Lovey, sugarly, and positive. Those are the words that come to my mind when I hear the very bubbly and hyper melodies of this song about Pinkie Pie. You can say what you want about Pinkie Pie, and sure, maybe you think her overly happy persona is a bit much. However, listen to how this track is composed and the Pinkie vocal chops used in it. They show the moments where Pinkie is not being hyper but just bringing joy and fun to those around her. AC here was inspired by a fanfic by CrystalChameleon to compose this track and it really shows the real spirit of Pinkie Pie. Just listen. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

[Equinity] Evgeniy Doctor & GrazySmash – Invasion | Psytrance
Evgeniy and Grazy are two rather impressive trance artists I’ve come to love in the fandom, and what could make it better? Sitting them down together to collaborate together for Equinity’s third album, ‘Breach’! An orchestral thematic opening announcing the arrival of the army blends seamlessly into the concussive force of psytrance, a wide soundstage and lots of varying sounds carried along the beat, we even have some nice little switch ups and breakdowns which are done incredibly smooth and the builds alone are a treat to listen to! Nice little touches of big room add some flare to an already gorgeous beat and what can I say other than “You need to hear it for yourself!”
SP1TF1R3 & 4mplitude – Insomnia | Psytrance / Dubstep
Psytrance is always a genre I appreciate, especially when its mixed in with another genre like dubstep. This one is short and sweet with an ominous tone and does a very good job at allowing the tension and energy to ebb and flow, the varying rhythms between genres is always a nice addition in my book and its especially well done here, utilizing every second of its length to bring about an interesting evolution of the song!
[Equinity] Proto_ssin & Tw3Lv3 – Sinking Solitude VIP (Extended) | Chillout
Proto_ssin and Tw3Lv3 combine forces to create an outstanding song highlighting an emotionally charged and pivotal moment from MLP: The Movie. The instrumental elements create a somber, echoey ambience that sets an amazing thematic tone for the track, preparing the listener to consider a particularly difficult memory. The use of vocals from both “Catchy Song” (from the episode “The Perfect Pear”) and “One Small Thing” (from the movie) may seem surprising choices considering their upbeat nature, but in this context they help to create a dichotomy between Twilight’s typically amazing friendship with the rest of the Mane 6 and the betrayal that they feel when she goes behind their back to try and steal Queen Novo’s pearl. The video makes use of some great art and clips from the movie, and they pair beautifully with the song to heighten its impact. This VIP version adds even more into the first half of the song (including additional samples from the episode “The Perfect Pear”) which sets up the impactful moments of the second half even more. A great effort from two artists whose styles definitely compliment each other well!
FritzyBeat & Steven, A.D. – The Day the Sun Dies | Electropop
We are going to be a little less serious here with the next track. There is something really wholesome to this track. Fritzy promised Steven he would finish this track, and 4 years later, that promise was fulfilled ( The whole story is in description of the video)! The song is really catchy with surprisingly swell melodies and gives it to Fritzy to throw down some bars with some rhymes! The song itself is about Celestia retiring and funnily enough, how Steven predicted the outcome of FiM. The song is quite humorous. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself. I’d like to add that old style fandom music doesn’t always mean outdated though.
Toby Macarony – Cloudsdale Sunset | Alternate Electronic
Another fantastic track from Toby Macarony’s wonderfully inventive Shenanigans Two album, “Cloudsdale Sunset” began life as a chiptune/electronic track and morphed into a funky electronic jam that somehow blends guitar, saxophone, vocal chops, vocoder voices, and “epic choirs”! The electronic elements keep the song bouncing and buzzing along, but the other components masterfully support them, especially the saxophone, either layered in with the main melody or having strong moments of their own. The adroit composition billows into glorious walls of noise that send the listener careening through the clouds and rainbow waterfalls. TM’s distinctive vocal elements skip along with the blissful music, and they even cleverly repurpose Fluttershy’s “So Many Wonders“, formerly an profession of love for life on the ground, for the chorus! After listening, you just may want to start looking for a room in the Cloudominium!
Fetlocked – Everfree Guerrillas | Neurofunk
Contributing to the first DustCar race under the name of Juxtapone and to the latest Pinkamena Party album too, Fetlocked shows a lot of premise with this new Neurofunk dark beauty as well, part of the second DustCar race themed around MLP villains! The dark atmosphere is just on point for the theme and the jungle and tribal vibes are also present and fitting to the Everfree Forest and Zecora leading the rebels. This gets me so excited to see what kind of new masterpieces the musician will make in the future!
Koron Korak – Twilight Really Loves to Chill | Lo-fi
Koron’s latest venture into Lo-fi makes it sounds like he’s been doing this for his whole life! The atmosphere and soothing sounds are just perfect for the genre, and of course the song is also full of Twilight’s irresistible cuteness, with those vocal samples of her that were an awesome idea!
DAϟH x Fantasy – 1,000 Year Old Equine Remains – The Remix EP | Multi-Genre
Now this is a fun little EP here! The topic of choice is Luna’s shift into Nightmare Moon.
Evident by the use of vocal chops throughout the EP, that takes a different twist on the event based on the genres used. DAϟH and his friends at Equestrian Terror Corps dive into the realm of experimentation. The outcome is a small group of tracks that puts a different set of emotion on the event. Let’s have a look at this fun little project.

Bayanic – Hadron Sonata | Progressive Rock
In the means of revamping past songs for an improved effort of production, Bayanic has pledged to recompose his Equinelibrium album. Off to a great start with this really catchy song if you ask me. This one creates an OST-like sound by mixing some old school techno elements, along with pleasing keyboards tones and some really fun Prog Rock guitars and drums. The melody dances around to some extremely catchy music that you just want to go for a power walk while doing the grocery shopping! I want to hear more!
