s hills and valleys is clearly depicted, but the piece ends on a high note of victory over life’s struggles.

[Equinity] Spikey Wikey – Basic Waves | Future Bass

In keeping with the theme of Equinity’s latest album release, Immersion, this track by Spikey Wikey creates a truly immersive, journey-like atmosphere that delves into many facets of ocean beauty and adventure.  At first, light melodies seem to bubble on the surface of the track like driftwood.  Later, the melody deepens, suggestive of diving beneath the ocean surface to explore hidden treasures in its depths.  At times, mystery seems to beckon, as the destination feels uncertain.  The sensation of simply floating can be felt at other times.  At one point, a breathy gasp from Twilight shifts the track into a frolicky, bouncy vibe that’s pure fun.  At this climactic point, the music brings a feeling of release and wonder, as if the diver has just emerged from a seemingly endless underwater cave and entered a hidden world of beauty, fascination, and discovery.  Enjoy the immersive journey as you listen to this amazing track on Equinity: Immersion!

[Equinity] PSFMer – Coffee Beans | Drumfunk

Equinity’s latest album, Immersion, has just been released! Along with many epic new tracks comes Coffee Beans by PSFMer.  Powerfully introspective and rhythmic, wafting waves of base undergird the track throughout.  A call-of-the-wild, ambient atmosphere replete with bird cries and other exotic animal sounds creates a sense of being transported into the jungle in the midst of a mystical, magical safari.  Complex rhythmic drum patterns add to the feel of an epic journey into the wild, where both danger and the promise of high adventure intermix and irresistibly beckon.  Some sweet bass work adds to the deep, almost underwater feel of the piece, very appropriately in line with Equinity’s theme, Immersion!

Metal Core Pony – Wishful Reminiscence | Post-Hardcore

Metal Core Pony returns with his newest song since 2018, Wishful Reminiscence! Showing that he hasn’t lost his touch at all, this track displays some really soulful vocals over a heavy melodic instrumental. It’s all about the fandom (as his tunes usually tend to be) and its current state, with the hope that things can change for the better if we stick together, like the days of old. A powerful message for sure, coupled with a brilliantly made song. Welcome back, MCP!

Midnight Fritz returns with an uplifting track that highlights the gentle and supportive help given by Rainbow Dash to Scootaloo.  Soft piano chords and gentle guitar plucks sooth the listener with waves of tranquility.  High notes combined with the low piano chords and soothing guitar in the background skillfully highlight the lighthearted, childlike wonder of Scootaloo, as well as the warm, tender feelings that characterize her sisterly relationship with Rainbow Dash. The magic of friendship is brought to life in this delightfully warm tribute to these two close friends.

Blackened Blue – The Road Less Travelled | Hard Rock

Oh no! Blackened Blue is lost in the desert and losing his mind! Well, at least we get a kick ass rock track out of it! By this point, it should come as absolutely no surprise that one of the premier rockers in the fandom has absolutely crushed the sound of the heyday of hard rock. The driving electric guitar, drums, and bass arrangement is so satisfying to hear. What I like about this straightforward arrangement is that it allows the listener to appreciate how good the instruments sound with lots of reverb goodness and a pleasing openness to the mix. The icing on the angst cake is Blackened Blue’s vocals, which are fantastic and spot on for this style of song, delivering lyrics that have me a little concerned for his well-being. I also love the art used in the accompanying video which really helps pull the viewer into the story. I know that it’s too much to hope for a full “rock band in the scorching desert” music video, but it’s still fun to imagine one! Hope you enjoy listening to this track (at high volume) as much as I do!
