Night Blaze – Facing Night Mare (Extended) | Orchestral

Night Blaze likes action-packed musical pieces and Facing Night Mare is a great example of that exact kind of exciting compositions. This track has a lot of moving instrumental parts from distorted guitars contemplating the powerful percussion, violins that introduce the tension, choir voices adding intensity, and much more! A tribute to the Princess of Night, you can feel the battle-like intensity in this track!

Noc – Empty Horizons | Original Audiobook Soundtrack | Soundtrack / Orchestral

I’d first like to preface this write-up by saying how much I love fanfiction, like almost as much as brony music, and that I’m reading Empty Horizons now and so far it’s really good. So, onto the album! It’s a soundtrack to an audiobook, which I’ve never really seen before. There are 15 awesome tracks on here, and each one is distinct and memorable. There are some really cinematic tracks, like the Main Theme and Twilight Falls, and string-heavy tracks like Rarity’s Theme, but all the tracks, in general, are packed with passion and emotion, and overall they all add to the vibe of the story.

[P@D] Forest Rain – The Spark Overture | Pop Ballad

This song made me tear up at the release party, and every time, I still get close to tears; Forest Rain has once again perfectly captured the love I think we all share of the magical land of Equestria. With the masterful use of motifs sprinkled throughout the song, and other technical tidbits such as incredibly emotional dynamics, she draws out a level of emotion in me that I haven’t felt in quite some time, and it’s wonderfully refreshing. I also can’t get over the absolute beauty that is her voice, covering such a wide range of expression. A masterpiece of a track, indeed.
The track is available as part of P@D Ignite.

Sia – Rainbow (RedSpark Remix) | Hybrid Orchestral

Building upon the strengths of the original, RedSpark brings his own style, blending house and orchestral as always, with influences from pop and reggaeton in this summer hit-like remix of Sia’s Rainbow. Two main sections are tied with beautiful bowed strings and at times, an elegant piano plays the catchy melodies of the vocals. The work with the tresillo rhythm and its variations throughout the song is also a nice touch.

RedSpark – Revival | Orchestral

Where to begin? I guess I’ll start with how good this music is (believe me, it’s really good!): It’s powerful, it’s energetic, and, it has this vibe of what I can only describe as “grandeur.” This track also has hints of nordic-sounding music near the beginning and end, which definitely helps contribute to the aforementioned vibe. Overall, this is a beautiful piece of orchestral!

Super Trampoline – Welcome to the Dying Brony Fandom (Eagles Parody) | Piano Ballad

OK! How about some hilarious laughs! Super Trampoline has you taken care of. A parody of the rock classic “Hotel California” by The Eagles. With an excellent rendition on classic piano of the melodies. He hilariously talks about every single aspect of our fandom, all the good and all of the cringe of being in this fandom. From the nostalgic 2012 to our present. It’s all there and it’s Brony Cringe at its best. I really don’t need to say more, because its all there. As always, This Qilin unfortunately lol..asks you to judge for yourself.

Toby Macarony – Flutty & Rainy doin’ Picnic | Orchestral

Flutty & Rainy doin’ Picnic is the opener of Toby Macarony’s new album, Shenanigans Two. This track lies among songs from a great variety of genres, just as expected from TM. It is a cute orchestral piece working as a conversation between a flute representing Fluttershy and an oboe for Rainbow Dash with each instrument playing a few phrases followed by the other’s response. The song ends on an ethereal note with a choir and strings.

Editor’s note: Find below an additional writeup by fellow writer Cynifree!

Start of Cynifree’s writeup
A nice heartwarming tale of two friends having a picnic together. Toby has released something a little different than I’m used to, however its a really cute and sweet soundtrack with happy woodwind melodies and soothing harmonizing strings of a wide variety. Things are placed very well through out the song from little chimes and choirs to harpsichords and harps. A very robust orchestral piece and this kind of stuff is my bread and butter!

Ocean Melody – Celestium | Soundtrack / Orchestral

The perfect BGM for strolling in forests (those who played The Elder Scrolls might know why), Celestium is showcasing such inspired melodies on a progression that definitely feels OST-like, and the two sisters got another much wonderful tribute!

RedSpark – Daring | Orchestral

I absolutely love soundtrack-esque tracks and music, and this piece is no different! This track sounds like it came straight from an adventure movie, with the energetic orchestral music fitting with Daring Doo’s whole vibe. Basically, I’d say a good word for this song would be “EPIC.”

Raven Horn – Chitin Nightmares | Chillwave

Raven Horn’s latest track sees a trip inside Cadence’s mind after escaping from Chrysalis’ evil clutches. Chitin Nightmares is a unique blend of chilled out synthwave and orchestral music, full of spacey and distorted electronic goodness laden with all kinds of crazy effects alongside samples of Chrysalis’ voice. Creepy yet beautiful!
