SDreamExplorerS – Ildy pad Ružovymi Kryłami (feat. Velvet R. Wings, Koron Korak & Pavel Lipski) | Folk Metal

SDreamExplorerS or Soul Strings is about to release a new album, Ephemeral III: Imhnieńnie Ščaścia, a folk metal album with vocals in Belarussian and the third part of the Ephemeral circle. It will release on the 28th of August, but pre-orders are available. Alternatively, bandcamp will cut out its fees on the 4th of September, which is a great opportunity to support awesome artists like SDreamExplorerS. This track is a single from the upcoming album. As per usual from him, there’s a lot to listen to in the song, including plenty of acoustic intruments like Koron Korak‘s violin or the dulcimer programmed by Pavel Lipski, all professionaly mixed. And as always, Velvet R. Wings and Soul Strings’ vocals work together beautifully despite being polar opposites, each vocalist getting a solo part too.

StableTwoStallion – Alles Gehört Mir | Industrial Metal

Cozy Glow song! This epic track is made up of heavy industrial metal, with classic industrial guitar, drums, and of course, the deep and hard-hitting vocals. With this track, the lyrics are in German, and it’s inspired by the likes of Rammstein and Eisbrecher, to give you another idea of the music style! Overall, this is a really good track if you like industrial and heavy stuff!

Blackened Blue – Flight 2020 REMAKE | Metalcore

(Listen to the original here to see just how much more improved the remake is)

It is no secret that many new Musicians are heavily influenced by Linkin Park in someway, They are one of the greatest bands of the modern era of music. That can be heard in this track by Blackened Blue. The style of nu metal instrumental and percussion, but more so by the mood of this song. A young Pegasus is incredibly sad and frustrated by seeing it’s friends that can fly but it has yet too. The lyrics are very emotional and convey a bitterness about it, especially when blackened lets out his natural screaming vocals that just happens to sound like the late Chester Bennington. Absolutely phenomenal and a great way to end his self-titled EP which you can listen to Here. As always, this Qilin asks you to judge for yourself.

Djohn Mema – EYES (feat. Sable Symphony) | Metal

I know after listening to this song you will have questions. It’s understandable. Eyes represent something that’s been done in music for centuries.

Heavy metal is such an amazing genre to use as a conduit to send a strong message to get you to think really hard. Djohn here has produced a fine use of those elements of anger and frustration, amped right up with a message that should ring into your heart. The guitars, Djohn’s masterful drumming and Sable’s orchestration gives this track its legs. But is the voice of Djohn that is the heart of this track. The message in those lyrics… It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what he’s talking about and he is so good at letting that emotion just come right out.

Now the message in those lyrics is probably going to be controversial to some who hear it; we as Bronies don’t like to hear the truth sometimes. But what Djohn has done is nothing new in music. Bands like System of a Down. Slipknot, Korn, Rage Against the Machine, Linkin Park and Korn are examples. Rappers like Public Enemy, NWA and Eminem are also known for it, and even classic artists like Bob Dylan and Phil Collins.

Every single one of these groups caused controversy to some degree and some people were not happy. But the public curious took a closer look and found those messages and understood.

Take a step back and listen. There is wisdom in those lyrics. Very relatable ones that not only talk about our fandom, but people as a whole. The episode in My Little Pony. “The talk of the town” moral this song is the same as that episode about Zecora; it’s just a lot more blunt and honest in this songTake an honest listen of this song and think about it. This Qilin more than ever asks you to really judge for yourself.

PrinceWhateverer – This Party Never Ends (Ft. Blackened) | Metalcore

Oh boy it’s a Pony Life track! From the reigning kings of brony metal, PrinceWhateverer and Blackened bring us this high-octane bop as a great reminder that This Party Never Ends! The sound design is tight as you should expect from PW by now and the music falls somewhere between metal and pop-punk with heavy hitting drums and riffs mixed in with catchy and upbeat lyrics and guitar rhythms. Add some bells on top to keep things fun and lighthearted and you’ve got a great collaboration that will energize any listener! For those who have been around a while, you might catch some the nifty references to Pinkie’s Brew as well!

[P@D] Blackened Blue – Spark (feat. PrinceWhateverer & L-Train) | Nu Metal

Ponies at Dawn: Ignite has brought us many incredible collaborations and this track features a power trio for the ages! Blackened Blue brings in the talents of some of the best guitarists and songwriters the fandom has ever known – Prince Whateverer and L-Train for a heavy, early 2000s sound. Spark features heavy metal chugs, record scratches, grungy vocals, and more! The guitar solo is as sick as one should expect with this team and the entire song is something that really needs to be experienced!

Jess Furman – Pony Life (When Hooves Meet Face Cover) | Metal

When Hooves Meet Face (have I seen him somewhere?) has covered the most metal theme in the entire franchise – the Pony Life theme song. Accompanied by a funny and well-produced music video, this cover has a very tight mix – like it could be set to the actual theme video and fit perfectly. I keep listening to the song to talk about the instrumentation and dynamics, but the video is so entertaining I keep forgetting to listen closely. The second half of the track includes a heavy breakdown and honestly, the whole cover is so satisfying to listen to. Take the 1 minute it takes to listen to this and do yourself a favor!

Stallionslaughter – Tender Horn Does Glow (Chevelle Parody) | Alternative Metal

A love letter to Chrysalis in the form of a parody of Chevelle’s Send the Pain Below, Tender Horn Does Glow sees Stallionslaughter sing his appreciation for the queen of the hive and… oviposition? Oh my. He even goes harder vocally than the original during the bridge, even adding a few extra screams towards the end! Feels good to have him back.

From a musically technical standpoint, the original Breaking Bonds (back in 2012) was such a groundbreaking musical project for such a young fandom. Some could make the argument that it should have been left alone. Myself and my co-writer Luck Rock wondered how this song could be made better. Lucky for all of you. We are going to tell you why PrinceWhateverer, IBringdaLulz, and a group of 4 new cast members have done so for track 20 of P@D: Ignite. For those who don’t know, it’s about the season one episode “Griffon the Brush-Off.
