3 new MLP field themes designed for a RPG from our Soundtrack and J-RPG enthusiast CisumClassic, and as always it’s so appreciated! On the menu, themes for Tartarus, the Tree of Harmony, and Seaward Shoals from the episode PPOV! Very fitting themes, and the awesome inspirations and tastes did wonders again!
Now this is an odd one! ‘Hot Salsa’ is Columbian tribal house song from Equinity 01: Stellar that carries itself with fun, fiesta-like vibe and gets straight to the point with a hammering deep bassline; You’re gonna want headphones or a decent subwoofer for this one! The very high leads meld wondrously with the basslines and the trumpets and vocal samples really bring out the aesthetic of this tune and is a very chaotic yet minimalistic piece. If you’re looking to party and need a very powerful groove, this is the track for you!
Music and the world around us. That really comes to mind for my self as I listen to this. P@D offers so much fandom music from across the world or world influences at that. GhostXb composes something very worldly in the atmosphere here. Some Jazz saxophone mixed with a mandolin. Smooth piano tones with some soft choir vocals. You feel like your an Equestria pony walking into a welcoming experience in a far off land. There is so much mixed together very well. Picture this, your one of the princesses visiting a new country. They sit you down and a bunch of dancers and musicians perform this for you to make you feel welcomed. I really enjoyed all of the epic ingredients that this tune is made of. [Art by Plainoasis]
Wow! Toby Macarony has a style very much all their own and Better Way to Be Bad is the perfect song to get that Macarony twist! The remix has a very electro swing feel while keeping the original tango elements of the track. In addition, Toby incorporates their insane, stylistic chop effects to make the villains sound more demented – in the best way! Toby restores Chrysalis’ voice to the vocoder ways of season 2 and adds cool chop effects on the others as well to fit the mix. You really want to check this out!
It is always refreshing to see when art inspires art and MirroredReality uses that inspiration in such a gorgeous way! Magic of Kindness is a beautiful symphony of strings and lighter orchestral instruments like the flute. It was composed using the cover art picture as the concept for the track, which makes sense given the gentle and serene feel of the composition. The percussive gives a nice, fitting energy to the instrumental, managing to be thoroughly felt without being too loud.
SDreamExplorerS’ newest album is here, and boy does it deliver! Always sparked from deep experiences and pony inspirations, and calling the listener to reflect, this one takes us on quite the unique journey as it features such a wide array of genres! And you can tell how much love has been poured into each of the tracks, ranging from Progressive Metal to Ambient to Samba to Jazz and even to crazy bass play! (Perhaps there needs to be a new genre to fit to Soul’s unique musical endeavors in these!) An impressive compilation of reflections and meticulously crafted masterpieces that is just a must-have! Niłch’i (F 109) is no stranger to ambiance and sound design and this is no exception! The opening piano chords and pads are rich, deep and carry a weight behind them and that’s only the beginning. The focus shifts most notably with what appears to be a jaw harp(?) of all instruments and a more ethnic, folk sound with some tight and complex break beats to tie in to the main genre of the song. Everything ebbs and flows like water through out from the chimes to the one shots and reverberates so cleanly and mysteriously. I absolutely adore the very deep and gritty bassline that punches through at times and the dynamic range really shines through with these iterations. This is truly a unique masterpiece and truly immerses you into its world!
CisumClassic is going strong with a full album’s worth of instrumental themes for different Equestrian locations. The whole soundtrack is set in RPG style music and varies greatly from world to world. From the western flair of Appleoosa, the chill sounds of the Breezie Village, the ominous setting in Chrysalis’ Lair, and so many more, this compilation has something for everyone!
Also: there is a part 2!
In the same vein as his previous track Somnambula, this new release from 174UDSI (who seems to have switched his name to Yellow Tune) brings those arabic musical vibes once more in this track blending worlds! Its theme is apparently quite wide and may include many forms of Egyptian-themed ponies in the show or fanart!
In a heartfelt tribute to Derpy, The Wonderbolts spin a tale of the bubbly mare’s struggle and strife in What Went Wrong. What sets this Derpy song apart from many others is the abrasive reality portrayed through a bittersweet plea for understanding, characterized by the rugged instrumental and powerful vocals. One of the most curious defining traits of the song is the overall saturated and analog sounding mix that is present throughout, particularly during the loudest sections, evoking a sense of of looking into the past as well as considering the future of one of the fandom’s most beloved characters. This song is truly a monolith to the fandom, accompanied by art from ExclusionZone.
