Keeping with the theme of insanely bizarre compositions, Sergeant Moon\Enuna seems to have a thing for vocal chops in a lot of them! This one has a melody of what I like to think is distorted hip hop music with a haunting texture to it. Just like the show The Twilight Zone. No pun intended. This song goes into the mind of a crazy Twilight Sparkle. There is a flavor of distorted vocal chops in this track of well-known mainstream rapper Lil’ Jon manipulated to the point where it sounds like he is saying horse puns. Off-putting as that sounds, it’s strange but it works! The composer amps up as the track gets more insane. Even Twilight herself asks for more with the help of Pony.Ai. This track, like I said, may not be for everybody, but it’s certainly something that stands out about how bizarre in creative Corequestria Vol 1: Ponyville is. You must hear it for yourself. As always, this Qilin really wants you to judge for yourself!

From the first volume of COREQUESTRIA comes PARANOIA, the second of three tracks from Enuna. This track starts off with an ominous and distorted intro absolutely laden with effects and samples before turning things up to 11. The noise features crushing bass drums and blazing fast drum loops while the bass carries the song alongside some bell samples. Even with the heavy nature of the song, we’re treated to something special in the form of a distorted piano loop that plays by itself before being joined by all the other instruments and samples. Can you say chaotic? I know I can.

(Nyancats380’s Facebook ) From the newly released COREQUESTRA Volume 1 comes something so fast, terrifying and different! The theme of this track is made very clear with the machine gun pounding bass that Princess Luna has to protect Sweetie Belle from a beast trapped in her nightmares! The sound of Sweetie Belle screaming is a nice touch. The use of heaving and growling of a monster not letting up is all up in your face. One could say the pounding and eerie sounds could be the princess fighting for her life. It is not a track for everyone, I will say that. But the intense feeling of a horrifying nightmare is stimulated with the composition. You’re a cruel one, Nyancat. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

What time is it? Hardcore time! This most recent release from Pernegyre on Equestrian Terror Corps introduces itself with breaks and kicks that have a classic hardcore flavor. Acting as the backbone of the track, they’re accompanied by the trance-like melodies of the keys and supersaws. An ambient interlude leads the song to one final chorus before ultimately resolving. Another great song off of ETC!

DELTARYZ and Layl have collaborated to create an exuberant song with the nuances of a happy hardcore track. The gleeful sound of this track, I find, is very reminiscent of the mounds of early 2010’s happy hardcore music I’ve listened to by artists like Lapfox Trax. The synth elements of this track bring out a blissful response that truly does reflect the idiosyncrasies of Silverstream’s eternal mood. Listen to feel like Silverstream!

The clash of the fandom’s heavy EDM stars DAϟH and Nyancat380 has just burst onto the scene. Ketamine sets out to commit aural assault in a brutal yet pleasurable manner with its incredibly harsh synths and distorted drums and vocal samples. While we don’t recommend you stock up on ket, we do recommend you listen to this song and let it make you go wild!

Imagine a future where the Sirens won the Battle of the Bands… Courtesy of Equestrian Terror Corps comes Sirens Lament, the title track from Pernegyre’s upcoming album! In contrast to his last release, this one showcases an overwhelmingly heavy gabber style that belongs in a hardcore rave room! The drums charge through everything that comes in its way as the bass rumbles loudly while the occasional voice sample from one of the Dazzlings pops in occasionally. Safe to say that gabber is the brutal death metal of the EDM world!
